  1. I'm just gonna say it: Even by twitter standards this guy's tweets border on unintelligible, especially for a native English speaker. Seriously. :P
  2. The AROBTTH tour only had 2 or 3 south American dates in total, and technically Twisted Logic didn't have any, as the 2007 tour was it's own entity. Historically, Coldplay have been pretty thorough in traveling the globe compared to a lot of bands, but I can think of several major tours by major bands that omitted some or all of the regions in question.
  3. Yes, but mostly smaller films, which she's done fairly consistently even while living in London. Her supporting role in the Iron Man/Avengers franchise is very likely the most major project she's likely to be up for at this point.
  4. Considering that only a few weeks ago the rumor was that they had broken up, I'm taking this one with a very large grain of salt. Guy's been rumored to have been linked with a fair amount of females (celebrity and non) since his divorce and who knows how many of those rumors were/are true. His personal life is his business. When a rumor about the band's personal lives is legitimate, Debs usually eventually confirms it in a brief announcement, so if true we may get word, beyond that it's really no one's business but Guy's IMHO.
  5. I guess my point is that the "London" Chris lives in is hardly the day to day version experienced by your average joe.
  6. People keep saying that, but I just can't follow. There are plenty of posh rarefied places and celebrity circles in London, and Chris and the rest of the band certainly are certainly a part of them.
  7. Could be, but I doubt it. She's 40 now, which in "the industry" is normally considered to old for major women's roles in big projects. Most of the kind of stuff she's likely to get offered these days is in line with the sort of stuff she's currently doing.
  8. Reversed shot. (note the lettering on the piano)
  9. I loved London, but I always thought they were joking about it always being damp and rainy before I actually went there! :(
  10. That's a delay effect. Jonny uses one at the end of UATW too. It keeps their final bit of playing on a loop for awhile.
  11. Jonny's actually playing the riff, but his part is doubled over by a Dulcimer, which is playback. Generally, they use a lot less backing than people tend to think. Obviously all strings are prerecorded, as are most of the other "weird" instruments used in the Viva tracks, but most of the rest of it is live.
  12. I'd just rather be somewhere it's sunny and warm all the time. ;) Also, seriously the fruit and produce on the West Coast is fresher than anywhere I've ever been. No lie. It sounds weird but it was unreal, especially the Orange Juice.
  13. It's an established fact that Chris and his family purchased property in the LA area recently, but the rest (permanent move, hiatus, scheduling etc.) is tabloid speculation at this point.
  14. I really don't think LA poses any danger to him in that regard beyond what he's just as easily exposed to elsewhere. He's already well integrated into the New York celebrity scene which poses a lot of the same pitfalls. Plus having been to London, New York and California, I know hands down I'd choose California over the other two if I could live anywhere, strictly in terms of the climate and environs.
  15. Ok, this is just my opinion, but in my theory is that the likely reason he's kept short hair is it works better with his current hairline. He's got some slight recession from the temples these days (as most men get by their early/mid 30's), and it would be more noticeable with longer hair.
  16. It's a matter of record that they have in fact purchased a house in the Los Angeles area, so that part at least is true. I'm sure even if they move there as their primary residence, they'll still split their time between there and London though. They already split their time between London and New York, so I really don't see how this would be much different.
  17. I'm pretty sure Chris (and to a lesser extent the rest of the boys) are already fairly chummy with a lot of "hollywood" types. Chris has already been splitting his time between London and America for some years now, so I don't think their move will be as much of a drastic change as some would assume.
  18. As others have said, Tumblr blogs only tend to look so messy because of the way people re-blog most everything. I've seen a few really nice looking tumblrs, but those are definitely the exception
  19. I disagree. Muse haven't lived in close proximity to each other for a long time (until they recorded their upcoming lbum that is...). Not all the members of U2 live primarily in Dublin anymore, Alex Turner lived in New York during the writing of the last Arctic Monkeys album etc. I could go on and on listing examples of successful bands where this sort of arrangement can and has worked. :)
  20. I've said it before, but I really don't get why people assume they will play Asia, South American etc. I can think of plenty of big tours that were limited to North America/Europe.

LOL @ the face of the security guy on the lower right! :laugh3:
  22. Seeing as how Jonny has been wrong about how many guitars he plays per night in at least two interviews I know of, I get the feeling he may not be a numbers guy. ;)
  23. I'm sure even if they're not formally working, they'll still be writing new material. Most musicians can't go long without doing that, especially Chris who seems to write about 50 songs for every one the band ends up using.
  24. Honestly, I think to answer the question you have to define what you mean by "big band" (and to a lesser extent what area of the world you're talking about.) Parachutes sold over a million copies in the UK and by the end of it's tour they were already selling out fairly major venues. By the time I saw them in 2003 when I was visiting a friend they were already over as a full fledged arena act. In the US, I would say they didn't get quite as massive until the start of the Twisted Logic tour in 2005. Viva was the era where to me they could legitimately begin to say they were in the top flight category of long term massive acts. That said, for all the hype about them being the "biggest band in the world" they're not quite there yet as that's still U2 to me. In purely commercial terms U2 360 makes any tour Coldplay have done look like a small club tour by comparison. I will say Coldplay are the biggest band in their age group though (and please don't tell me Muse has a claim on that title, I love them dearly, but they're not even an arena level act in some places yet.)
  25. A lot of bands (especially massive bands), don't live in proximity to each other and still manage to work effectively. I'm taking all these "reports" with a grain of salt anyway. No one knows what the band will end up doing (likely not even the 4 band members themselves could state that with 100% certainty right now.) Assuming they play no dates after this year (and again until gigs are officially announced, I'm not convinced they will happen), they'll have been touring for the better part of 2 years (counting all the festival gigs from last year) and seeing as they all have families and young children and don't need the money, I don't blame them for wanting an extended break, I'm just not prepared to say that X amount of time "on hiatus" is set in stone at this time. If they don't release anything until 2015, fine a lot of bands have longer gaps between releases, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. ;) Just my two cents...
