Yeah, I know. I got the lyrics wrong. I was obviously hearing something different when I listened to the song the first few times. Then I saw a printout of the lyrics and said, "Ohhhh, yeah. Regardless of any research, findings, etc., we should all try to do our part to make the Earth a better place. Try to conserve energy by turning off the tv when you're not watching it. Recycle plastic (ESPECIALLY plastic), metal, paper, glass, etc. Try to get a conservation movement going at your school. You'd be amazed what you can accomplish if you just try.

I thrash around like a maniac when I play White Shadows. I also slap out the beat to Cemeteries of London on my chest. Then I air-guitar the guitar solo.

I'm 37. I didn't start listening to Coldplay until X & Y. I remember hearing about a "big" new band on the scene with a new single called "Clocks". I caught it on the radio and thought, "catchy but a bit plain". So I dismissed them (at my age you're not as anxious to grab onto the new stuff, you're more content to just keep playing your old favorites). Then a friend (twenty something) told me how great they were and played me a few of their songs. I immediately went out and bought their three main CD's. :D My son (14) heard what I was playing and fell just as hard.

Red Rain is such a powerful song. Mercy Street still puts a lump in my throat. Ah, memories.

White Shadows. That songs ROOOOOOOOCKS!!! I think Coldplay should do more up tempo songs that rock hard like that. I put Talk (especially the second version), The Hardest Part, Moses, Cemeteries of London, and Chinese Sleep Chant all in that category and I love 'em all. Don't get me wrong though, I love the slower tempo songs, too.

Have the audiences been singing the "singing ah la la la la la aye!" part? That would sound really cool.

Hi Rudy, I got the nickname Polar Bear from a short story I wrote. I took all my friends from my job and made them into animals based on physical appearance and personality. (The main character is T.J. the Gopher.) I asked my friends to give me an animal and they picked Polar Bear. I'm kind of a big guy and sort of pale and I suppose I can be a bit gruff on the job. So now at work we sometimes call each other by our animal names. About the death thing, I've always wanted to be a hero of some sort. I guess the ideal situation would be to push the kid out of the way of the speeding truck AND make it out of the way myself as well.:laugh3:

I was in my Senior year of High School when you were born!:laugh3: But Coldplay is a band that attracts all ages. Have you seen Coldplay live or are you going to this tour? I saw a Nov. 17th date for Coldplay in St. Louis listed on stubhub.com, but no other site I looked at had anything about a St. Louis date. So I don't know if they're coming to St. Louis this time around or not. They are going to be in KC and of course Chicago. Unfortunately for me, the ticket prices are pretty far out of my range. I'm afraid I couldn't go see anybody when the tickets reach $100 plus. Anyway, I'm blabbing on... Drop me a private message sometime if you want to chat about SE Missouri or anything else.
