The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Guys, help. I need a new band to stalk until Muse tours LP6.

How much did your coldplay tickets cost???
Too freaking much. Haven't attended a Coldplay concert since mid-2009, but I think U2 is the only concert (non-festival) I've been to since then that cost as much as Coldplay did. This includes bands who played the same venues I saw Coldplay in.

Bands that you can't stand, but respect?
I thought we had this topic recently, but maybe I'm thinking of a different forum. Oh well. My choice is Oasis. Though I like some selections from their first two albums, they mostly grate on my nerves (and yes, that includes "Wonderwall"). Still, they put quite a mark in the British rock world, despite their negative antics gaining the most press. Bands like Arctic Monkeys probably wouldn't have gained the momentum they have without Oasis paving the way.

I tweeted this too, but I can't believe this realization just occurred to me - I got Citizen Erased more times than I got Feeling Good on this tour. LMAO. Oh yeah, please vote for my dumb contest entry: http://board.muse.mu/competition.php?s&pp=25&search=moe%27s+tavern&minscore&maxscore&sort=randomvoted&order=asc

The Snow Patrol Thread
Best Snow Patrol video ever.

Come to think of it "Take a Bow" was the only rarity played in North America that I didn't get this tour. Probably says more about Muse mostly wanting to play hits over here rather than their best material, but at least I can say I got Bliss, RBS, Citizen Erased, and B&H. That said, New Born is probably toast next tour since it got dropped in the latter part of last year. Bring on LP6!

Foster The People
Tried catching them at both Lollapalooza and Outside Lands but the crowds were a little ridiculous at each. I'm still amazed at how quickly these guys have blown up. Overheard a lot of MGMT comparisons from the crowd since they were playing opposite at OSL, though I think Foster the People performs better live (because let's face it - MGMT is cool but they sound like shit live).

I come bearing Outside Lands pics (including a decent shot of the 7-string and the 2nd Dom pic is probably the best Dom pic I've ever taken):

PMS is hitting me so hard right now that I don't even feel like tweeting Chris even though he's online. The Wolstentweet effect sort of wears off after you've spoken in person to the real thing, but still, I usually have an urge to send him something silly at the very least. Nope, nothing. Pics tomorrow, I promise.

Finally home from OSL. No more Muse for a long time. :bigcry: You were barrier on Matt's side too? I couldn't have been far from you. I was three people left of the center divide. Tom actually recognized me and remembered my face. :stunned: That's when you know you've stalked a band one too many places. :laugh3: We made signs for Chris to throw the harmonica to one of our friends, and he saw them and did! I tried getting a setlist but someone else I knew got it instead by kissing up to security all day. Took a Plug In Baby balloon home instead as a sort of consolation. Will try to get pics up ASAP. :)

What score will Pitchfork give Coldplay?
The first 3 albums scored in the 5.0 range and yet Viva la Vida somehow got a 6.9 or something, so Pitchfork clearly has their heads screwed on backwards when it comes to Coldplay. Judging by the crap we've heard so far from the album, I'd say it will almost be worthy of Pitchfork's Best New Music stamp, but not quite. They'll give it a 7.8 so it can still be below The King of Limbs.

Cecilia needs to know that it was NOT a normal Muse experience. Go to an arena show and learn what I mean. Though getting B&H for 3 shows in a row is pretty damn awesome.

That was the most brutal crowd I have ever experienced at ANYTHING music-related, and security couldn't do a thing because "the festival makes the rules and we can't help anybody out or our bosses will get mad at us". According to my friend who had gone to 24 shows on the Resistance tour, this was worse than Wembley Night 1. It was packed so tight that I couldn't even jump during Muse. That, my friends, is not a proper/pwopa Muse concert. Regardless, got some good pics and was happy to get Citizen Erased again. But after tomorrow, I will not be attending Outside Lands in future years unless IMMENSE modifications are made. A disaster compared to past festival experiences.

On barrier right now. Matt's side. Taking advantage of my rare 3G connection to say hi to you guys. :)

My 7th and final Muse show of the Resistance tour tonight. Both excited and extremely freaking sad. :D :bigcry:

A) The Pains of Being Pure at Heart were my biggest disappointment of Lollapalooza. Left early. B) LP5 forum (now MyLOL ZyLOLto) users are morons.

Leaving for Outside Lands in about an hour, so expect more sparse activity from me until early next week. Then, no more Muse for me for probably over a year. :bigcry: Also, I think I have a problem - meeting Muse members 3 times over the past month (I've met them all now!) has pretty much turned every other band encounter into a downgrade. At Lolla, I was able to talk to Two Door Cinema Club, Friendly Fires, and The Joy Formidable, and they were all cool and nice, but it didn't seem that...significant. I'm spoiled as hell now. I dunno, bands probably actually like that when fans approach them like normal people. Whatever. Since I'm no longer nervous to say my worst to bands, I now intend on meeting Chris Martin and telling him that TDCC thinks he's a douche. :laugh3:

BEST ONE OBVIOUSLY: I know the feeling all too well. :laugh3:

It's okay, you only have another week before I'm miserable again and descend into the worst Post Muse Syndrome ever. That said, I do find it ridiculously awesome that after 4+ years of being a hardcore fan, everything has suddenly fallen into place over the last month when it comes to meeting them. (3 separate encounters? Still trying to convince myself it's all happened.)

OMG I kept heckling Kirk during the game, especially since most people were shouting things to Chris instead. He was clearly the worst player out there. During a break, I yelled out "Tom, your dog is more athletic than you!" and he responded "Thanks, I trained him well!" Cue immense laughter.

Another totally shitty day where I didn't run into anyone from Muse:

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Heeheeheeheeheeheehee I trolled the Lolla thread in the Coldplay section and got the exact responses I wanted, specifically "COLDPLAY HAD A BIGGER CROWD EVEN THOUGH MUSE HAD A BIGGER STAGE AND FIELD". In other news, Justin Bieber puts on a better show than Coldplay if we use that same logic and follow crowd count to determine quality. :P Okay, pic time. Probably the best Muse pics I've taken yet. This is just a small selection. I have countless others on my Facebook. I made that album public for the meantime. :)

Ellie Goulding
Saw her again at Lolla and bagged myself a pair of Starry Eyed glasses.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Psst...Violet...I took lots of Wolstenholme pics. I even unknowingly got a few ass shots during Helsinki Jam. I took over 70 pics of Muse alone, so once I upload them to Facebook, I'll just link you all to a public album instead of trying to post them all here. :)

[5-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Lollapalooza Festival, Chicago
Haha nah, I have my laptop in the hotel, although access to Wi-fi is extremely sporadic thanks to the number of people staying here for the festival. And if I didn't like Coldplay, I wouldn't have stuck around these forums. ;)
