  1. Just noticed his name is inscribed on the back of the drum stool.
  2. I'd be happy to look and see. I'll see if I've got it around somewhere. :)
  3. There was a picture of him with his family dated recently on some celebrity gossip site I just happened to be flipping through. (don't remember the site, but I imagine you could google the image if you really wanted.) They live in Manhattan part time. The point is, they're not in London. :)
  4. Aside from the fact that's all the confirmation you're likely to get, it's also a little uncalled for. Besides it appears to be true, Chris and his family have been all over the tabloids as being on Holiday in Spain, and Jonny and his family have been spotted in New York recently. They're pretty clearly not in London at the moment.
  5. They're not "faking" anything so much as they are supplementing through the use of loops and audio sequencing tracks. Yes, they do make extensive use of such tracks live, but only for instruments the band's not playing on stage (the exceptions being some acoustic guitar parts, which are played off stage by one of the two guitar techs, and very occasional overdubbed vocals by Chris, such as the end of ETIAW, so he can have two vocal parts going at the same time.) Basically, everything you see one of the band members playing/singing is live, everything you don't is not. I'm not sure I'd call that faking, which to me implies that they're pretending to play a live part that they're not.
  6. That's actually the shop here in Chicago I bought my tele thinline from. Mines a lot more beat up than that though, that one's pretty pristine.
  7. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me the "can't do anything about it" thing comes in to play in that no matter how much we discuss things here, in the end it won't make a bit of difference as far as people turning up at the bakery, so it just seems kind of fruitless to have a discussion on the topic. Consider what's probably the most widely community accepted standard here: The prohibition on posting images of the band members' children. Virtually everybody who posts here agrees it's crossing the line, yet those pics do end up posted here from time to time. To put it bluntly, the censure of a bunch of people who post here doesn't mean much in the scheme of things, so there's no real use getting bent out of shape over something beyond our control.
  8. It unquestionably is extreme. That said, all anyone's really doing is standing around on a public street, so even if the band wanted to do something to curb it, they'd be somewhat limited in their options as the fans aren't actually doing anything illegal. :\
  9. In fairness, I don't see Thom Yorke or any of the other radiohead guys (with the possible exception of Colin) responding to that type of fan the way Coldplay do though. They're reserved in general, which tends to breed the same attitude in their fan base. In contrast, the Coldplay guys are go to an almost unreasonable length to accommodate fans outside their studio, which breeds the opposite fan reaction
  10. IMHO it's all a bit silly to have a "debate" over this issue, as people who want to go there will probably do so no matter what anyone else thinks and there's not much to be done about it if all they're doing is standing around on a public street. Is it a distraction/annoyance to the band? who can say, but I will point out that they could easily hire so security and be whisked into the building without ever actually being "rude" to fans (indeed not acknowledging them at all), and since they seem to choose to go totally the opposite route, I'd guess they're ok with it, at least for the time being. They're not the only band with a studio complex in a location known to fans and this kind of thing is fairly common in those situations (though I've never heard of a band that interacts with those fans the way Coldplay does here). I guess what I'm saying is that while it's not something I have any interest in doing, and there have been stories of some fans doing some really inappropriate things (the fans ringing the bell after the Christmas Lights shoot for example), it's just something that's going to continue to happen as long as the band are headquartered there. They've encouraged the fan presence by the level of attention they give, and as long as they do that, the numbers of fans there will probably continue to grow.
  11. Perhaps he has multiples. Personally, I think he should invest in some pants that button properly. No one likes a show off...:P
  12. It is a studio, but a rehearsal studio as opposed to a recording studio. The set up is pretty common for most rehearsal studios. Of course, that opens the question of what they're rehearsing and why. (assuming that this is indeed a current photo.)
  13. Yes, I remember awhile back there was actually some debate as to whether one of the photos was her and Guy or her new significant other, so they do look very similar. Regardless, they clearly are still quite involved with one another on a friendly level, so that's pretty well for them I guess, and probably for their daughter as well. Better than the alternative at least.

I'm pretty sure it is. I remember seeing photos of Jonny in that shirt with the same scowling expression (understandably) walking with Chloe at some point. I think he was lifted from that to be photoshopped into this.
  15. Keshia does bear a remarkable resemblance to Guy's ex-wife.
  16. I'd say it's more likely the one he's holding would be a gift, as it simply doesn't fit with that outfit, whereas the one he has on does. Jonny's more stylish than that! ;)
  17. Calm down mate, they'll release new stuff eventually, just not on a fixed schedule. :)
  18. I think the boys did all right the way they went. I think whatever beef they had must have been specifically with Spotify. as they've never been one of those groups that tries to withhold their releases from all digital sources (unlike most of the other groups that article mentioned).
  19. Jonny and Will:
  20. There were a few periods on the last tour where he had it almost that short. I think he's taken to shaving his head (as has Will apparently.)
  21. It's a cat. It's on a leash. What do you expect it to be? :laugh3:
  22. Will seems a lot less tentative to touch the Cheetah than the others. Also, is it just me or does that cheetah look mightily annoyed?
  23. Acoustic doesn't necessarily mean piano. It'd have to be new I think. There are several acoustic recordings of IMP floating around, but they're all from live recordings, as far as I know there's not a studio one.
  24. agreed. (although I'm really weary of holding up the grammys as some sort of arbiter of quality either) Anyway, El Camino is a great album, and Lonely Boy is a great song IMHO. Coldplay have had plenty of success at the grammys, and most likely will again at some point. Relax...
