Confirmed: Coldplay to give away live CD 'LeftRightLeftRightLeft' at 2009 shows | Tracklisting | Art
Just heard about it today, sorry for living behind the moon ...but didn't they announced a few months ago? So it wasn't that big surprise for me, but an official statement makes it much better, I get this point. I will go to one of their concerts so I'm looking forward to my physical copy, it's something different than just a download. Sadly not everyone of you can get the CD, I would share if I got more than one but I'm going all alone, none of my friends wanted to pay so much money for CP :escaping: Just have to say 1000 times thank you to the guys and the management....what a great idea!

Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
It is very hard to put the albums in a specific order because they are much better than most of the albums of other musicians in my collection. 1. Parachutes Last year I became a fan of Coldplay by listening to this album. For me it's their best album because all songs have a certain quality. The songs are emotional but not cheesy. Chris sounds so vulnerable and the instruments get so well with each other, Don't panic is a perfect example for it. It is the only album of them I can dream with, it can put me into another state of mind, it gives me chills. Top 5 Songs: Don't Panic, High Speed, Trouble, Spies, Shiver (no specific order) 2. Viva la vida or death and all his friends Was hard to choose between AROBTTH and this one for the second place, but I think VLVODAAHF is much more an entity - just a complete album with great different songs on it. I like every track on this album so I put this on the second place. It has a certain strength, it sounds so enthuastic and I can feel the revolutionary thoughts that Chris and Co. had in their head while making this album. Top 5 Songs: Death and all his friends, Lovers in japan, Lost, Violet hill, Life in technicolor 3. A rush of blood to the head For critics it is probably their best album. And they are right it is a great profound album, with a lot of top songs it it and the lyrics are amazing. I could not build up such a great connection to this album. VLVODAAHF is a bit better to me because it seems like every song is about the same album-topic, so it does not sound like all the tracks are just diced together. On AROBTTH this is the case and I don't like some tracks on it. But these are the only negatives things about this album. Some songs are gorgeous and much better than the most on VLVODAAHF. Top 5 Songs: Politik, Amsterdam, The Scientist, Clocks, AROBTTH 4. X & Y Last but not least X & Y, also the last I album I bought. Most of the songs sound great if I listen to them superficially, I love to listen to it in the car. The lyrics are ok, although they were better in the past. A plus is also that there are a lot of tracks on the album, but it is like Chris said it is better to have less songs with a certain quality. I unfortunately have to add that the sound of is so equal on every track, kind of overproduced and Chris sings too high on most of the tracks. Sometimes the melodies are too simple. There is also no song that I would put on my alltime favorite list. It seems like CP was trying so hard that they forgot about their old principles. Nevertheless it is still a great album, much better then a lot of albums I have from other artists. Top 5 Songs: Speed of sound, What if , The hardest part, A message, Square one

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
When you stay up although you're tired to death just to listen to a bit more Coldplay songs. I can't listen to them during the day so I have to keep it up in the evening :)

Wow...
I adore the track, it should have been on VLV as a hidden track behind Death and all his friends, that would have been a great surprise...

Does anyone like the instrumental version better??
Yep, I also think the instrumental version (you mean LIT1) is much more special than the one with the vocals (LiT2). When you're listening to it you concentrate more on the instruments, which are the most beautiful part of the song, it's just pure. Lit2 is not bad, I also like Chris' vocals but I'm happy that there was LIT1 on the album because it is a perfect intro.

Meaning of the lyrics
I think the whole lyrics express to go on no matter who or what will try to stop you. And to not lose hope, expressed by the beautifule metaphor "Osaka Sun" - I love this expression. They are turning my head out To see what I’m all about Keeping my head down To see what it feels like now But I have no doubt One day, were gonna get out People want to know everything about the person and they want to change he or she, "keeping my head down" expresses that the person is sad about this but it also shows kind of a resistance, because nobody can turn the head around while you keeping it down. In other words: The person closes him/herself up to save himself/herself. The line that makes me wonder is: Soldiers you’ve got to soldier on Sometimes even right is wrong - maybe it is about war and about following the instructions although it might be a wrong action...as in life keep your line and do not think a lot about it ?

LP5 Discussion Thread[Updates in First Post]
Oh that's a tough question because I love all of their albums, even X&Y is much better than a lot of stuff in my collection, so I have a lot of trust in Coldplay... :D If I could choose without thinking a lot I would like to have Parachutes part 2 with some current issues on it. OK that's very unrealistic  and I'm not sure if it would be the best thing. No seriously, some points are important to me: - Chris' vocals - he should keep on singing a little as low as on VLV, but not all the time - I would agree that there will be some more heavier guitar riffs, something in the direction of Violet hills but more developed.... - A few songs with only a few instruments...not too much production please - Melodies should be as good as ever, lyrics could be a little bit better, since AROBTTH they did not improve - Jonny should make the guitar cry a lot - especially on some very sad songs, I love it :smug: - Please no more U2 influences or influences of other bands therefor some typical CP hymns - A collaboration with other stars is also not necessary (especially not the one with Kylie, I do not like her) - Last but not least: they should surprise us and the world with a great innovative sound, that nobody can say anymore: " Coldplay just covers other people." I hate people saying that.

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
Do you have the link, did not liked to read the whole thread, so I post it: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiTykAM1gl8]YouTube - Chris Martin Is A Wanker Says U2 Bono Live On Radio 1 With Jo Whiley! (Jokingly)[/ame] I'm speechless about this. I always thought Bono had a brain in his head but I was so wrong with it :D . Honestly I must admit I don't know him very well and don't give much for U2 but I always appreciate his charity work and his music. The funny thing is that we already had the discussion a few days ago about the rivalry between the two bands. You could assume that Bono has read that and wanted to foment it :D. I do not have the clue about Bono's motives, maybe he is just pissed off hearing about Coldplay, but I do not think he is jealous. My interpretation: The w- word could be a joke, not a very funny one indeed. To say something against this theory you can hear that the other insults came so quickly and in an annoyed tone that you cannot think of a joke anymore. It just does not sound like fun. I did not even know the word cretin and had to look it up - so Bono thx I've learned a new word :laugh3: . And how does he know that Chris has a dysfunctional character, were they ever so close to each other? Bono is immature although he is so old, that must be kind of embarassing for him so he has to insult other genius people to feel better.

Coldplay In Your Life Soundtrack
The songs do not describe my whole life, but they fit well into my current situation. I think that's one of the reasons I love their music just for a short time although I've known Coldplay for years: -Trouble - lyrics speak for itself -Lost! - " -Shiver - was just a very short and rather inconsiderable situation in my life but the song turned the perspective for me and I could also look on the other side -Square one - in the way I interpret it for myself -Lovers in japan - lyrics speak for itself
