We were meant to stir with the ladle? I thought that was for collecting poop for the shit stew and flinging the bits deemed unsuitable
  5. Oh cats, your assessment of the crotch as a suitable footing amuses me.

Too many cooks spoil the broth though...
  7. They just have talents in things like this
  8. I have a feeling this is moreso about two things: a) how the group of students define what is 'appropriate' for a yearbook b) a broader social issue: how sexy is too sexy? The latter is definitely the main issue playing into the situation. Personally: I can see the reasoning for the first picture being rejected. It looks more like a photo from a softcore magazine, in my own opinion... The second however seems fine. Sure, it's still got that posing thing going on, but it looks more like a photo of a woman going to spend the night in town having fun. But again... what's appropriate for a yearbook? What's too sexy? This is all perception... Those Bookface comments make me want to spit fireballs at the commentators... but that's the shit people spew on public Bookface pages. Wouldn't be surprised if some are actually being earnest in their thoughts instead of trolling though. If you want opinions NumbersGirl, I'm gonna post this in a feminist discussion group I'm a part of, and then post their general consensus of reply here. Usually the folk I've met there do a better job of grasping and describing the social issues than I :P
  9. Spoilers cuz the birds need describin' to distinguish their individuality, and big pics yo
  10. One point I will raise - this is a discussion-based forum, after all but do continue with whatever
  11. I can see quite a lot of this being an almost automatic reaction by teachers to call the police with classroom incidents instead of using discipline. They seem very complicit in this. I can so easily believe this. Most police here aren't trained to deal with the mentally ill or handicapped... so most likely a patrol officer wouldn't be either. Of course, when they don't know how to handle these situations, they try normal methods, which don't work, stuff happens... and the disabled kid is treated like a criminal in the courts. I also can see that this will be a huge issue in lower socioeconomic areas though, if it already isn't. Omg - what kind of fucking message does that send? Be a good citizen now, and you might not get arrested? Arggghhhh. Someone likens their kids to lambs, methinks. Look, I can understand having a security dude or some biz on-hand in case stuff goes too awry in a big school. But really... poor kids. This is part of a bigger picture though...

  20. Making homosexuality more of a mental disorder creates all kinds of problems as mental disorders already have a terrible social stigma around them. Ergo, yes, in this society having a disorder makes you seen as less than equal.
