Will Mylo Xyloto leak? ** EFFECTIVE 16-10 LINKS NOT PERMITTED ** (PART I)
October 16th is my birthday. Voted for that. And it doesn't seem too unrealistic. I'd actually much rather have the Florence and the Machine album leak on my birthday, though.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Shockingly, yes. It's THAT bad. Being a cover is no excuse.

The dude in there is completely accurate. I listened to Prague the other day and wanted to kill myself right on the spot.

If people are going to lie, they should at least be creative with their lies. ;)

Mylo Xyloto = Absolution
So...uh...I could totally apply the same logic used in this thread to create a new thread called "Viva la Vida = Kid A". I mean, they both have 10 tracks and their last track has a brief outro piece at the end, so they're pretty much identical, right? :dozey:
-
Hello, I shall now vent on why Mylo Xyloto is not as bad as expected.
On the contrary, Charlie Brown, Hurts Like Heaven, and Major Minus are all pop songs. I mean, I can't think of a single moment in Charlie Brown that isn't 100% pop. Doesn't make it bad, but it IS a bona fide pop song.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I hate to bring up Coldplay AGAIN in here, but did anybody see this thread? :laugh3: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88528 Also, it's been a whole month since I've seen Muse. I feel empty. :'(

New Coldplay eh?
Exactly. I felt pretty dirty praising "Up in Flames" last night.

For those who dislike this new album, will you go to a concert?
Prices for Viva's tour were outrageous. I went on a rant about this in WoM, but charging $125 for merely an okay seat, which is nearly double what other artists charge to play the same arenas, is highway robbery. I would much prefer to see Coldplay in a festival this time around, seeing as how I'm also paying to see plenty of other artists worth my money. I will attend one headline show max this tour. Or they can make my life extremely easy and just play Coachella 2012, which I've paid off already.

The Snow Patrol Thread
BAM. Album art and tracklist: http://www.7digital.com/artists/snow-patrol/fallen-empires 14 songs. Fallen Empires is on the album and is track #6. Will be the best album with 14 songs this year. ;):P

New Coldplay eh?
Chris's voice has always been grittier and less delicate live, so I'm not surprised that an entire song where he wails in falsetto (keep in mind that he's had several years to refine Fix You, so maybe this will be similar) sounds unrefined live at first. Also, since this thread is brimming with too much positivity right now, here's the part where I post YouTube comments and we mock them: Coldplay is getting better and better, they're improving even when I though it wasn't posible for them to be more perfect. I prefer Paradise. This one sounds a bit like all the other slow songs they do. Coldplay is incapable of making a bad song. Their b sides are better than most bands award winning albums. They always evolve yet always have coldplay! I LOVE etiaw and paradise which has taken so much heat. Those songs are so different and brilliant! I don't understand criticism of them at all, and never will! First off, this song is incredible! Secondly, every song they have played up to this point is amazing! I am shocked how many people hate paradise and etiaw. Those songs are insane! The riffs, bass lines, melodies and harmonies. So how about those amazing Paradise and Teardrop riffs and basslines, huh? (seriously, no disrespect to Guy Berryman, but I can't think of a single memorable Coldplay bassline)

New Coldplay eh?
As I've been posting elsewhere, it only took 6 or 7 songs from the album before I finally didn't hate something. It's not as good as a mellow Parachutes or AROBTTH track, but it's similar to a lot of X&Y material both in terms of sound and quality. I'll willingly accept that by this point. And of course, the fanboys/fangirls are already responding to the positive feedback with "TOLD YA SO! TOLD YA SO! DON'T JUDGE UNTIL YOU'VE HEARD EVERYTHING!" Sorry, but a couple good songs won't salvage a shipwreck and the half of the album we still haven't heard has a HUGE uphill redemption battle given what we've dealt with previously. This is a faint glimmer of light. Very faint.

UIF WORLD DEBUT - watch the video
I hate Major Minus, I don't really get the love for Hurts Like Heaven, and Charlie Brown is decent but not too special IMO. I'm reserving judgment on Us Against the World just because that was done acoustically live and may end up radically different on record. So between 1 and 3 at this point for me. Bingo. I agree that one or two bad songs doesn't kill a whole album. That's why I still enjoy X&Y in spite of a couple skippable tracks. But by the same token, one or two good songs doesn't salvage a terrible album. I will obviously still listen to the album in full, but this little light here doesn't bury much of my pessimism.

UIF WORLD DEBUT - watch the video
I actually don't hate this! :stunned: That only took...what? 7 songs off the album for me to genuinely like something off it? :laugh3: (since the only other one was the now-B-side MTM) Seriously, this sounds like something off X&Y, which isn't Coldplay's best but something I will GLADLY take at this point.

New Coldplay eh?
But a Radiohead rumor dropped today! :P (then again, Radiohead is rumored EVERY year for EVERY festival, so it hardly means a thing) Being 2.5 hours away, though, Coachella is just a given for me every year. Other festivals are more lineup-dependent for me.

Mylo Xyloto = Absolution
You could replace Muse with any number of bands and I would still laugh uncontrollably at that second sentence. /bitter Coldplay fan of y'old Absolution is a candidate for my favorite album by anyone. I'm pretty sure its worst song is a bazillion times better than anything we've heard so far from MX (Since "Moving to Mars" no longer counts as an MX track). Also, lots of albums are 14 songs long with little intermission pieces in the middle. Your point?

New Coldplay eh?
I've always had a major problem with the prices for Coldplay tickets here in the U.S. They charge $125 per ticket once you calculate the additional fees, and that's for anything non-nosebleed, not just what's best in the house. Not only that, but these prices are for venues that usually charge no more than $70 per ticket for a lot of other bands (seriously, I can see Foo Fighters for $75 next month in an arena that Coldplay played 3 years ago for $125). So anytime someone complains about Coldplay ticket prices and a fanboy/fangirl responds, "That's the venue's choice, not the band's!", they're mostly in denial. Being so disappointed with these new songs gives me much less of an incentive to pay these outrageous prices to see them. If I do see them at all this tour, I would rather it be at a festival where I can also catch other acts worth my money. (I already have Coachella 2012 paid for, guys, so there's your hint ;) )

Florence + The Machine
WTWGM. No contest. Shake It Out is a really fun song but you can tell it was written mainly so it could be a radio single. WTWGM is one of her best songs yet and the quality I hope the rest of the album can reach.
-
Florence + The Machine
ATTN COLDPLAY: This is how you write a catchy radio single. Being the casual radio hit from the album, however, I do hope and expect the rest of the album will be more like WTWGM.

Florence + The Machine
Last time I saw her, she took a shot of pure vodka before performing Hurricane Drunk. So yes, I can verify this. :P EDIT: Ladies and gentlemen, the lead single "Shake It Out": [ame=http://soundcloud.com/grace_i/shake-it-out-1]Shake It Out by grace_i on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free[/ame]

Florence + The Machine
FATM Army Twitter (very reliable fan account with some inside info) has indeed confirmed those two songs for the deluxe album. PHEW.
-
Florence + The Machine
I wondered that too. Been waiting for a studio version of that for 18 months now. Bedroom Hymns is also missing. But there will be a deluxe edition released with new B-sides, so maybe they'll both wind up on there...
