Pitchfork's Top 200 albums of the decade: Coldplay nowhere to be found
It is a good song though. I do find it weird that out of 200, not even 1 Coldplay album is on the list. That perturbs me.

Are 'deluxe' albums worth it?
Good point, but then why do they put new tracks on them? I was in that dillemma recently with new Madonna GH. It had two new tracks on it, so I bought it because of them. If they had released them as singles (physical, NOT digital) then I wouldn't be bothered by the fact I spent $20 on essentially two songs. Side note, I don't own any U2 albums, but I find U218 is perfect for non-fans like myself.

Why do the Brits love knocking Coldplay?
In Australia, we call it the Tall Poppy Syndrome. Knock someone down when they get successful so it keeps them grounded. See: Kylie Minogue. There was a massive backlash against her in the early 90s here but she kept working and managed to win back the respect of the media by 98/2000.

Dannii Minogue 'wants Coldplay on X Factor'
What a pointless article. Don't make a big deal out of it- she was just saying they'd be welcome to perform on the sow. you know. To promote their work. Like other artists do.

Top 5 Viva Era Songs
Can I buy a vowel? This is hard. I'll come back to this. Edit: Top 5 5. Lost!: Instant for me. The hip-hop beats, the way the song grows and its message. Fantastic. The acoustic version scores points as well. 4. Strawberry Swing: Makes me think about a beautiful summer's day, rolling around on the grass. Great video and they pull it off live. 3. Prospekt's March/Poppyfields: love the mysterious, weary vocals and how it grows into the climatic ending. 2. Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun Mix): chose this as I think Reign of Love is a weak point and this mix adds something different. The song is beautiful too- make sme sort of nostalgic for a place I've never been too and a time I've never had. Double points for the video. 1. Viva La Vida: a career turning point. By far, one of the best songs from them. Looking back on 2008, this song defines that year and is definately one of the best songs this decade. Everything from the narrative, the violins and the church bell sounds majestic. Shame the vid lets it down. Honors list Lhuna: Yes, I'm biased, but it was so lovely to hear this duet. Sort of like 'Where the Wild Roses Grow' but less macabre. Love both Chris and Kylie's vocals. Life in Technicolor ii: Massive singalong! And the video wins points for creative genius. Glass of Water: Rock hard, rock long. Lovers in Japan Acoustic: I get a bit teary eyed for some reason. Love this interpretation.

Aussies: Coldplay on tv
Toronto gig has been played on Music Max, but it was during a Coldplay day a few months ago. First time to my knowledge. And that VH show and live 03 where played a few months ago.
