  1. Value? The thing doesn't have any value and probably won't have much in the future. Open the damn thing.
  2. I didn't follow this thread but did people really think that tweet was taking fan requests? To be honest, I would have been a bit annoyed if long-lost rarities had been played, seeing as how that audience was largely random competition winners who weren't really big Coldplay fans.

They were stiff when I saw them too, but from my understanding, Julian has always been pretty lifeless on stage, usually settling for sarcastic banter to engage the crowd (which you need the right audience for). I think some of his stage banter is pretty witty, but they don't evoke much energy for a still-young band that has plenty of danceable hits.
  4. Get a new mom. ;) No, "get a new parent" is NOT my suggestion for everything. Sheesh. Oh, you wanted a countdown update? 8 DAYS. *hoping Megalomania rumors stay true*
  5. I caught a piece of salty confetti and had a friend lick it. Hilarity ensued.

Funeral > A Rush of Blood to the Head > The Suburbs > Parachutes > Neon Bible > X&Y > Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends :):):)
  7. I remember the "Should Muse Break Up?" thread. Hilarious stuff. Half the posts were trolls that no one could tell were joking, while the other half were actually serious, so no one could tell the difference. It resulted in a forum-wide shitstorm that required lots of staff intervention. I know JessicaSarahS really well (one of my good friends offline too, and she's staying with me at Lolla), and I know a couple other new mods casually.
  8. I actually know a few of the new staff members there personally. I didn't know any of the previous staff. Of course, I probably don't post on .mu frequently enough to tell the difference anyway.
  9. Me neither, but I think Perfect Symmetry is still passable. Night Train, on the other hand, is putrid. Its best song - "My Shadow" - is a Perfect Symmetry B-side, for crying out loud. I think Tim recently said that LP4 will sound more similar to UTIS, but we'll see if that actually rings true. It's odd how I've never, ever caught Keane live. They were here just last year and the year before at pretty small venues for a non-terrible price, yet I passed on them. They aren't in my list of favorite bands, but I'd still willingly see them.
  10. How can you shower her if you can't get above her? /mean-spirited joke
  11. You can always ask Chris Wolstenholme. He already has to look out for five children. I'm sure a 6th wouldn't hurt.
  12. Get a new dad. Not possible? Find a way.
  13. You don't know how much I would give to hear Arcade Fire on the radio just ONCE. I don't believe I've ever heard them played outside satellite radio, and we don't subscribe to satellite anymore. This is why I only listen to my iPod in my car now. :laugh3:
  14. Not here probably. My stations are too infatuated with new Coldplay and still haven't gotten tired enough of whoring out "Chasing Cars" to actually move on to more recent Snow Patrol material.
  15. Corkus replied to Sleep's topic in Charlie Brown
I like how some people have compared HLH to Springsteen and others have compared HLH to "Keep the Car Running" by Arcade Fire. Of course, "Keep the Car Running" is totally influenced by Springsteen. Bottom line is that everything sounds like something else and there's nothing you can do about it.
  16. Not bad. A little more electronic, but thankfully not on Every Teardrop levels. Hopefully the album will still retain some acoustic tracks.
  17. I've been on barrier directly in front of Chris too. Start hatin'. :P
  18. Listening party today? Unlike those Coldplay premieres, this one doesn't happen in the middle of the night for me. But while I hope it's way better than the Coldplay ones, I'm hoping to hear a bit of an evolution for Snow Patrol. AHMS was a good album, but an extremely safe one (Lightning Strike notwithstanding). I'm even okay with them taking a few prog nods from Final Straw.
  19. I've heard from some people who've been to the festival before that they really don't start letting you camp outside the doors until immediately before opening time, which is around 11am (might be 10, but I think it's 11). Otherwise anyone who knows me knows I'd probably start lining up at 5am. :laugh3: Thank heavens my hotel is right across the street and can easily bolt across at the golden moment.
  20. It's weird, one of the Muse shows I went to (Honda Center last year) did feature lots of moshing, but all of my other Muse concerts in SoCal have featured pretty collected crowds.
  21. Outside Lands? I'll be there too. I also don't intend on letting anyone get in my way, even people I know. ;) But I can shed some advice to help you compete. Since Muse plays on Day 2, you can get the feel for the festival and learn the layout on Day 1. Plan your day. Honestly, Muse pits are tame compared to hardcore bands. The majority of the crowd will be jumping up and down and fist-pumping, but Muse doesn't attract moshers or shovers. So you don't have to worry about getting knocked down and you don't have to worry about losing pocket items. Still, I'd pack as lightly as possible for convenience. Barrier is ideal for both viewing and having space in front of you to move your arms, but getting there takes dedication, namely camping out all day by the stage. Wait for the day-by-day schedule to be released to determine whether camping is worth it to you. As a warning, I am hell-bent on getting barrier and I have a few psycho friends who are the same (though only like one-tenth of the amount of Lolla Musers, so should be easier than Lolla). You'll have fun no matter what! :)
  22. BLING Bellamy ...will be the first of many names the kids will call him at school.
  23. Battle? Noel was actually in a band with big name recognition last time. I think the real battle will be which one will suck less, and also whether they'll suck less than Beady Eye.
  24. The Lolla phone app is now out, as is the official 2011 park map. Good news for you Coldplayers, as you don't have to walk too far from the entrance to get to the north stage where Coldplay is playing. (unlike me, who might collapse in the humid dash to Muse on the south) The app is pretty awesome. Custom lineups, interactive map, food locations, and GROUP TEXTING. It might be a good idea for all Coldplayers to get each other's contact info to take advantage of group texting at the festival. Useful for meetup locations too.
  25. Okay, one last Dom-related pic. My Abso sleeve for those who didn't see: Okay, enough of that, how about we talk even more about me by celebrating the fact that I see Muse perform again in 11 days. :D
