As much as I love Coldplay, U2 will always be my favorite band. That being said, I hear no similarities between the two, except that Coldplay is influenced by U2.
  2. I've just discovered this band a few days ago. So far, I have Chase This Light, Futures, Clarity, and Static Prevails. Clarity is still growing on me, but I absolutely love the other three. I heard they're working on a new album, hope it's good! Chase This Light is one of their best albums. EDIT: I've been playing Clarity all day. What a great album. :)
  3. The new album is excellent! I think it's up there with The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, and Zooropa.
  4. It's not available on Itunes USA yet, but it's in the multimedia forum. That's where I got it. :)
  5. The obvious choices: REM U2 Depeche Mode Also: Keane The Secret Machines Muse Bloc Party
  6. Coldplay - Lost+ (with Jay-Z)
  7. I like it when Deluxe albums come out years after the album release, with a bonus disc of b-sides and outtakes (like what U2, Radiohead, and Depeche Mode have done.) It's even better if they're remastered with better sound. If it falls into that group, I'm always willing to rebuy the album to get the extra stuff.
  8. I don't believe that all governments are terrorists. There are some decent people in government, but it gets really dangerous when a terrorist or some really dishonest person gets elected (George Bush, for one.) Governments are there to provide order, everything would fall apart without them. Hamas were a terrorist organization long before they were elected. This is a group that will grab little children off the streets and use them as a human shield when bombs and rockets are flying towards them, or fire from school buildings full of little children, so that the Israelis are provoked into blowing it up, and little children are killed. They're not decent, they're evil, and they're waging a war against Israel (who were trying to settle this thing peacefully, and have now proceeded to extreme measures.) I don't agree with what Israel is doing right now, but it's a hell of a lot better than what Hamas were and are doing. Israel is only defending themselves, Hamas have been killing innocent civilians (including children) in Israel for 8 years. I understand their frustration.
  9. I like Green Day, but I don't own any of their albums or songs, I've just heard the songs on the radio. They're very good, though. I remember music circa 1995-1997, you couldn't escape Green Day, they were everywhere!
  10. Nine Days is a huge favorite of mine, not really similar to Coldplay, but you may like them. Also: Keane The Secret Machines Porcupine Tree Marillion The Pineapple Thief Travis Lifehouse The Goo Goo Dolls Muse Mew Elbow Dave Matthews Band Third Eye Blind Soul Asylum
  11. Nine Days - All My Reasons
  12. Yeah, he's dating someone from that play he did a while ago.
  13. Keane - Everybody's Changing (2002 Demo)
  14. What does the 40 year old virgin have to do with Coldplay? They aren't Asia, you know. :laugh3:
  15. Coldplay - Politik
  16. 1. A Rush Of Blood To The Head 2. Viva La Vida 3. X&Y 4. Parachutes
  17. Same here. One guy tried to find my personal details once, he said that there were three people with my name around my area.
  18. No, I think they sound great :)
  19. :P Gotcha. I guess I'm overly sensitive, because I think this band is severely underrated.
  20. I need to go to church. :( I'm sick right now, so hopefully next Sunday.
  21. God, I hope I didn't just give out my personal info. I put my real name and state in the box. :shocked2: I clicked off before it fully loaded, so maybe I'm safe.
  22. It was snowing all day here today. It's also unbearably cold outside, I'm really glad that I have a nice toasty house to stay inside.
  23. Man, that site is really freaky. Comparing Chris Martin to Jesus is not cool.
