That was the El Rey Theater during the club tour to promote AROBTTH. This is from a year earlier during the parachutes tour. EDIT: I really should read all the posts before commenting.

Both of his Jazz Basses are. The only one not painted is his P-Bass and that's probably because he's had that one a long time and wants to keep using it after this tour. Jonny hasn't painted his sunburst Tele either FWIW (and I suspect for similar reasons)

Were you in those sections immediately to the side of the stage?

I don't see this at all to be frank. Guy's always done the least speaking of anyone in the band and has always been the one just a bit out of synch personality wise with the others. Anyway, he seems a lot more smiley and just overall generally happier on this tour, and from all reports, he's interacting with the fans while on stage a lot more than he ever has before. Sure, he often retreats to the back and faces Will, but that's actually fairly common among Bass players, he's just trying to synch with the drums better IMHO. Guy's fine. (or at least as fine as any of us can determine-we have no idea about internal band stuff. :))

5 million would've been a fairly respectable number for any era. They are doing things to try to stem the tide, but it's easier said than done. Not to mention most of their initiatives haven't exactly been popular with the public.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. They've got to finish this tour first.

FWIW I've seen a few of them secondhand go for less than any real Fender made guitar, even the MIM ones with all their quality control issues. The whole reason they don't allow Japanese Fenders on the US market (EDIT: North American market, for you Canadians) anymore is that the quality at that pricepoint undercut everything else they could sell.

I've never actually played one, but they're roughly the same as any MIJ tele. (so about 6-7 IBS)

Finishing the tour soon doesn't mean they'll be releasing new material any sooner in and of itself.;)

I don't see why it's so hard to believe. Obviously tons of people went to UCL at the same time as them and some of those people would have known them to some degree or other. There are lots of credible stories about people who knew them at UCL. In the past though, Oracle has responded to requests like that saying she can't confirm anything along those lines.;)

I would agree with that. They did play a lot of relatively small markets in 09 (and coming off the heels of a massive tour the previous year to boot.) I must say though, I do think it's kind of cool when a band that's massive does take their tour to smaller markets that don't get A-list shows that often.

That's been my feeling for awhile. I'd be somewhat surprised if they don't add some sort of Asian dates to Australian leg to make taking all the gear across the world more worthwhile, but I doubt they'll add more than that. They've all said things over the last couple years that make me think they felt like they toured too much last time.

Maybe, but the band explained their intentions after the video incident and the whole thing seems to have blown over, so who knows.

It was really weird but I was reading through shaniqwa jarvis' blog awhile back (I'm a fan of her photography), and didn't realize she's apparently besties with Jo. She's got tons of pics of all things Berryman.

The guy in the center (which I guess is the one from Stiff Little Fingers, who are awesome BTW), could be Matty's twin.
