Mumford & Sons
ok to bring things sort of back in line. does anybody know how long MGMT play for at their shows? i know its all about quality over quantity. but i always find longer shows to be more satisfying and worth while. i paid about $US55 to see mumford and they did a solid 80min set which is incredible considering they only have 1 album. on the other hand Phoenix cost $80 and played for just as long.

have you listened to Is This It? easily one of the best albums i have ever heard. julians vocals are very unique and powerful. the guitar work is solid and gritty throughout and the riffs are seriously infectious. it's a great rock n roll record that never gets old. as for their 2nd and 3rd records, they were nothing ground breaking but still worth a listen. why are they so special? i wasnt much of a music fan back when they released their debut but i think they offered something new and fresh to a music scene saturated with pop punk and annoying-as-hell-turn-of-the-millennium electro. and they seem pretty incredible live too.

$US56 isnt too bad for a good young live band but MGMT have a very poor live reputation so thats a bit too much.

their album might not be anything special but they're well worth checking out live.

According to MediaTraffic Sigh No More was the 16th highest selling album of 2010 with 1.7 million sales worldwide. It beat albums by Kings of Leon, Linkin Park and Usher. Not only that, it also enjoyed most of its British and Australian success in 2009.

how is scoring an offside goal cheating? you cant blame liverpool cos the refs didnt pick up on it. if they paid off the refs or took drugs that would be cheating.

Daft Punk

not quite with you there. i would say Jet "cracked" america back in 2004 with are you gonna be my girl. they've have limited to no success over there since. same deal with wolfmother. my pick would be The Temper Trap. whatever happened to Silverchair's international fame. they were massive up until neon ballroom then Dioramma which is arguably their best effort did incredible things in aus but flopped else where. and then Young Modern which was also amazing didnt do much. where did it all go wrong? theyre making far better music now than they did when they were world famous.

listened to a RHCP album for the first time today since John left the band :( man i missed these guys. a couple of years ago i was their biggest fanboy, there were periods when i listened nothing but rhcp. yet i spent the entirety of 2010 having not listened to them even once. after being announced as the headliners for Summer Sonic fest in Japan there are strong rumours going around that they will head to australia in august for some come back shows. it's incredible to think that by the time they play summer sonic in july, almost 4yrs will have passed since their last proper performance which was Leeds Festival back in august 2007. both chad and flea have been really active during the hiatus but anthony hasnt so ive got the feeling he might be a little rusty.

Albums of the Year 2010 - Counting Down!
i think gorillaz will beat kanye. did we have an album of the year poll in 2005? would be interesting to see who won between Demon Days and Late Registration. imo those two albums are gorillaz and kanyes best efforts respectively.

the only time when i havent been able to find a CD in stores was the deluxe edition of the Fleet Foxes debut so I ordered it online from a New York store. it kinda gives the album more significance than if i had just bought it from my local record store.

a minor setback for man utd today but we have a couple of fairly easy games coming up. so picking up 6 points with those would be ideal.

2011: Your Most Anticipated Albums
oh how could i forget!!! i've loved EVERYTHING they've done to date (yes even their 3rd album, it had a couple of shit moments but the rest of it was brilliant guitar rock) i think for their new album they should build on the sound they had going on humbug.

Runaway or Runaway?
cannot vote. both brilliant tracks but neither is my favourite from their respective albums which just happen to be my 2nd and 3rd fave albums of the year. so im going to sit on the fence for this one.
