I love Radiohead but, to be fair, they are not an easy listen, and I would not have given them so many chances had people not told me that I am missing out. Therefore, I came to like Radiohead because I wanted to like Radiohead. Now, there is no effort at all, and I find them absolutely fascinating. But to those who don't like them, I think it is fine. I don't think anyone who dislikes Radiohead is stupid for their stance, and that repeating idea drives me nuts. In fact, perhaps I am the stupid one because I spent so much time trying to like a band that I didn't originally. I try to imagine who else I would like if I gave them the same amount of chances.
  8. Have fun! They are one of my favorite live acts.
  9. Living in Los Angeles definitely improves my level of access, but simply having access doesn't mean the artist is accessible. The two easiest people to meet in U2, oddly enough, are Bono and the Edge, and they do stop their vehicles on the way into stadiums. Of course, it doesn't happen every time, but at least they do it. Adam is way less likely, and Larry will almost never do it. My point: Keep trying...it may happen. My other point: EVERYONE in the Killers is accessible. They are all fan friendly and meet their fans after most shows (at least every one I have ever been to), which is really great for those of us who enjoy the experience of meeting our favorite artists.
  10. Funny you say that, because I just met all of U2 yesterday. They were at the Capital Records building in Los Angeles doing their 3 cities promotion. But yeah, the Killers are great about meeting their fans. I have met them almost everytime I have tried. It's amazing considering their relative success.
  11. Haha...I never thought I would see a Simon & Garfunkel thread on Coldplaying. I do like them. Not a huge fan, but what I know, I like really well. Thier greatest hits suit me just fine.
  12. That's right. The best band I have ever seen live...and I have been to a ton of concerts. There is no one that is even close to them. For those who have not seen them live, check out their DVDs. Of course, it is not the same as the concert, but I think it captures the experience pretty well. I think this stage show is going to be ground breaking. Even if your not a big fan of U2, do yourself a favor and try to check out one of their shows.
  13. I was kind of disappointed, too. Not because it was bad, in fact, it was outstanding, but more because I thought we would get another NLOTH track. I think Get On Your Boots will be the night 5 song. In fact, I think they have already pre-taped it. But there is always a chance we will hear some new songs on Good Morning America. The Letterman shows have just been fantastic, and I am not even sure why I like that programming venue so much.
  14. Man, these new songs are sounding fantastic live. Every time I see a live performance on T.V., I like the record better. And the Letterman performances...WOW!
  15. I think a lot of songs on NLOTH will be great live. I can't wait to see more clips and, even more, I can't wait for the tour.
  16. Chase This Light is good, but I prefer the previous 3. Clarity is a classic.
  17. That version is awesome, I had never heard it before. I think I still like the version on Pablo Honey better. Stop Whispering is still one of my favorite Radiohead songs of all time. Thom's vocals rock.
  18. Great performance of GOYB.
  19. I vote for Get On Your Boots...Get Me In The Sound
  20. ^ yeah, I don't like Stand Up Comedy. I think it is the only definite skip I have found on the album. I don't get the big deal over Magnificent. It's not that I don't like it, I just don't find it that special. I will keep listening. For the longest time, I did not like A Beautiful Day, and it is now one of my favorites. I really like I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight and Breathe. The problem with this album, as far as singles go, is that the songs are too long. If they are going to be released as singles, they will have to create some radio edits. No Line On The Horizon (the song) is still my favorite from the album. I think this song and Breathe will be grand in their live form.
  21. If you can hold off, you are a better person than me. I always cave instantly. I totally get the satisfaction of opening the album on day of release. On the other hand, I also enjoy the excitement of listening to it before its out. The MP3 version that I downloaded is a very clean copy. My understanding is that it was mistakenly leaked in Australia for a brief period of time on a legal download site. Those who got it then put it up on the internet, and away we go... In fact, my iTUNES already recognizes all the track names. I bet the iTUNES Genius is going WTF when it scans my computer and sees the tracks on my playlist. Let me know if you want it.
  22. I really like Home Depot Center as a concert venue. I wish they would use it more.
  23. I am really liking "Breathe" and "White As Snow." To me, this album is a very worthy effort. I will have to get away from it for awhile to see how it stacks up against the other U2 albums but, for now, I am very, very happy with the results.
  24. Anyone who wants to go to this show will be able to go. Tickets for the forum and honda center were in high demand, but this is a large stadium. I remember during the X&Y tour, the tickets for the verizon wireless shows were hot, but I was getting into the forum and honda center shows for $20 or less...and with good tickets. I just can't get over how expensive their tickets have become. Not to say that Coldplay has ticket prices that are more outrageous than other bands, but $130 for the best seats is freaking expensive. I like too many bands, and attend too many concerts, to pay that kind of money.
