  3. So there is not a lot of talk about the Ten re-issue. I still have not bought my copy, but I thought some people on the boards would at least be discussing the album. It always blows my mind that there is little interest in Pearl Jam on this message board, but people will discuss Radiohead until they are blue in the face. To me, both bands are almost equal in their importance (amongst contemporaries). Maybe it's the fact that Radiohead has a similar vibe as Coldplay, and this is a Coldplay message board. I always watch the PJ thread sink like a brick.
  4. 2,823 auction currently on Ebay alone. I expect some deals to be found on the secondary market once the whole "on-sale" frenzy dies down. I think there is a lot of speculation out there, especially considering the fact that U2 are playing multiple-night stadium gigs in some cities. Maybe the demand is there. We will see.
  5. Hopefully, this gets the creative juices flowing and they decided to get back to work some time in the very near future. I know, I know...they're on a break. Gotta recover from that stressful life of being a musician. I wish I had it so stressful.
  6. haha...You're my hero
  7. It's not an affront against you. Thank you for posting the story - it is widely circulated. I think it's not true. Nothing more, nothing less.
  8. Plus, the Killers never started out as "good friends." The Killers formed in response to a newspaper advertisement, and they were not "pals" going in. Brandon has commented several times that they have only gotten to know each other in the time SINCE they have been a band.
  9. ^ This sounds like tabloid garbage without an ounce of truth.

  14. I prefer live performances by far. But I used to like music videos when other people cared about music videos. Now that no one cares, I don't either. But how cool was the multi-colored fake plastic trees video? That stuff was cool in the day.
  15. In God's Country - U2 (Joshua Tree remastered)
  16. That's awesome. I have never had U2 tickets in my hand before a show. It always turns out to be a mad scrable on the day of. It's sure nice to know you're "in" for sure.
  17. ^ The entire "Skin and Bones" cd is great. It was recorded during a three night concert at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. I actually went to the second night of the recording. After hearing Marigold in concert, I looked up the history. That's why I am not an expert, but I remember reading about it before.
  18. Well, perhaps a huge Nirvana fan should fill in the details because I am not certain of all the particulars. It is a Nirvana song written and sung by Dave Grohl, but my understanding is that he had written and recorded it earlier and then re-recorded it with Nirvana. I have heard it came from a Dave Grohl demo which was recorded under the pseudonym Late! I'm sure people will tell me if I'm wrong.

    Everlong - Foo Fighters
  20. ^ Marigold is a Dave Grohl song which he performed on Foo Fighter's "Skin and Bones" acoustic cd. It's a great song.
  21. I didn't see Magic as being similar to his 70s stuff. I thought it was very pop oriented with a high level of production, along the lines of Born In The USA or Tunnel Of Love. But yes, Magic is one of my favorite Springsteen albums. He is one of the best.
  22. Yeah, I have never seen them in GA, so I would like it to happen at least one time this tour. One good thing about non-GA is that you actually get to see the stage show, and I think this one is going to be impressive. The ellipse during the Vertigo tour and the heart during the Elevation tour were only visible from above. My friend, who somehow always manages to score GA, was not aware of the visual stage show (how the stage lights up) because he was in GA - I know, boo-hoo...GA every show ;)
  23. ^I prefer good assigned seating as opposed to GA. Do you know how freakish U2 fans are? You will have to sleep 3 nights outside the stadium and, even then, you will probably be half way back in the crowd with GA.
  24. ^ ok, I'll trade Black Eyed Peas for whatever you got in Canada...straight up.
  25. ^ well, I do plan to travel to see U2 on this tour, but I'm keeping it within the United States. Is there any way I can just send you the Black Eyed Peas? Can you please explain the appeal of songs like "My Humps" and "Let's Get Retarded?" I'm not judging...I'm all ears...
