Plagiarism inverted!
After all the annoying plagarism accusations against Coldplay I thought we should have a thread in which we can list up the songs we think are a "plagiarism" of Coldplay. I just start with House of Cards by Radiohead, a really good song I think and it was on their album In Rainbows from 2005 (edit: 2007 sorry for this inexcusable mistake, does not change anything). I do not know much songs from this band and just listened accidentally today to this song and my first thought was after a few seconds - that's so much Coldplay!!!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nTFjVm9sTQ]YouTube - Radiohead - House of Cards[/ame] Can you guess the song I mean?

One thing you don't like about Coldplay?
Most answers here were not so very serious but that's ok because there is indeed not so much negative about Coldplay. Just one thing that is bothering me...their way into the mainstream. I am a little bit afraid about what's coming next. Will there be a fifth album which is popular but has a lack of the typical Coldplay sound again? I think of the calmness and the profoundness of Parachutes for example. Or the songwriter moments of A rush of blood to the head and the sad melodies of X&Y. Don't forget the untouchable sound of Pre-Parachutes. Don't get me wrong I love Viva la vida and all the songs on it but I see a development that I don't really like. It started with X&Y but I think it's much more obvious in the Viva la vida era. They start to make music for the masses, it seems like they do not want to offend anyone. Except of 42 and maybe Yes there is no song with rough edges. I don't think that it's only their fault, we have to consider that there is a big company behind them. We do not know how much artistical freedom they really have. In a time in which you cannot make much money with just selling your cds you have to go on big world tours. To fill the halls you have to make music everybody likes. After the tour you are outworn and maybe not able to be as creative as you usually are... Just a thought. I'm really happy if I'm wrong about it and the next CP-Album will be the greatest thing we've ever heard in our life.

A whisper
Does anyone of you also like A whisper? Don't you think it's one of their most underrated songs ever? At first I really did not like this song for a long time while listening to A rush of blood to the head. I've always skipped it but then I "forced" myself to listen to it while driving and after a few times I began to like it. Now I think this is one of the most special songs they ever made. It's outstanding because Chris' voice and the melody is in the background but nevertheless their is a certain dynamic to it that I can't describe in technical terms, because I'm no professional musician. However to my ears the instrumental arranging (especially the guitars) is so following and everytime you listen closely to this song you can discover so much new facets in it. It underlines the lyrics very well, that there is the fear of time fading away.

Coldplay- Gravity
Gravity is amazing Did you know that Gravity was in the soundtrack of a movie called Miss Conception with Heather Graham? I was very surprised that even a B-Side of them is in a movie.

Leona album 'inspired by Coldplay'
Leona Lewis is such a nice person and her cover of Run was not so as bad as people, she just turned a rock song into a pop song. I love both versions of Run.

Never been to a concert...To Do's?
 Thank you for the advices, I've been to a few concerts but you can learn something out of it nevertheless ;) I would like to have the butterfly confetti, take a few photos, buy the tour programme, of course get the live cd and have a lot of fun! That's what I promised myself! :D To Point 8: I just had to laugh about it  To Point 7: Sadly it's an phenomenen that most of the people at a concert are not real fans of the band, they just come to get entertained so they seem to fall asleep. At my last two concerts (not CP) I just sang along real loud to my favourite songs, danced and screamed a few times. People around looked at me like I was crazy and some idiots even had to comment my behaviour. I hate these folks, please stay at home and watch a dvd, that's cheaper for you slowpokes :P Now I'm worried that I will be in the same situation again because I have a seat rather in the back of the arena :\

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I agree completely, I love this song so much I would even trade it with The scientist if I had to decide between the two...

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Crest of waves - we have great weather today and it makes you feel like you were on the beach

The Snow Patrol Thread
How was the concert? I like some songs of them, especially Run that's one of my favorite songs ever ( even better than a lot of songs of CP) but I think that they don't play it well live. The album version creates a real atmosphere which distinguishes in their live versions, I don't know why....maybe because they play it unplugged. And the singer has a such a crappy live voice, that's why I love Chris! ;) I also like Shut your eyes - and to the other songs I could not get an access yet.

CD Giveaway from within the 2009/10 shows - post your experiences
Hmm that's crappy for the fans who did not get a cd and dangerous too for the people who distributed the cds and the fans who wanted to get one. I already had this on my mind when they told that they will give the album out at the concerts. Then we speculated that they will give them out at the entry and I did not think of it any longer. However, considering the security standards there is a problem with this method: giving out the cds out at the entry means that everyone has a cd in the hall and some crazy people could break and abuse it. Giving the cds out later is also no possibility as we have seen. When there's no organisation there will be chaos cuz people are so ignorant. I can't imagine how people even come to the idea of pulling the boxes away from the distributers - what do they want with a box of full of the same cds?? They won't get rich by selling them on ebay. :\ So it's not so easy to solve this problem if anyone has an idea please post it. I'm worried about it, maybe the distribution of the cds at the concerts will be stopped because of this s***.
