Florence + The Machine
I really like that one! I'm kind of obsessed with Heartlines right now.

Florence + The Machine
I've been listening to "Ceremonials" the bonus edition for days now and I still love the album, but I'll tell you this.....I can't stand Spectrum. Ugh. It makes me my skin crawl. I hate her voice when she sings "say my name." Again...ugh. I skip it every time I hear it. And the last song is kind of boring for a closer. I wish they would've taken out Spectrum and Leave My Body and substituted Bedroom Hymns and Strangeness and Charm.

Sorry. My "v" key is broken on my laptop and I type too fast to use the cumbersome on-board screen keyboard. Sorry you were offended by that. I'll make sure to only post from my desktop when using this website so my solution to a broken "v" key doesn't annoy you. I made sure to use the on-screen keyboard when I was looking for tix, btw. Yay Ivet for scoring GA tix in Kansas City!!

The tech sketch was hilarious, too! I'm glad I didn't change the channel. All the funny skits happened later.

OMFG!!! The "Someone Like You" skit!!! E\/eryone is crying....including Coldplay! HHAHAHAHHAHAHA! OMG....why didn't they put that one earlier in the show! It's hilarious! Will is crying on Jonny's shoulder! haha! It kind of looks Guy is laughing and passing it off as crying. haha

[12-Nov-2011: Coldplay @ Saturday Night Live with host Emma Stone [CONFIRMED]
Oh gah! I was laughing so hard during "The Weekend Update" skit. So silly! Paradise was pretty good, but as usual ETIAW was shiteous. I think he just mo\/es around too much for my taste and the pitch goes all wonky. *sigh* I was kind of hoping they'd do Charlie Brown.

Do you want to have kids someday?
I already have kids. I have two. My daughter is 7 and in 1st grade and my son is 3. They are the loves of my life. Granted, my world doesn't revolve around them, but they certainly add something amazing to it. My husband and I knew we would have kids when we got married. We were both 22. I had my daughter when I was 24 and had my son when I was 28. Like most of you, I didn't want kids, especially when I was a teenager. Even when I was in college, I was just too busy to even think about that one day I met the right guy and kids became a possibility. And even after meeting the right guy and getting married, our first year of marriage was rough. But, we pulled through and after that period in my life, I knew I wanted children. I won't bore or annoy with more "children enrich your lives" stuff or "you just wouldn't understand until you have one yourself." But...they're both true....for every mother I know.

I tried purchasing tix from the Radiohead website, but it kept telling me I was timing out. So, I went the \/enue site (which happens to be the Kansas City Sprint Center) and they still ha\/e plenty tickets left.......howe\/er......the closest ones cost o\/er $400 apiece! Astoundingly too expensi\/e. The nosebleeds seats are o\/er $100 apiece. I sadly don't think we'll be going. We just can't afford to pay that much money for tickets. We ha\/e a mortgage and two kids and I just bought a new horn. So...maybe if we file our taxes earlier than normal and there are still tickets left in February we'll do it, but right now....it'ts not looking good.

Bwaaaahh! They finally announced a tour! Looks like we'll either be going to the St. Louis or Kansas City show.

So what monstrosity are you going as this Halloween?
A friend of mine on FB posted this. She was all for this video...loved it and so did those who commented on it. I guess I must be a "hater." But really I don't care. But, I'll say this. I wouldn't "bust my ass" to lose weight simply to dress like a slut on Halloween. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPPsf-Mi8FY]Sluts On Halloween - YouTube[/ame]

My neighbour is stalking me. :/
I don't think it would be a bad idea to mention this to the campus police. Do you have campus police? It's not quite the "real" police, but it's something. Is there a professor you could talk to about this? For the time being, take any opportunity to avoid this person. If others are uncomfortable around him, then there's probably a good reason why.

Agreed. You'd think by now that people could tell that Chris is joking about 99% of the time. I think some of you are reading more into Chris's comment than need be.

Florence + The Machine
Okay, album acquired. I've listened to it several times and I think it's so terrific. I can't really say if it's better than "Lungs" or not, though. They both have such different vibes and both are so good. I'm getting a very modern retro vibe from "Ceremonials." It feels as though they took some of that 80's new wave sound and modernized it. I just dig it so much! My only issue (and it's not really that big of an issue) is the lack of harp in this album. In "Lungs" the harp was such a presence and I don't hear it much in this album. I've also had a listen to the B-sides and some of the acoustics. Why are the B-sides always the best of that album's period?! And I just LOVE the acoustic version of "Shake it Out." Can't stop listening to it! Overall, I adore Coldplay and really feel that MX is a solid album for them, but......"Ceremonials" is not only a better effort, but it's more enjoyable for me. It's very compelling and lovely!

Florence + The Machine
Okay, I mentioned in another thread that I live in a "podunk" town where the nearest reputable music store is 45 minutes away. Well, I was able to get MX the day it was released at my local Walmart at 8:00 am, so why would Florence's new album be any different?? Seeing as its the day after her album was officially released, I figured I'd pick it up along with the grocery shopping. Here's what ensued: Me to Random Electronics Walmart Employee: Hey, I couldn't find Florence and the Machine's newest album on your new release shelf. Do you have it? REWE: Uh....who? Me: Florence and the ma.... REWE: Oh! Florim(sp?)! We don't have Florim. Me: Um, okay...thanks. *pushes cart around until I find Another Random Electronics Walmart Employee* Me: Hey, do you have Florence and the Machine's newest album? It came out yesterday. AREWE: Did you check the new release shelf? Me: Yes. AREWE: Okay, come with me. *takes me to Florence and the Machine tab* Here you go. Me: Uh, that's not the newest one. AREWE: Yes, it is. Me: No, it's not. "Lungs" is the old album. Random Electronics Walmart Employee Who Was Eavesdropping: Did you want Florence and the Machine's newest album, "Ceremonials?" Me: YES! *Thinking, "finally someone who knows what the hell they're talking about!" REWEWWE: Yeah, she's not popular enough for us to stock the new album. We'll get it eventually, but probably not for another month or so. Me: o_O
