i think the eligibility period is August 2009 to August 2010. it's like that with most music award nights. i think the grammys have a cut off around september or october. which means by the time the actual ceremony takes place the nominations are very very old. i dont see why it takes so long for them to make up their minds. like did they seriously spend 5 months thinking about this and came up with Katy Perry as one of the best artists in the world?

mumford & sons have written and basically completed about 6 songs already so i wouldnt be at all surprised if we see something from them towards the end of the year. they've spent over 18 months on the road for Sigh No More so they will be very tired. but they are the "hot" band in the US at the moment so they would want to ride on that momentum. they wanted to take an extended break after their last album didnt do too well. so maybe early 2012? new arctic monkeys this year so unlikely. but im sure Miles Kane is desperate to work with Alex again. his own band has really struggled.

what do you mean? the festival has grown exponentially in the last couple of years which is quite the achievement considering the saturated festival scene we have here in aus. and they managed to get a more than decent line up in 2010. if soundwave is anything to go by, a poorly organised festival doesnt matter much if you can get a good line up.

Rated R is a great hard rock record but has nothing on Songs for the Deaf. a lot of that might have to do with Dave Grohls involvement on Songs.

yeah i left them out cos i already have all their B-sides. but good on em for cashing in on their success. they've worked very hard for a number years to get to where they are at the moment so they deserve to add a few digits to their bank accounts.

if even half of them release good albums this year i will be very very happy.

have they been playing their debut album in full at all their shows on this tour?

there is a school down the road from where i live where the teen pregnancy problem became so massive that they actually started specialising in dealing with pregnant teenagers. i dont know the actual figures but there was a full class dedicated to serving their needs in grade 11 and 12.

the only team i think you can compare to them would be the treble winning man utd of 98/99. but of course im a little biased :P
