  1. I had to google it to find out if you were making one of your famous word games or if it was a real song :laugh3: I didn't know this one, I'm not a Cabrel expert, I'v only got the live 'best-of'...
:sweatdrop: )
  3. Yeah, we already talk about him  My favorite song by him (no It's not 'Petite Marie') but La Corrida (protest song against the 'sport' corrida. He sings from the POV of the bull....It's heartbreaking  ) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt1a6NWKgzs]YouTube- francis cabrel la corrida[/ame]
  4. Yep! Bertrand Cantat was dating famous actress Marie Trintignant (daughter of two famous movie directors). He was very possessiv and one day, he beat her to death. She was taken to the hospital but it was too late... He was sent to prison and sent there 3 or 4 years...He was liberated 2 or 3 years ago but since his arrestation, Noir Desir didn't write anything or perform. They just release a song on the internet 2 years ago I think  Anyway, this story caused a great shock in France and now Marie's mother milits for the violence done against women.
  5. This :smug: Jeff is god. Check out the Live @Siné and Live @the Olympia. Best stuff!
  6. Well, that would be tough since I'm not really into french music. My holly trilogy is Renaud - Tété and Bénabar (that I didn't mention earlier) but they're not new :\ As 'recent' and good, I advise you AaRON. As not new but good, I advise M (pseudo of Mathieu Chedid). Good guitarist and composer. He did a duet with Sean Lennon a few years ago ^^ He has a high pitch voice and a crazy costume but he's very talented & respected. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOa64VrGZO4]YouTube- Sean Lennon et M - L'eclipse (duo) clip[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLxV4qVnTxI]YouTube- -M- Qui de nous deux.[/ame] Popular too, Renan Luce (who is married to Renaud's daughter :wink3: ) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Vv5sDQ9aFU]YouTube- RENAN LUCE - La lettre[/ame] A girl that is really popular too is Anais. She sings funny songs and this one was a massiv hit where she mocked couples in love because she was single (and jalous :P ) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlU8pUVQwUw]YouTube- Anaïs - Mon coeur mon amour[/ame] But I'm not really a good judge  --edit------- Noir Désir: good band but not really popular anymore since the leader killed his girlfriend (a famous actress) by beating her to death....
  7. In terms of voice, I agree but on the lyrics, Renaud is way better to me. +10000 We love our cousins' singers :) I like Bruno Peltier, he has a great voice but I don't listen to him much...My brother-in-law on the other hand is a huge fan of Isabelle Boulay! Les cowboys fringuants are really popular in France ^^
  8. -Tryo have very funny and also very 'engaged' (?) songs (about ecology, society etc.). I love 'désolé pour hier soir' which is a tale about a guy who's always drunk when he parties and the song is a long apology to his friends who are making fun of him cause he did stupid things XD -Indochine is a true classic. They are loved by every generation (from people around the age of their members (around 45-50 years old) to teenagers) and one of the only french band that could fill stadiums AND do rock. -Benjamin Biolay is overated to me...good songwriter but always high....>.> -Olivia Ruiz was a former contestant in a reality show around 'music' called 'Star academy' (kinda like big brother mixed with Pop Idol). She didn't win but it allows her to build a carrier with artists she really liked. Don't really like her but she has some good songs. -Phoenix got a huge boost this year with their new album but their are around for quite some times now. They didn't get much exposure in 'mass media' in here but if you listen to the good radios, they have always been there. Some artists that I like: -Tahiti 80, a 'feel good' band, they make pop/rock/electro music and sing in english. They are very good live (and sweet lads) and for some strange reason, they are very popular in Japan XD [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaeG5LYM5dg]YouTube- TAHITI 80 - Unpredictable (clip officiel)[/ame] One artist I really love is the singer/songwriter called Tété. All his songs are little stories about the evryday life or society. Some are funny, some are sad. His most famous song is this one [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOdo8BHvQPM]YouTube- Tété - a la faveur de l'automne _clip[/ame] One band that is very popular here is Cocoon. They write folk songs in english. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgR-rSy7_Fo]YouTube- Chupee - Nouveau clip de Cocoon[/ame] One good band that is better in my opinion, is AaRON (Artificial Animals Riding On Neverland) (also sings in english) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km9BxAE9apM]YouTube- AaRON live - U-turn lili[/ame] @MariePeter18: Francis Cabrel is good but I prefer Renaud ^^ He's a true poet (his songs are even studied in class!)
  9. I went to see it in a small theater in Notting hill (which had only 2 screens) and the place was full!!! :stunned: Robert & Jude sure know how to bring the love
  10. That's one of the reason I love sometimes my country...we're in the 'center' of Europe, hence a few hours away for greats states and cities ^^ I bless the inventor of the Eurostar! I already have posted it here but in shitty quality, but here in HD the teaser of season 4 *w* [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-H2Z__rK0U]YouTube- The Tudors Season 4 Teaser Trailer[/ame] Thomas Seymour with his new beard seems fiiiine.... our beloved Charles is still missing though :/ I don't remember if I told you but I have converted a friend to the show (the one that came with me in London) and she focused on Henry Cavill too...How bizarre....XD
  11. I red that Brad said he was never offered the role or he declined it...I don't remember exactly which one but it will not be him. Anyway, my favorite Moriarty will always be.... :D :D :D --edit---------- For Brad best performance, watch him in 'Babel', he's absolutely heartbreaking and 'real'... And for fun, his role of the goofy/stupid gym professor in 'Burn after reading' XDD
  12. This movie was good! Loved it!! Robert was amazing as usual, and Jude better than I expected! Now I cant wait to see the sequel... I love Wonder who will play him though...
  13. She's very popular in here. We discover her through Julien Doré (see post above) for whom she was opening at his concerts :)
  14. +1000000000000 It's too late now for releasing a Viva era video. This project must have been dropped out....too bad.
  15. Our new first lady/ex-model! She seems to be very popular outside our borders but in here we find her very boring... @EmmaLouiseSmyth: Coeur de Pirate is canadian ^^ (well quebec), a little cousin! She sings beautifully. She made 2 duets with a french singer I like.
  16. We expect a full review!!! :) A fake show she did for Stella Artois :laugh3: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwCF3YnRteE]YouTube- Florence et La Machine[/ame] love the 60's vibe!
  17. September, what a month!! Paris' gigantic gig, my birthday and Wembley (19th). Not too bad this year :D
  18. Bonne année Charlotte!!! Alors, c'était bien chez Mickey?!!!
The House of Parliement etc éclairés. Les parcs évidemment (s'il fait beau). C'est touchant d'aller 'where the magic happened'! Je suis pas restée longtemps, juste le temps de faire un pola (et un double numérique en cas de ratage que voici) et puis une petite photo 'I was there'
  22. HAPPY NEW YEAR my dear tudors addicts! I'm back from London where the city was fussing around the 500 anniversary of Henry's accession to the throne! Since I had a London pass, I had access to a lot of monuments and o course, I did a little Tudor pilgrimmage!!! As promised, here some photos of it!!! (I'll put them under spoiler to take less space) First day in London, we went to Hampton Court (because it was not raining  ). It was cold though (some guy slipped on ice descending from the train :stunned: ). The palace is very big but gorgeous and there is a lot of activities and animations in the castle! The day is divided in different animations around Henry & Catherine Parr's wedding. As a visitor, you can dress like a courtman :D . I assist to Henry's arrival to the palace (bow+kneeling required XD) and endured his little speech about how he will soon kick France and King Francis ass.... :dozey: Then I saw the 'dressing' of Catherine Parr for her wedding. They explained to us all the pieces of her wedding dress, the differences of style between english and french fashion and how you put them on ^^ As a costume addict, I was thrilled! Then I visited the castle (met the king and queen on my way XD) and the kitchen where real cooks were cooking meals of the period! (they didn't offer tasting but smelled good!!). I didn't spend much time in the gardens (freezing too much). But overall, it was magic and I highly recommend it! Here some pics of Hampton A few days after, I went to the Tower of London, which I had already visited on a school trip many years ago. It was raining badly that day and we were freezing! I haven't many pics because we weren't allowed to take pictures on some part of the tower, especially on the 'Dress to kill' exhibition where some of Henry's armour where exposed. It was very interesting to see the evolution of his armours (which became larger with age XDD). Once again, a very interactiv exhibition but no pictures allowed.) Here however what I managed to take from outside: If you visit the Tower, I higly recommend to take the audio guide which is very instructiv. Of course, I went to the donjons and saw all the tortures instruments...It's as discusting as I remembered the first time I saw them XD There is a place on the momument where the crown's jewels of Elizabeth II are exposed but there are not many. I saw the DVD of season 3 many times at shop and HMV but they sold it 29£ (which changes in € is much higher that what it will cost in France) and the cover is not the same as us. As for the bonus, they had the bloopers and some documentaries. So I didn't buy it. So voilà for the Tudor's part of my trip!! Hope you enjoyed it!!!
  23. TV in France, TV in Belgium... You're beginning to be famous!!!
