The B-52's have serious stalkers? (Sorry, I know I shouldn't make light of a serious issue, but I'm having a funny mental image with the idea that someone is an intense enough B-52's fan to stalk them-especially this far past the 80's)

I guess I should rephrase, when I said dumb, I meant that it's not something that I personally would see any value in doing. I would never go out of my way to go somewhere on the off chance of meeting any celebrity, but that's just me. So let's replace dumb with something a bit less strong, like frivolous, or perhaps silly.:)

It is something of a North London institution, so it's probably worth checking out if you're in the area regardless of any Coldplay related reason. I think a big part of the reason it used to be so popular among fans is that it was really one of the first readily acceptable public places where one of the band members was known to frequent on a regular basis. Now people have the bakery and whatnot. (Heck even the guys' house locations isn't exactly a secret anymore.:embarrassed:), so if people want to try to catch them somewhere, they have options. Personally, I'd never think of bothering them when they were "off the clock", but people do, and those people have way more information (and better ways of sharing that information) than they used to.

Coldplay sales Updates
Yeah it does, but sometimes the general idea is way off.;)

I agree it's unrealistic (and IMHO kinda...well...dumb), but it is a fact that people do (or at least they used to), go there in hopes of encountering him. Back in the day there were even a fair few people who claimed they had seen/met him (and Jo) there. Even if you don't meet him (and I personally believe the likelihood that you will approaches impossibility.;)), the pub itself is supposed to have really good food.:)

FWIW there were some people who reported spotting him there, but all the ones I know about were way back when he was still married, so I don't know if he still goes there like he used to. From what people used to say, I think it was a fairly popular place to go in hopes of having a Guy sighting.

Pollstar numbers are not 100% accurate. They use estimation and extrapolation to fill in the gaps in their data.

He's pretty small in this one, but it's a great action shot. His tech is replacing the snare (he must've drummed through it!)

Any good pictures of the band?
I'm confused what you mean by rare.

I don't know for a fact that he did, but it sounds that way, and fits with the spirit of the event. Plus the fact that people laughed and he seemed to stumble his way through the lyrics a lot.

Floor vs. Elevated Seating
As with everything else, some venues are better than others. If it helps, some of the worst stories on this thread come from when they played a 30,000 seat soccer stadium that I'm sure wasn't designed for large scale concerts.

Floor vs. Elevated Seating
It's one of those cases where venue staff doesn't always properly enforce the policies.:dozey:

Floor vs. Elevated Seating
I'm only 5'3" and have limited mobility, and haven't had nearly the issues seeing things from the floor that other people have. I think it depends on where on the floor you are. Of course, I was also in a venue where security really cracked down on prolonged standing, so most everyone was usually sitting down. The MX stage is more steeply graded and elevated than the Viva one FWIW.

That's what it sounded like IMHO!:laugh3:

It could be worse, when KISS had a comic, it's selling point was that the band member's blood was mixed with the printer's ink.

The Buckland Religion~Official Thread
I don't know if he's been using it consistently, but it's been out off and on since at least Unstaged in Madrid last year. Those are really cool Les Pauls, they have the mini-humbuckers from the Firebird. (and Vickie's awesome painting)

The Gibsons came back a long time ago. Before he switched back to the Teles.

LP6
I really don't think it was intended as an actual song. It has lyrics that specifically reference the event it was performed at. It really sounds like something Chris made up on the spur of the moment.

Floor vs. Elevated Seating
In the past, there've been cases of people with media credentials being escorted out even when they had personal tickets (not just with Coldplay shows), so be careful if you do decide to go that route.:)

Floor vs. Elevated Seating
There are good reasons to do seats on the floor. Don't get me wrong, floor seating does suck for aesthetic reasons, but there are a ton of safety/liability issues that go with GA floor. More shows are going all seating these days.

Floor vs. Elevated Seating
It's all seated.

I'm not sure songs like Bucket for a Crown were ever even demoed. I think they were just one off songs that Chris wrote to perform live.

"Big Coldplay announcement due next week"
Wasn't the movie based on the early scrapped material though?

Also possible, but I don't think that's very likely right now.
