The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Yep, The Resistance is their worst album. not a bad album, but a certain notch or two below their previous work. (Picks up in the second half, though. Each of the last 6 tracks on the album is better than each of the first 5 tracks IMO.) lol not you :laugh3:

You're right, this is strange and unusual. I'm now going to talk about my sexual fantasies involving Florence Welch. You know how I like a little ginger with each of my meals? Well, I like a nice, elegant, 5'11" British ginger with my dessert. :wink3:

I love "Assassin", but the "Grand Omega Bosses Edit" version is even better. They scaled the song down a bit for the album. "Invincible" is probably the song on Black Holes & Revelations that I'm least fond of, and I've never been that enthusiastic about SMBH to be honest. Absolution is still my favorite album by anyone ever. If they play an Absolution anniversary show on the moon, I'd probably go to it.

I assume you're referring to HAARP, a CD/DVD release from their Wembley 2007 show. The audio is available on iTunes, and you can find physical copies of the CD/DVD in stores pretty easily. Glad to have you on board! :):)

It's pretty fun. Reveals for The Resistance took place back when Twitter was just picking up steam, so there were slow leaks on there, in addition to that whole scavenger hunt they did for USOE. Then BBC Radio 1 was supposed to premiere Uprising but like 20 different stations beat them to it, including my local station KROQ. :laugh3:

Robyn covers Coldplay's ETIAW
I'm usually extremely picky when it comes to electronic music. I won't listen to much of it. But Robyn is incredibly addictive to listen to.

Q302 - September 2011 - 'Laughing Boys' article (Coldplay) - Scan and transcript on pg. 8
I've always said 11 tracks is a good number for them to aim for. Maybe 12 if MX counts as a track. I'm personally okay with hearing half or almost half the album beforehand, because if they were playing these festivals and weren't debuting any new material, people would be complaining even more.

Itunes Fest Ep?
Like all past iTunes performances, it will be released only digitally, and only on iTunes.

STOP GIVING AWAY MY SECRET PLAN. :sneaky::lol:

Itunes Fest Ep?
Of course there will be one. Each band performing at the festival gets one. It takes a couple weeks for them to pump it out after the performance, though, and they traditionally haven't included more than a disappointingly few 6 tracks.

I'm pretty sure the Oracle tidbit about not re-releasing the same music is referring to "Best Of" compilations that seasoned bands like to churn out every decade for a quick buck. This isn't like that. The majority of those songs listed are probably very unfinished and never got worked on much after they were first started. The band probably had hundreds of song concepts with tentative names. They did the same thing for previous album cycles. Oh yeah, ETIAW is putrid, but I've only said that every hour of every day for the past 2 months.

Robyn covers Coldplay's ETIAW
I want everyone to think of whoever they happen to think has the most angelic voice in the world. Now I want you to think of that angelic voice singing "Wa wa wa wa wa TURFALL" It still sounds awful, doesn't it?

Are people really surprised that ETIAW will be on the album? Or were they just holding out every last hope that it wouldn't be?

Listened to the interview yesterday and am excited that I will probably get to see the hexagon stage. That things looks awesome. Way better than the towers.

Robyn covers Coldplay's ETIAW
I dunno, I thought it sucked less than Coldplay's version, probably because Robyn actually specializes in dancey synthpop.

The Snow Patrol Thread
Reindeer Section was fun, but it'll be hard to get that group together again a decade later, or even a partial chunk of that group. I'd like to see another Tired Pony effort in the future, since that's an effort that had me skeptical at first but left me really impressed, but obviously I'd like to get back to Snow Patrol for the meantime.

I know for a fact that we have a much more recent Metric thread, filled with my personal Emily Haines fanboying. :laugh3:;)

Portishead's Geoff Barrow: 'Coldplay's fireworks ruin festivals'
Geoff sort of responds on Twitter: @NMEmagazine that was a shitty made up headline about me? I said WE were at the wrong festivals not them people love fireworks // Don't know what he's really getting at, but I'll try to find some past instances of his trash talk.

Portishead's Geoff Barrow: 'Coldplay's fireworks ruin festivals'
PJ Harvey boring? Bruno Mars entertaining? ...okay, I will resist all urge to explode at that as long as we can get back to talking about how Geoff Barrow is notorious for bashing Coldplay and similar artists. Though I can't speak for the rest of Portishead, as I don't follow them closely enough.

Portishead's Geoff Barrow: 'Coldplay's fireworks ruin festivals'
Pretty sure Geoff Barrow berates Coldplay on a regular basis, even on his Twitter.

I can actually confirm that's not Dom's car, unless he has a second car I'm unaware of. Don't ask me how I know this information, but I do.
