  1. Yes you know what they say about religion, politics and I'll include "Coldplay old vs new era" haha a discussion rarely ends well haha I can understand you not liking those elements however what I do when a song has lyrics I don't quite relate to (Noel I'm looking at you lol) I try to make them relatable to me by giving it the meaning I want. For example life HAS a beautiful design! For an atheist it's just called evolution lol And I don't think they are shoving anything in anyone's face (also because Chris is not into any religion as far as I know) but surely everyone can agree that love is a good thing to look up to? So love is God is not a hard thing to relate to I'd think :)
  2. I didn't know that. It's certainly curious that they would do that. It doesn't irritate me but it certainly hints at the fact that Beyoncé is seen as being on a whole new level than Coldplay. I don't know why. Probably just because she's more popular. Neither do I know why people think the worlds greatest band would not be good enough for the show? It seems mystifying to me. I'm starting to think it's a self perpetuating thing. Having said Coldplay are boring in the past people just keep repeating it on automatic (most of them may not even know Coldplay work in later years). I think the SB will be their chance to show the world who they are now and then people can keep saying what they want but at least they'll be informed about it lol
  3. I don't know others but I came here to be among other people who are crazy about Coldplay and with whom I can geek about the smallest details I like in the songs and in the band. I come here precisely because I can reiterate how much I love this and that and actually find people who relate without thinking I'm Coldplay obnoxious like my friends rightly would hehe If I wanted to be inundated with Coldplay criticism and bashing lets just say a Coldplay fan forum is the not the first place that would pop in my mind hehe I totally understand some of the fandom is divided and so the people who feel they want to gather around their shared disappointment about the new work can do so (not being sarcastic here in the least, I think it's absolutely a legitimate right and need) and I'm happy they do in the Oldplayers thread so their comments are relatable to others. I have mentioned a few times I'm not so crazy about Parachutes but I certainly would not bash it or tear it apart or just write in detail how awful or terrible it is and how the band are complete morons (even if I did mean it) because I think it'd be very rude and disrespectful to the many people who love this album to bits. I must say I have not always found this respect to be mutual. So imo dissent, criticism, disappointment all has its place in a fan forum like this but reiterated bashing is the exact opposite of what a fan forum should be imo: a place where people who love the band can feel comfortable and safe in being well....fans :) I have read more a comment here of people not feeling "safe" to say they like this or that. This should be completely not happening in a fan forum of all places! Anyway my two cents on this.
  4. Hmm section 6 is slightly more away from the stage than section 19 on the other side, so this bodes well :)
  5. Did you buy them? Glad you found some tickets! Yes not many offers to be sure.... I found one pair of tickets in section 19 and I sure as heck am glad I grabbed them! :)
  6. Cool site! Pleased to see ASFOS is the most played song. Its also one of my absolute favourites. And the most used words say a lot about Coldplay in general! :daisy:
  7. Thought this might be the best thread to post this... Im listening to Parachutes again from beginning to end. And I must say I love Shiver, it has such a great melody but am I the only one thinking the lyrics are truly pathetic? *LOL* Totally understandable as Chris was a young lad when he wrote them hehe We´ve all been there haha But as a grown man listening to this I just cant relate at all...dont get me wrong I love women and for my woman I´d do anything, but this song is just pretty pathetic with all the "waiting in line", "waiting to see if you care" stuff haha Truly a teenager/young young man song...I used to relate, but not anymore. Am I the only one thinking this song´s lyrics are obsolete?
  8. I don't understand them because....they are puzzles? "Pulling the puzzle apart" , The Scientist? "Deciphering the codes in you" Square One?
  9. I don't think it will. This nonsense has been going on for a while...people are becoming desensitised to it I hope by now...
  10. Yes sort of, digging out all the "somber" Coldplay from GS backwards haha And God no the new shows are ten times better imo (from Viva onwards), but the quality of the music is as enthralling to me as the new music. Different style but just as great in my view! I also must admit I "like" them better as people than they were then. Chris seemed a bit too well I don't know...not sure arrogant is the right word, even his mention of Make trade Fair seems off despite the good intention, but I don't know its just like something was not right, was not clicking then, hard to explain, more a feeling I get from the way he is on stage and the way he speaks to the crowd compared to now. Now he´s just right and so much more at peace with himself, he found his place I guess...and it shows!

Might wait for the concert before buying stuff from the store. Still debating :/
  12. I never post here really cuz it's your place guys :) but I'm about to listen to parachutes again from beginning to end after years (after i finish live 2003) so I thought I'd celebrate with a little post here if that's ok with you :) [emoji16][emoji6]
  13. Damn I guess I'm a true coldplayer allplayer whatever it is we are called lol After ghost stories I pop in live 2003 (have not seen it in ages) expecting to find it well less entertaining but so far I'm just as engrossed haha I notice though how more serious they all were , you can almost see worry wrinkles on their faces. I'm happy to see how relaxed they are now and just enjoying themselves :)
  14. I agree. I think it's likely. I meant it's unlikely for all those I mentioned to make an appearance together hehe but who knows :)
  15. Give me strength reserve control... Politik from Live 2003
  16. Lol well coming to his defense, the boy's eyes are also on that level , not his fault haha :)
  17. I'm watching Ghost Stories and it's just so good too. Hope midnight , fly and another arms or always in my head make it to the new setlist. All of them unlikely but still I'd love to see them live!
  18. We did enjoy it too as a crowd !! It was an amazing gig! With double the xylobands too haha And yes I hope they play it in the new tour too. I hope to be hearing a lot from Mylo and ghost stories too!
  19. There will be more dates. Probably as many as 3 legs as the MX tour. AHFOD will be their biggest tour yet so they will go so many places! :)
  20. I so fervently hope they will play Midnight. I'm just dying to see that light harp and the song is amazing
  21. Tell me you love me...if you don't then lie to me. True love from ghost stories blu-ray
  22. Im just in the right mood to pop in Ghost Stories Blu-ray. Look forward to it as always :)
  23. Interesting article making several reflections. However I think it´d be good to point out that Hymn for the Weekend video , while honouring some Indian elements Coldplay certainly found inspiring, is not meant to be a "100% accurate tourist video" of India hehe So of course they are free to select and depict the elements they found inspiring or relevant for the video. I don't believe any of us expect indians to "play Holi all year around" just because we see it in the music video *lol* There are elements in each culture that tend to stand out and people keep talking about it, like The Little Mermaid and HC Andersen for Danes hehe I think its fine, I don't think stereotype is always synonymous with negative. However I disagree about chanting sanskrit hehe I think anyone should be allowed to do that if they are inspired by it as long as the inspiration is genuine, as for everything else. And about his Madonna quote, the thing thats wrong there is not that Madonna wears a bindi but that an "indian aunty" is made fun of for wearing it. The latter we should all stand against, but without demonising the former for no reason.
