Jay Leno 17 July NBC
Just Viva La Vida and Lost!, I think. But something pretty funny happens at the end of Lost!... ;) I guess I should be glad I wasn't actually there, since I would have been to short to see anything. :P But, my music-snob little brother apparently really likes Viva La Vida (the song), so... :D And it doesn't look like the link is up yet, so for those who missed it, here it is.

Latest ALBUM MEANING?
The stuff about Violet Hill is interesting...the song does sound like it's about the Bush "administration," and the video only makes that more obvious. I don't think "If you love me, Won't you let me know?" is directed at the government or media, though; does anyone honestly think the government loves them? If that ever happens, we're probably doomed. I can't agree with what you said about Death and All His Friends, though, because you ignored the main line, "I don't want to battle from beginning to end, I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge, etc." This pretty obviously sounds like they want pointless wars to end, and so they're refusing to fight in them. But most of all, this just sounds like you're trying to make us think the album is encouraging revolution in the U.S. to get rid of Bush, possibly replacing him with Ron Paul or someone similar. Keep a few things in mind here: 1. Bush's term is nearly over, and McCain's not doing so well. 2. Coldplay is British. 3. Chris said he likes Obama, and he's the songwriter. So uh...interesting interpretation, but I don't think it's what the band was trying to get across, for the most part.

I kissed a girl and I liked it....?!
Well the song...is awful, as far as I can tell. But: :dozey: No, it's not, and it doesn't. What if heterosexuals were outcasts instead? Based on your avatar, I doubt you'd change your ways, either. Neither side is evil. :laugh3:

What's on Chris' hand???
No, it'll be a picture of his hand, with a picture of his hand on that, with a picture of his hand on that, with...uh oh, infinite loop! :P

I have a confession to make
I got it about 2 weeks late...at Wal-Mart. They'll have to kill me first. :P

Game: Who was the Number 1 Single when you were born
March 19, 1988... "I Should Be So Lucky" by Kylie Minogue. Some cheap poppy-dance thing. :dozey: Far more interesting was the discovery of the top single in the U.S. (where I live) when I was born... "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. :laugh3:

Chris Martin Gets Cold Treatment in Beverly Hills
Well, just because he's the lead singer of THE MOST AWESOME BAND EV...er. Uh...that...doesn't mean he can go wherever he wants. Plus, there are a lot of famous people around there, and for Chris it's probably a nice treat to not get immediately recognized and ogled over. :P

The Most Disgusting Food I've Ever Seen
I think there's this "dish" called "French Dressing Cheese Fries" which has something like 3,000 calories and an absurd amount of fat. But it's hard to think of something that sounds more unhealthy than a BaconDonutCheeseburger.

Coldplay Fan Survey (it will only take a minute)
1. First related Coldplay memory? Hearing Clocks on an internet "radio" a few months ago, having somehow never heard it before. 2. Have you ever seen the band live in concert, if so where? Nope, too cheap/sensitive to loud noises/intolerant of huge crowds. :P 3.a Favorite Coldplay album? A Rush of Blood to the Head. b. Favorite Coldplay song? White Shadows. The fact that this was never a single--but Fix You was--is just unbelievable. By the way: stingfan, if #5 of yours is true, you have achieved epic win. :D c. Favorite Coldplay video? The "Dancing Politicans" Violet Hill video. 4. Most treasured Coldplay item in your collection? I guess that must be the VLV album since it's the only Coldplay-related physical object I have. :P 5. What was your craziest fanatic moment regarding Coldplay (ie. did you have to go at great lengths to see them live? did you do something really dramatic to defend Coldplay? etc etc.) For me I guess that would just be buying all their albums, because I only own about 4 or 5 that are not Coldplay albums. :o

New Yorks Time are now critising...Coldplay's MySpace Page
Did they decide they hadn't attacked the new album harshly enough, and they needed to make fun of something irrelevant that the actual bandmembers probably had no part in making to fit in with the cool Coldplay-hating crowd? We need a new name for the NYT, something equally stupid and inexplicable, like Ninny Yo-yo Tool.

Is Anyone Else...
:dozey: Now look, no one says you have to like X&Y. Hate it to its individual digital bits if you like. But this makes it sound like you think everyone who likes it is stupid. You can be cruel, but try to be fair, too. That said, the rest of your first post isn't very fair, either, though it at least doesn't attack whoever's reading it. You hate the lyrics for reasons you seem to think are obvious (they're not), dislike the band's abilities in vague ways ("Jonny is a crap guitarist", "Guy is just... Guy"), and even complain about the bonus tracks and the name of the album itself, as if the name affects its quality somehow. I wouldn't say you're being irrational (though you can bet someone will), but you're miles from being objective. On the lighter side, at least you're not this guy:

The Number 42
No, no, it's the answer to life, the universe, and everything; not just the answer to the universe. :P Don't go too nuts looking for it everywhere, though; try another 2-digit number and you'll find that one all over the place, too. There are lots of numbers around. (Unless it's 13. On a recent plane flight, I noticed the cautious builders had left off the 13th row, skipping straight from 12 to 14. :laugh3:)

Random/Useless Yet Interesting Facts
Er...actually there's one other thing. "The Wimoweh Song" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" are actually two completely different songs often played at the same time as if they were one song. No, I'm not making that up. I've heard "The Wimoweh Song" by itself, with no mention made of the other one, which came later. This might be why they got combined, though.

Random/Useless Yet Interesting Facts
Actually that myth's been busted, if you know what I mean. ;) Their bites are no worse than those of mosquitoes, and can't give you malaria. :dozey: Ok, a few of my own: You probably know a "byte" is 8 bits, that is, 8 ones and zeros. But for some reason, 4 bits also has a name that no one ever uses: "nibble." The word "Bookkeeper" is kind of weird because it has 3 double letters in a row. Adult mayflies and fireflies have no mouths, so if something doesn't eat them, they will die of starvation within a few days of becoming adults. :( Left-handed people live significantly shorter lives on average than right-handed people, but apparently no one knows why. :\ Graphite (pencil lead) and diamonds have the same chemical composition, but different structures. :stunned: There's an ancient light bulb in some random fire station that's been running almost continuously for well over a century and still hasn't burned out, possibly because the bulb contains a near-perfect vacuum, making the filament take forever to degrade. They really don't make 'em like they used to. :P

Rank the albums
1. A Rush of Blood to the Head: Still their most coherent one, plus it has Clocks. :D 2. Viva La Vida: Works pretty well even though the songs are really varied. 3. X & Y: Beats Parachutes almost entirely because of White Shadows. :stunned: 4. Parachutes: Well, where else can I put it? But I still bought it, and I almost never buy things, especially music. So it must be good. :P

NEW ALBUM IN 2009!!!!!!
I dunno...usually if bands do a self-titled album, it's their first one, because it helps get their name out. Making a self-titled one when you've already released 4 major albums and a ton of EPs and singles would be kinda weird. But then, Coldplay is kind of an odd band. :P

Coldplay dreams
It's annoying that I can't remember any of the really elaborate ones, they're usually pretty epic...and absurd, once I wake up. :laugh3: The only other Coldplay-related one I can think of was pretty uninteresting; for some reason they were having a concert at my school...in a building's nonexistant basement, and I don't think they ever actually played anything. :dozey: But I'll never forget the one where skeletons took over my preschool and locked us all in a cage. :P

Coldplay dreams
Harry Potter, spontaneous marriage, school, and murder all in one? Not bad. :P I wish I could remember the rest of mine, it was extremely weird...almost as weird as yours. Most of mine are so strange that I forget all the details and can only remember a sense of how completely insane it was. They sometimes get a little too realistic despite being completely ridiculous; whoever said you can't feel pain in dreams is gonna get slapped. By me. In a dream. Because I usually do have some sense of touch in dreams, even when I'd rather not. A while ago I had a typically random one, in which I was riding in a car that got stuck at some sort of toll booth. I got out and started walking around, then got chased down by a guard, who inexplicably sprayed me with a fire extinguisher. I immediately woke up, and the entire right side of my body felt extremely cold...much like it probably would if someone had just attacked me with a fire extinguisher. :stunned: It was kinda unsettling.

Get rid of Windows Defender if you can, since it's a useless security hole. Get this and maybe also this (there's a free version in there somewhere). And stop clicking on popups and adlinks. :P

Sure; I've probably had it already though. :P

Coldplay dreams
You people are lucky; you have dreams that make sense. Relatively speaking. I recently had one involving myself, one of my parents, a person I didn't know who was in a wheelchair for a reason I can't remember...and Chris Martin, who was apparently singing about, and to, the disabled person. All of this seemed to be happening in my house, at the kitchen table. The song was, as usual, one my brain threw together during the dream and forgot about almost immediately. Plenty of other stuff happened but it was all so bizarre I forgot it pretty quickly. ...Yeah, I don't think you can even invent a dream weirder than that. :P

Stuff White People Like: Coldplay
"Due to its big, sweeping sound, Coldplay’s music is perfect for montages about relationships in television and film. Because of this, many white people have listened to a Coldplay song on their iPod while looking out the window of an airplane or car, imagining that they are acting out a scene from a movie about their life. It is their secret shame and it is strongly recommended that you never bring it up with them." :dozey: "Their knowledge of music is very limited, and there is a 100 percent chance that they also like U2." "It is easy to think that all white people love Coldplay." :laugh3: Too bad those are in reverse order. Nobody makes fun of things creatively anymore.
