  1. Nirvana is a fantastic band, although I have always been a bigger fan of Pearl Jam.
  2. I am going to see him either April 15 or April 16 in Los Angeles. I am not completely sold on his latest CD. I have only listened to it a few times, but it is not as immediate as "Magic," despite the fact that it appears to have the same pop sensibilities in its prodcution. I will certainly listen to it several times before the show, so perhaps I will have a better feeling at that time.

    Silver and Gold - U2

Purple - Stone Temple Pilots (but just b/c I am a big STP fan - Purple Rain is a great album) Depeche Mode - Violator or The Cure - Disintegration
  11. All Fall Down The Fray
  12. Not that I go to a U2 show to see the opening act, as I would go see U2 wherever, whenever, with whoever opening. It's just nice to get a good show from another opening act. Not that I am the biggest Kings of Leon fan, but I enjoyed their set and have since bought a few of their CDs after they opened for U2 on the Vertigo tour. Whose going to be converted, or go buy a black eyed peas CD, after seeing them open for U2. It just doesn't make sense. By the way, I am insanely pumped up for this tour.
  13. What is the purpose of the black eyed peas being on this tour anyhow. I understand the wil.i.am connection, but do you honestly think there are any U2 fans in any city screaming, "yes, we got the black eyed peas?" I am sure there are some out there, but certainly not anyone I know.
  14. it's like karma...if there are ten potential opening acts, and you are fine with nine of them, guess which one you are going to get in your home town? That's right, the one you DON'T WANT!
  15. It's so appropriate for a Las Vegas band. I love it, too.
  16. Sorry I keep double posting. My computer is freezing on me.
  17. L.A. is getting Black Eyed Peas...DAMN IT!!! I am most likely going to travel during this tour, so perhaps I will get a band I like better in another city. For my taste in music, it won't be too hard to beat L.A.

  19. ^ That was a good interview. Bono is such a shy and quiet character ;) I liked the comment about treating music as a sacrament. I have never held anything against people who like what most would describe as "disposable" or "recycled" pop music. Honestly, I have my fair share of guilty pleasures. In fact, I have often argued that music is simply suppose to evoke an emotional response in people, and who am I to decide what is good or bad for that particular person? But it certainly is nice to reserve a special place for those artists who treat music seriously, respect its past, and try to push its boundaries. Those are usually the artists that emerge as my favorites.

  21. Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" or The Strokes "Reptilia"
  22. Beach Boys Red Hot Chili Peppers or Pearl Jam
  23. You gotta admit, it is a little funny. If I went on a Metallica board and started a Coldplay thread, I would be ducking for cover. And I don't think the fact that I like multiple genres of music would save me.

    The Ocean - Led Zeppelin
  25. U2 Radiohead Coldplay Pearl Jam Bruce Springsteen
