yeah i understand what you guys mean. but doesn't that indicate that it isn't a good album rather than not an album at all. a good album should feel complete and coherent. and i don't see why the length is such an issue. i have countless very very good albums that are less than 38mins long. These Are My Twisted Words is probably one of my favourite radiohead songs, its the type of music that i really really love. i think most bands would feel the urge to throw a song of that quality on to their album but radiohead realised that it wouldn't fit with the rest.

what? its 8 songs and 38mins. it is very well produced and they've been working on this for quite some time. what about it doesn't make it an album? why can't we just accept that it isn't their best work and end this constant denial.

thats the only i have with SXSW. there are too many bands which makes it really hard to follow. and they're almost always overshadowed by established bands doing "secret" shows.

i know this action doesn't look very appealing but it had to be done. there was no way the international community could've sat back and watch another rwanda unfold. but the coalition needs to remember that their task is to protect the libyan people. not annihilate government and its army.

i'm amazed at how quickly future music has become one of the biggest festivals in the country. it had a bit of a hiccup in 2010 but they really stepped it up this year.

i would've opened with Last Exit but thats a great mix.

i personally hope kanye does this "tour" pearl jam style and does 25+ songs each night and changes up the setlist dramatically each night. if he manages to do that as well as put on a spectacle it will be a show for the ages. aussie fans: the splendour rumours are growing by the minute. correction: apologies to the great man. it was actually kanye who forgot the lyrics to Swagger like us not jayz

according to a few blogs it leaked a while ago. i would download it if i wasn't already so overwhelmed with new music.

the man can basically play anything from his 5 albums and still put on an amazing show. like you take that setlist and take away the jay-z stuff and replace it with his big songs from his other albums you have an equally mind blowing show.

Yuck made quite the splash at SXSW. so they're an act worth looking out for in 2011. has everyone heard Adrian Lux? the sweedish producer. if you're an american looking for a good brit band then Noah and the Whale is one you should keep an eye for. they've been doing well every where else for the last couple of years and are now trying to break the States. also the Vaccines are due to do big things his year. thats about all i've heard from SXSW. the main appeal for me of the festival would be the number of surprises performance and intimate performances. the stand outs have been foo fighters did a surprise show to launch their dvd, jack white did a short performance outside of his caravan, the strokes did a free show that caused a riot as did Death From Above 1979 and kanye west brought on the who's who of hip hop at his invite only show. tv on the radio showcased their new album.

after 100mins of madness i think the show is over. i've been glued to my computer for 3hrs and im fucking starving. time to get some food!!

well the moment we've all been waiting for. kanye will finally be performing in support of MBDTF (so far he has just short appearances) he is in Austin, texas tonight at the SXSW music conference and will be performing at the VEVO event alongside an all star line up. so far tonight we've seen mos def and pusha t and i think big sean just hit the stage. it has just passed 3am in austin. kanye isn't expected on stage until 4ish.

most if not all australian sports are run like that. our domestic rugby league comp has been running in its current form for 13yrs now and we've had 8 different winners. the only team has dominated the competition was caught for breaching the salary cap by 30% last year. the aussie rules competition is likewise. i mentioned a few posts ago that our current a-league champions the brisbane roar have gone into administration, which just shows you how little money has to do with success in this country. but by the same token you don't have teams that are amazing to watch because they are filled with superstars which is one of the biggest plus points for european football particularly the champions league. at the end of the day each format has its pros and cons and sport will always be awesome :D

ok the rest of it MGMT (seems like they've improved a lot, they're no longer trying too hard) dizzee rascal (i can't stand him but i gotta appreciate the fact that he is genuinely talented) pendulum (every song sounds the same but fuck they rock live) and of course the amazing chem bros, now the hosts said "this is the hour where we play the chem bros and then they went on to play onto play about 2mins of the performance. weird! and watching 10 000 people going nuts to the ABC news theme made me crack up laughing LMAO!!

watching channel v's coverage of Future. so far they've shown Mark Ronson (had no freken idea how popular he was haha) kesha (highlight was her pash with jane gazzo) art vs science (hollywood is still their only decent song) tame impala (wrong festival, too many drunk people not enough stoned people) the presets (good to know they're still alive) zowie (who? ) and zane lowe (why?) this coverage is much much better than their BDO broadcast which has become abysmal. it isnt saturated with shit interviews and gimmicks and they're actually showing acts people give a shit about. and they're showing several decent songs from each act, at least 3 or 4 hits in each case. well 2hrs left lets see how the rest is.

i would agree that technically La Liga is clearly superior to the EPL but in terms of how interesting they are to follow i would say EPL by a mile. of course much of that would have to be due to the amount of media attention EPL gets down here compared to La Liga.

if you go back 10 or 15 pages you'll find Lizzy's (whatever happened to her?) story from isle of wight i think it is, she had one helluva of a scary experience. and i'm not sure if standing in the californian desert all day without food or water is a good idea......i'm sure you can get very close without putting yourself in that situation. but i've never been to a festival as big as coachella before.

i'm not going to try and predict anything. rather just enjoy the brilliant football we have coming up. but a real v barca semi would be pretty epic!

^^ Soundgarden are a legendary band. you will hopefully love them. i bought The Great Impression by Sparkadia it was in a fucking jewel case so in the process of removing the millions of stickers i cracked the case :( would band please stop releasing albums in those ancient things and use digipaks instead.

well as most of you probably know by now. The Strokes finished a free show at SXSW just a few hours ago. it was an un-announced show and as the news spread a massive crowd built up in front of the venue. and naturally madness ensued.
