Metallica
I am not a big fan of "metal" (a little bit goes a long way), but I like a lot of Metallica's stuff. Good band, great live, and deserving of the HOF induction. Congrats!

need help buying vinyl in london
^ ok....next time I go to Amoeba Records, I will pull it from the shelf and go over to their record player. Thanks for the info. And I now understand what you mean by "classics." Yeah, I don't care how much it is worth, and don't collect rare vinyl, I just like the artwork.

need help buying vinyl in london
Fair enough. But I do think I have some classic albums (i.e. Born In The USA, Who's Next, Pet Sounds, OK Computer, Ten, Unforgettable Fire, Zenyatta Mondatta, etc.), or at least they are "classics" in my opinion. Everyone always tells me that the sound is "richer" or "warmer." I always wondered what the hell that meant. Thanks for giving me some idea, and I do plan to get a record player someday. But I move so much that I don't even use CDs because they are too bulky. All of my music is on audio files, and the vinyl records are stored at my parent's house (in my old room).

Artist vs. Artist Game...
I don't know James Morrison, but I like Chris Martin a lot, so it would be almost impossible to beat him in terms of my preference. Let's go old school 50s Buddy Holly or Elvis Presley

U2
Sorry if this has been posted before (I am not too good at looking at old posts), but I can't stop watching this clip of the song No Line On The Horizon. I still think it and Breathe are the best songs from NLOTH. Anyhow, this is why I love U2 (FYI - click on the link and watch it in HD) [ame= ] [/ame]

need help buying vinyl in london
The point is that I collect vinyl. I purchase vinyl records, get the cover autographed, and frame it on my wall. Can't I do that...be a collector? Or do I need to run it by you before I make a purchase? Since I have all this vinyl sitting around my house, I asked what I thought was a legitimate question. Would anyone care to answer it?

need help buying vinyl in london
I buy vinyl all the time, but I don't even own a record player. I would recommend going online or through EBAY. Someone out there has exactly what you are looking for, you just need to find him/her. I buy most of my vinyl at Amoeba Records in Los Angeles. It doesn't get much better than in terms of selection. Also, can someone explain to me the fascination with vinyl records? As mentioned, I don't ever play my records, but I love buying them as a collectors item. What is the sound difference when it comes to vinyl? Perhaps I will have to get a record player because it seems to be a very popular format right now.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
^ hmm, interesting. You can't say their not good musicians, it just seems that it is a tad too sophisticated for a Killers song.

Goodbye Blender Mag
I don't have a clue in terms of which "other" magazines will fail. I am not privy to the financial information and, therefore, can not really draw any conclusion. I have a subscription to Rolling Stone and Spin Magazine. When I am at the newsstand, I enjoy thumbing through Q Magazine. I would miss music magazines if they go out of business, too. To me, surfing the internet is not the equivalent of thumbing through a magazine, even if the information is the same. Most importantly (to me at least), would be the loss of the magazine cover. Even if I don't buy the magazine, I enjoy seeing who is on a magazine cover and reading the cover captions. It is one way that I am able to determine who is receiving a lot of "buzz" in the industry. I also enjoy getting autographs on the covers of music magazines. A signed magazine is a great collectors item, and my room is littered with autographed magazines. Not to say that "collector geeks" such as myself make up the lion's share of their revenue, but I would certainly miss it.

Depeche Mode
I like the song "Wrong", whatever that's worth. Depeche Mode is one of the few bands that I like but have never seen live. I am trying to change that fact this year. I am going to see them on April 23 at Jimmy Kimmel Live, but that's just a short set.

U2
Good...I have spent many a night wishing I would have saved the ticket money and just listened to the show from the outside. It would have almost been the same experience...you hear me, Dodger and Angel Stadium?

Goodbye Blender Mag
Makes sense to me. I love music magazines and never purchased a subscription to Blender. I must not have been the only one.

U2
There are only a couple of things that really excite me about the new U2 tour being in stadiums. 1. Tickets, due to the pure quantity, should be easier to obain and at a decent price on the secondary market. If I don't get GA in the general sale, I am just going to hold off. 2. It looks like the stage show is going to be amazing. Besides that, I hate stadium shows.

Depeche Mode
I haven't listened to it yet, but Depeche Mode is usually hit or miss for me. They either make some of my favorite music or I don't really care for it. Funny how there is no middle ground for me. Anyhow, I look forward to getting the new CD.

Pearl Jam
These reissues are driving me nuts. I want the deluxe version but really don't feel like dropping $40-$50 right now. And I don't really want to spend the $15 for the legacy edition (cd only) because I want to apply that money toward the deluxe version. Consequently, I have nothing right now....GRRR!

Official Red Hot Chili Peppers thread
^ I agree. I don't think RHCP will be doing anything for awhile. That's the last I heard, at least.
