Didn't care for it. Acoustic guitar strumming the 2nd most popular 4-chord pop progression throughout, verse and chorus. Not particularly original, and you (the band) could have at least done the courtesy of adding a guitar or keyboard accompaniment. Singing is decent, nice melody...but overall, pretty boring.

I just listened to it for the first time, and I'm ambivalent because a. I agree with much of what Eddie is saying b. There's just enough of that late 90s boy-bandish flavor to keep me unsettled.

I loved 'ladies and gentlemen...' as a kid (largely because it corresponded with my reading of Sophie's World, also I was jizzing over the whole idea of space rock). When I saw the new one got best new on pitch (can y'all keep up with mah hip lingo), I naturally downloaded it. Gotta say, I was disappointed. I guess I just don't care for what Pierce is trying to do these days. Just feels archaic and done. :(

At the very least do Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road and White Album. As far as other classic 'old' music that you ought to seriously listen to at least once... The Doors Self-titled, Old Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, The Velvet Underground, The Smiths, Eric Clapton (while you're at it, B.B. King and that whole blues generation), 80s U2 Albums, maybe some Jazz (Dave Brubeck, Coltrane a Love Supreme...) I know it's not 'old old' but Nirvana and Jeff Buckley are musts as well...

The new Nils Frahm/Olafur Arnalds collab, "Erased Tapes" is juicy.

Just couldn't bring myself to answer the questions. First, I don't characterize the films I enjoy in terms of genre. Whether a movie based in history or sci-fi or western (which I assume also fits with historical? don't mean diddly with regard to whether its appealing or worth seeing. Good and shit films can come from anywhere. Also, questions like 'what is the worst recently made movie' or 'what do you think of recently made films' just strike me as pointless and abstract.
