Ok. I'll give you, you mighty Coldplay fans a reasonable explanation. The tracklist was revealed on People Magazine because guess who read People? The same people who mostly shop at Target, it's basically the same demographic. And that was paid for by Target. That's why there is a "Target" microphone next to the tracklist. Great marketing if you ask me.

Why is no one offended that People (a tabloid magazine with a very bad reputation) got the exclusive tracklist? HAHAHAHA Edit: too late. People are already offended. HAHAHA These meltdowns are so fun to watch.

WOW once again, you guys are doing the most out of nothing. You guys were saying that Rihanna would end them. She didn't. And Coldplay's legacy is still intact. This is just for promo and Im sure once the live shows start, they will be performing on the show. The Voice (US) is not a cheap talent show. It's currently one of the highest rated shows here and it's actually very respected here. It has higher ratings and is more respected than all the other talent shows combined. It's also the best platform for promo. Last season, all the performers and guests ended up having top ten hits and saw sales gains. Coldplay doesn't make music for free and isn't an Indie band.. Besides, they've promoted on crappier tv-shows before. This will not tarnish their legacy and people will foget that they even performed there. You guys are doing the absolute most. I don't know why you think Coldplay is above this. They are not. This is a great opportunity and Im glad they let Chris do it. This isn't a big deal at all. Stop overreacting.

I think Target will get 3 new songs. Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift had a similar deal. I think part of the deal is that Target will promote the album a little and use some of their new songs in a commercial. This is what they've done in the last few years when they got exclusive songs. When MX was released, remember how Target had a special edition with a tshirt? Well I wanted that tshirt so I went to the store and they were out of them so I had to order it online. It took about 6 weeks before I got it (that was the standard shipment) I hope you guys have a better luck with your Target orders. I'll just go to the store and buy it with cash

I just hope they do a commercial for Target. Usually when Target pairs with someone, they also do a campaign with them to promote the album.

They are 3 exclusive songs and most likely new songs (not live ones) Target has had a history of having special editions. I can name many albums that had a similar treatment last year and the years before. Also, they might be featured in a Target commercial.

Im so happy, I can't sleep. And those iTunes songs are just promo song or previews. Many artists do it now. It's a great strategy of get more sales. They may or may not end up being official singles

Sounds right. When I saw those songs listed with the time, I knew they were going to be promo singles. Many artists do this.

I don't think the way they released it overshadowed the song itself and most reviews have been positive.

I love it. This is why I love Coldplay. They are not afraid to go outside their comfort zone and experiment with new sound and music. This song is amazing, yes amazing. For Coldplay this is new and fresh and it's a reinvention of their sound. And for me, this doesn't sound like Bon Iver's self titled album. It's sound like Jon Hopkins's Opalescent album released way before Bon Iver. I don't know why all the reviews are ignoring the fact that Jon produced the song and are all saying this is a Bon Iver song. I think one reviewer said "oh this reminds me of Bon Iver" and the rest of them all decided to say the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised if half of them haven't heard a Bon Iver song.
