PoC video
If one feature concerns only one of the songs of a concept album, I think it can still be considered as a tight and cohesive concept album. I think 'oppressive Orwellian world' would be a feature of Major Minus and not Princess of China. But that's just my interpretation :) Who knows what the 'warriors' ior whatever in the photos are up to? It's just some pictures taken outside of the set (though yes they look quite scary).

Nerdy moments
I sincerely don't know what you could do. What I'm trying to say is that taking up a bunch of 'nonprocessed' info is probably not the best way to actually learn its underlying mechanisms ans properties. It's like knowing by heart a load of formulas that you, however, don't know how to derive, where they come from or what they are for. (Sorry I'm so off-topic.)

PoC video
These features would apply to PoC?

Well, it's just some (rather weird, I should admit) photos. Let's wait to check the final result.

Crests of Daylight/Glacial Fox/Crests, Foaming at the Mouth
As far as I know (I can be wrong) 'campuses' and 'campi' are both good, but each is derived by a different rule. 'Campuses' is formed by the common plural suffix -s (preceded by a vowel because English wouldn't allow double 's' cluster). 'Campi', if I'm not mistaken, is the latin plural form from which the English word was originated. 'Campus' would be a genitive, like in 'Chris' house', so it doesn't apply here. I'm not a native speaker and I don't know a lot about English morphology, but I hope that helps :)

I don't know the proper name of my course in English either  I just say 'linguistics' because that's what I'm specialising in.

Not at all :nice: I study formal linguistics. That sounds interesting. In here (Brazil), you could only stick to the disciplines of your own area and luckily do some open courses in other departments.

Oh, your college buildings look so cool and welcome! What do/did you guys study? Mine is cramped and gets all muddy during rains. And some classes are too small and/or underequipped . But they recently remodeled parts of it :nice:

I think it'd be a better idea just to read different books, by authors of different backgrounds?

Coldplay's Twitter
Really not my cup of tea, but I can admit without any problem that she's singing pretty well. I think that's the first time I listen to Gaga singing live (except for the Viva cover) so all I can say is that it sounds much better than the three times I've listened to Rihanna singing live and the two times I've listened to Katy Perry singing live. (Just stating how many times I've seen these people live to emphasise that my point of view was only based on a small portion of data so to speak.) What bugs me about Lady Gaga is that she has to wear outrageous clothes and do outrageous stuff to catch people's attention and she chooses to continue doing so even though she actually has got talent. Such a shame.

Bands?
I don't know if you have already listened to Muse so if you haven't, I endorse what people have already mentioned above

Coldplay's Twitter
I don't think they're 'whoring themselves'. They and their administration staff may be taking some drastic moves, but I think they just want to express things differently from what they've done so far. But no whoring, thanks.

I'm so sorry everyone.
I feel so old when you guys say your ages :disappointed: Anyway, welcome, Sessy. (By the way, how is name pronounced? Stress on 'ssy' or the other way round?) As for family members finding me over here, I think I'm fine, because I'm as quiet on real life as on here, so no surprises :P

Can anybody find me a job?
:( That sucks majorly. I'm not sure if I can ask it (apologies in advance if it is indeed offensive somehow), but can anybody in your family give you a hand? Anyway, if people say you're talented at music, I'm quite sure you're talented at a bunch of other things. I hope you can get past this.

That was great! Thanks for sharing and providing an alternative way for us to watch it!

Coldplay's Twitter
 I don't think media is dumb, though. I actually think it's way too clever: 'let's take someone's words out of context, distort it, add some drama, attract loads of readers and get sponsors to keep financing us'. This is disgraceful.

Do you think people are innately good?
I think as humans (as opposed to other species) we are born with a wide range of ways to act and a wide range of ways to perceive things (because of the configuration of our bodies and 'mind'). None of these things are inherently good or bad; it all depends on a number of varieties that we couldn't possibly know of, let alone control. Add to the math the different ways you can perceive a single state-of-affairs. I do believe though that we do have control of our acts and if we decide to do so we can change our general pattern of behaviour. Though we can't control what happens around us, we can indeed control how we react to this and what we will do about it. Usually, I think we generally tend to just let ourselves drag, but in principle we have the choice to change it if we want. So I don't know what 'being inherently good' means, I just think that we can figure out what is a good and decent way of acting in a given situation and that we can decide if we will do that, do something else or completely ignore it. What would be innate is that wide range of choices of how to act. That's a very interesting question. There is every chance no one will get a definitive answer, but that just makes it more important to ask. And I found what you guys are saying really interesting.
