Radiohead
basically the rumour is that they might've recorded part of the album in her house in LA and thats why they thanked her. no confirmation from the band on that rumour, at least none that i know of yet.

TKOL or The Suburbs
i'll also add that i think a persons lifestyle has a big influence on how they enjoy their music. if you usually listen to music on the way to school/work and the trip is only 30mins you would prefer to consume music of a similar length. but if you're often taking long trips or if you always have music on in the background while you're at home (like me) you can enjoy a longer album.

TKOL or The Suburbs
never really been bothered with how short or long an album is. my favourite albums range from being 35mins to almost 90mins. i find that an EP doesn't tell us enough about a band. i'll always be of the opinion that a great band is judged on the quality of their albums not just songs. Coke FTW. there's a drug called pepsi? and The Suburbs by a very long way.

30 Day Song Challenge - DAY 01-DAY 30
there are plenty of songs that i really hate but i thought i'd would post a song from a band i actually think is half decent [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN0UZ1EM-Jk]YouTube - Green Day Know Your Enemy Official Video[/ame] the music is bland and monotonous. the lyrics are nothing short of pathetic.

LCD Soundsystem
might need to skip a few classes to watch the webcast :P

Radiohead
well i picked up a physical copy of the album today. just the normal edition so nothing special about it. it's a very no frills production. no booklet inside. just a few pictures here and there of course those now famous liner notes thanking "Drew Barrymore". its also cute how they thank their children :)

Concerts/Artists you have seen/Are planning to see
have you seen Foals before? if you havent you really should!! one of the best live bands i have ever seen.

30 Day Song Challenge - DAY 01-DAY 30
not an easy choice. but i'm feel pretty confident about this song. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbhsYC4gKy4]YouTube - Pearl Jam Alive[/ame] why? the opening riff is just killer. the 2min solo is incredible and even more so when the crowd chants along with it. the story behind the song is very disturbing, riddled with incest and confusion but eddie accepts that the songs meaning has been changed by their fans into a song about hope and empowerment. and i guess i just freken love it! i'm a ilttle sad that they didn't play it when i saw them live but i'm over that. 2011: Your Most Anticipated Albums
this is directed at the people who spend most of their time in this part of the forum. how many of you are actually anticipating coldplay's forthcoming album? i still really love the band and their music but they've been completely drowned out (from my perspective) by the shear number of major releases that have already been announced. my excitement over new albums from tv on the radio, battles, fleet foxes, arctic monkeys and now bon iver has pushed coldplay to the side a little.

White Lies
from reports i've heard they didn't really sell many tickets (possibly less than a 1000 for the entire tour) so it doesn't affect too many people.

Concerts/Artists you have seen/Are planning to see

Complete Festival Guide for 2011 (+Awards)
so who will get bottled at reading n leeds this year? i can't think of any at this point. maybe if they announce a hip hop act it might be easier. MCR got the treatment last time they played, they're headlining this time so thats less likely.

How good is The King of Limbs (a month later...)
personally i don't have an issue with the number of minutes or the number of songs. the downfall for tkol has been the fact that similar sounding albums have been released in the last couple years and they've almost all been far superior to tkol. and also because i'm a fan of their guitar driven stuff far more than the rest.

How good is The King of Limbs (a month later...)
IR is 4 minutes longer than king of limbs!! only 4 freken minutes. is that also a half album? sorry but all the fuss over the length of it is really annoying me. (thats what she said :p )

2011 Albums Worth Listening To
does anybody here like Rise Against? i wouldnt call myself a fan but i saw them last year and i've taken a fleeting interest in them since. their new album is far more accessible than their past work and actually sounds quite decent. punk music isn't quite what it used to be but these guys are doing a good job at keeping it alive to some degree.
