i just read all of the posts about listening to songs early and spoiling the album and now i feel depressed! :cry: i've played the hell out of all 5 tracks (except 'rebel') and it's always been in the back of my mind that i was spoiling the album. but like you zemy i have no self control when it comes to this stuff. but i'm REALLY strongly considering not listening to any of the new stuff untill june 17 (US release date). that way, even if it's not completely fresh, it will at least feel good to listen to them after not listening for a long time. good luck to me, right? if i do it, i will start at midnight tomorrow (so technically monday) because then i can keep track on my last.fm charts and make sure there are no listens. hmm i'll have to think it over tomorrow and see if it's worth it.....

if you read the writing carefully this is what it means: "Viva la Vida comes with an acoustic of the new song 'Lost!'" 1. Lost (Acoustic) will be available on all copies of the album (pre-order or not) "Pre-order the album to receive an additional acoustic version of 'Lovers in Japan.'" 2. Lovers In Japan (Acoustic) will be available to only those who pre-order the album. HOWEVER you will receive it when the album actually comes out (not immediately after you purchase it). "Also, when you pre-order, the title track will begin to download immediately." 3. Viva La Vida will be downloaded IMMEDIATELY if you pre-order the album. sooo no one should be expecting to hear Lovers in Japan until the album actually comes out!

alright this thread is starting to irritate me... people... STOP POSTING LINKS!!! ian and the moderators have asked not to and they will get removed as soon as they see them! i feel bad for them because no one is listening and continues to post them anyway. if you haven't heard the song and you want to... PM someone who you know has heard it or go out and find it somewhere else on the internet. no one wants EMI getting mad at this site. so maybe instead of discussing links and where it's posted now... we can actually discuss the song?? wild idea i know... :P

TECHNICALLY only one song has actually 'leaked'. so far we have 5 songs and 4 of them were officially released by the band. These 4 songs are violet hill (free DL off the website), A Spell A Rebel Yell (b-side on VH vinyl), Viva La Vida (when you pre-order on itunes), and Lost? (b-side to VH in germany). the song that actually leaked (meaning coldplay didn't actually WANT it to get out yet) is Life in Technicolor which was recovered by intelligent website hackers and supposedly it is supposed to actually be shown to us when we unlock 100% of the contest puzzle. there have been rumors of Lovers In Japan leaking or being released with the French pre-order but no one has actually gotten it or even HEARD it so in my opinion... it hasn't leaked at all! that's all i know of... and supposedly there will be another single on May 21 (unless it's just an official release of 'viva').

i'm really excited to see how this song fades into cemeteries of london... especially since this song seems so happy/upbeat and 'cemeteries' was written about as their darkest song ever. seems like this kind of transition happens a lot on the album (viva-VH)

i'm really hoping they do a pre-sale like this... they havent said anything yet though.

they should have just combined the MSG and brixton contests so it wouldve gone faster... it makes no sense to split them up into two different puzzles because everyone can look at both of them anyway.

i dunno where else to post this but... does anyone have any idea why the album is listed just as 'Viva La Vida" on itunes now... (aside fromt he conspiracy theory that daahf is another album). it's just strange because itunes usually doesn't mess this kind of stuff up so i don't really know WHAT to think...

the new album leaked... it's pretty easy to find throughout file sharing programs and torrents and all that. the concert tonight was pretty good. I saw them back in '06 and that concert was definately better than tonights mostly because the venue i saw them at in '06 was much nicer, i was front row at that concert, and the fans were much more active and enthusiastic (it was at the Boston Opera House). tonight i was supposed to see them outside at the providence peers but due to rain it was moved inside to a small arena on the Brown University campus. the building was crappy and the fans SUCKED... no one was singing along and for the most part everyone just stood around. however, death cab didn't dissappoint and still performed amazingly. they already sound very experienced with all the new songs and it seems they have been playing them for years. they also incorporated a lot of their old stuff which was great. the set list was as follows. 1. Bixby Canyon Bridge (sounded great live, one of my favorite new songs) 2. The New Year 3. Why You'd Want to Live Here 4. Photobooth (one of the best of the night) 5. Long Division 6. Talking Bird 7. Grapevine Fires 8. Soul Meets Body 9. I Will Follow You Into the Dark (amazing no matter how many times you hear it) 10. I Will Possess Your Heart (unbelievable, best of the night.) 11. No Sunlight 12. A Movie Script Ending 13. Company Calls 14. Crooked Teeth 15. Sound of Settling 16. Marching Bands of Manhattan ENCORE 17. Title and Registration 18. Your New Twin Sized Bed 19. 405 20. Your Heart Is An Empty Room 21. Tiny Vessels 22. Transatlanticism (my favorite death cab song and one of my overally favorite songs of all time... so you can only imagine my joy when they closed with it) overall, if death cab is coming to a town near you... i HIGHLY reccomend doing whatever you can to get to the show. not all of their music is exciting for concerts but they are sure to play everything with extremely good quality and emotion.

i think its the beginnings of one of the videos we will get to see. it says 1% unlocked so i think that's the 1% holy fucking shit this fucked me over for my exam i need to go to bed
