  1. No, I haven't heard it as yet. But they went to a showcase last week where she performed mainly the new stuff. I'll try and find the review they wrote. EDIT: Okay, found it. It's from Aug 4. Just back from the Natalie Imbruglia gig tonight in Brighton, UK was at the Concorde2, an intimate and typically indie venue although i was glad to get tickets (after the gig was moved from the smaller Hanbury Club - where it had sold out)... my expectations for the new material weren't especially high - as I'm not overly impressed by the 'buzz single' "Wild About It" and other leaked track "My God". I was expecting songs that were quite middle of the road to be honest. however.... a LOT of new material was aired tonight (about 75-80%) and i was truly blown away! I'd love to know the set-list as the opening two tracks were amazing. Great beat, strong hooks - i can still just about hum them even though i can't remember any lyrics. I kept thinking they might be first single proper "Want" as the word was featured prominently in the lyrics... and then after singing first single "Torn" she introduced the next few tracks as being co-written with Chris Martin... you could hear that Coldplay kinda sound, a wistfulness and anthemic rock... then (about the 5th or 6th song in) she properly introduced Want .. quite a surprise! packs a punch! Sonically - has almost an early-mid 80s beat - a bit Pat Benetar or Kate Bush (circa-Hounds of Love)... a danceable rock track (the kinda thing that Ladyhawke might do - but harder) and with a lot of attitude that will definitely stand out on radio! She followed this up with another dark, up tempo track - which was quite different and daring... nearest thing I can describe it to, would be Goldfrapp circa Black Cherry... She seemed quite shy and reticent between songs! almost awkward but very sweet... - but this slight lack of stage presence was in complete contrast to the quality of her voice... which was faultless... and she connected with the audience completely through the songs alone... so i think this album is gonna be one to watch out for... she's playing more UK gigs over the next few weeks - so i look forward to reading more reviews...
  2. Nat fans on another forum I go on are raving about 'Want'.
  3. There's more to pop than that. It's anything that has an instant and catchy hook.
  4. There was some article that went with it and it mentioned him talking with a little girl who was some famous persons' daughter.
  5. Wait. It's from an event he went to with his brother in law, Jake Paltrow. I'm pretty sure it's 2008.
  6. :( Crap. Doesn't sound too good.
  7. Yeah, I don't think they'll do another video. They're not too keen on them (even though most turn out brilliant). I think SS is the last vid/single from the album.
  8. Agree. I don't have Apocalypso nor In Ghost Colours, but I love the singles from both bands. From what I've heard from others, IGC is a stronger record than Apocolypso, which goes a bit weird halfway through. I do intend on purchasing both very soon.
  9. Yeah. But I still love that bit. :)
  10. -It wouldn't take up downloads - All on one dvd - It's official.
  11. I really disagree. Parachutes pales in comparison to VLV. I like Parachutes, but their work on VLV is much better than that. As it should be. So, I'm very pro Eno.
  12. In My Place, Violet Hill. I always air guitar to those.
  13. Rock/Pop.
  14. This pretty much speaks for me: Reporter: Have you got a quote for the NME? Robbie Williams: Yes. Fuck off!
  15. That's the first thing I thought when I saw it too. Very intriguing.
  16. Everytime I go to Borders, they never have any Coldplay books on the shelves.
  17. *bows down*
  18. Teach me oh wise one. :P
  19. Square One is quite an epic song. It would have been a bit overwhelming to have both that and Politik imo.
  20. 19 turning 20 at the end of the year. And looking at how old some of you guys are, I feel ancient.
  21. Woke up, turned to VH and to my pleasant surprise they were midway through SS. HUZZAH!
  22. Correction: Since 2001. That was their first visit here for Big Day Out. :P
