I'm glad I am not the only one who thought those voices were saying "What is happening". Such a haunting lyric. Especially due to the subject matter of the album.

OK Can anyone else recall Chris saying at the Christmas gig in 2009 saying to fans the album would be more acoustic and sound smaller? WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THIS!?!?! :( Also, they should have released charlie brown as the next single...Charlie Brown is better by a landslide.

This is bullshit.. I want old coldplay back. This album already blows, paradise isnt that good, and the rest of the songs other than charlie brown are crap. Yeah Im mr. negative but im not happy with everything

Well great news this morning! Next hopefully they announce some tour dates ;)

I think the reason why I am so disappointed with it is because I was expecting it be something it wasn't. I first was thinking it could be something along the lines of acoustic, because as you said matts05, Chris has said the new album would be along the lines of intimate, and acoustic. The next thing I was thinking the song might be was a "punkish" song. I just got that kinda feel from the Artwork for the song, and the pictures of the band in the new clothes. But instead we got a dance song.. I guess I was just too hyped from all the little teasers the band put out weeks prior. I applaud the band for going down a new path. I tend to enjoy things that are new, and fresh. Thats why I loved VLV so much. It was a new sound, to a familiar structure of songs the band are well known for. I always loved Coldplay for singing about big things in life. Talking about the good, the bad, and the mysterious. This song talks about dancing the night away.. (Hmmm) I think this song will always be known for one of their biggest mistakes, like it or not. This song is just not my cup of tea.

I asked the oracle how I can get my money back lol. I have listened to this song all day trying to like it. I cant do it. The song is just not good. Not because it is out of their "style", but because it is just a bad bad song. The keyboards to the guitar sounds cheesy (Dont get me wrong, the guitar playing is fantastic). I have a feeling the guys are in their mid-life crisis and want to do something that makes them be "current" and mainstream. That probably isn't the exact case, but it sure does sound like it. I am no longer a fan of Brian Eno. Eno did produce a great VLV record, but thats because I feel like the band had already written the music, and he just came in at the last second to record. But no since they started with him from beginning to end, he has just lead them down a crazy path. Eno always takes bands down this crazy path that always leads to destruction. Cough-U2-Cough. If this is what LP5 will be like, then I am no longer excited. Sorry Coldplay, It doesnt do it for me. <3

Dont like it. They had something going so great with VLV too. They have the Eno curse. Eno just loves to go off in a new direction whether it is good or bad. Its almost as if the band is going through a mid-life crisis and feel the need to be "hip" and mainstream. The lyrics are alright, but it still does not sit well with me. If this is what we have to look forward to for LP5, Im not excited
