A Head Full of Dreams Film - In Cinemas Nov.14
It's really hard to predict especially with how much we've been wrong so far, but if they are going to release it this year, there has to be an announcement by mid-October I would think. If we get towards the end of October and haven't heard anything, then I'm going to assume it's coming out sometime next year. Also I strongly believe this won't be called Live 2017. It doesn't make much sense to release something called Live 2017 at the end of 2018. Every other live DVD/Album has come out in the year it was filmed/recorded. Plus with Rik saying he was working on getting as many shows into the film as possible, I think they could possibly have a mix of recordings from 2016 and 2017. So calling it Live 2017 wouldn't fit that either. Also just with the amount of time they've been working on it, we're going to get more than just live performances. Personally I think it's going to have an actual title, and not Live 2017. Something like "Up& Up". Either way let's hope we find out soon because this year long wait has been excruciating lol, but I think it will definitely be worth it once it comes out. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I'd say it's still possible, but we would probably have to hear something in the next 1-2 weeks Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I think May 2020 sound just about right. Hopefully we see the DVD this November/December so we have something to hold us over lol.

Yeah I'm surprised they did it at pro shot gigs. The first time I noticed it was while watching Glastonbury. You could definitely tell he was lip synching. I understand doing it, but why not just sing it for all the pro shot gigs? It's a dead give away. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Hmmm I hadn't thought of that. Was your concert that was taken down from the AHFOD era? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

It's Chris using a loop pedal to layer up sounds. Check 3:05 in this video: You can see him layering different things. It's just something to fill the empty sound while they had back to the A-Stage. He as well as Jonny did this with Speed Of Sound too (3:20ish):

Very well said. I think sometimes being simple and minimalistic really helps tie a song together. There's actually some songs where I thought the bass was something else entirely. For example, the ending slide in ETIAW. I think Guy does a great job at adding supporting basslines. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Hmmm interesting. I would say they could still do a small festival tour just so they don't get rusty. They don't necessarily have to have new material, although a few new songs wouldn't hurt. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I was just thinking... maybe they will release it to coincide with the final date of the tour? That would be pretty cool. That was November 15th right? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Yeah for the very first Festival show they opened with Charlie Brown: And I completely forgot about that part as well. Thinking we were going to have two extra tracks and they ended up just being instrumental intros was so disappointing. Why not just attach it to the song? I absolutely hate when I shuffle music and A Hopeful Transmission comes on and is immediately followed up by something else completely random lol. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Agree 100%. I personally don't mind a longer break this time because they really do deserve it and I think it will make them come back with something really incredible. Also I feel the same exact way about hearing songs early. I was so excited when we first heard the new songs at Rick IM Park and Rock AM Ring, but I was also underwhelmed when MX came out. I remember specifically being disappointed with how Jonny's guitar solo sounded. It's got such a great sound to it live, but to me the album version sounds a bit bland. I remember thinking that it was a keyboard when I first heard it. Also do you guys remember that they had opened the first show with Charlie Brown? Then the very next night they open with MX and Hurts Like Heaven. I always wondered why they chose to do Charlie Brown first. Maybe they were just trying to see what worked better as an opener? But they usually open with the first track so I don't know. Anyway, yeah I wouldn't mind them doing a festival but I wouldn't want to hear more than one or two songs. In fact, I would like to try and wait to hear the next album in its entirety first listen. I have yet to do that with a Coldplay album. I would love to sit down and listen to it start to finish without knowing what's coming. For example, by the time Viva La Vida came out, I had already heard Viva La Vida and Violet Hill, so I knew what those two tracks were when they came up. To be fair though you would have to try really hard not to hear Viva La Vida in 2008. Especially because the iTunes commercial played all the time, which was awesome. Maybe the next album will be the album I go in unspoiled. I always say that, but as soon as a teaser or a snippet of something comes up, I can never resist lol. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Was just gonna post that lol. Would certainly be exciting if true. They haven't done a "festival tour" since 2011 so would be great if they did. Also, do you guys really think they will go another 2 years without releasing anything? I mean we are already 3 years from AHFOD, and Chris is most likely constantly writing music. I can see them taking the rest of this year off and then coming back next year with something, even if it's a one-off thing like Ghost Stories. Although thinking about it now, AHFOD was at the very end of 2015, so given the extra break, a 2020 release doesn't sound too far out there. Plus we still have Live 2017 to look forward to, which can help bridge the gap. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I love the way it sounds! Hopefully this is somewhat the direction they will head in, but it's most likely a one off thing just like Gone But Not F. Cotton. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
