French plane 'missing off Brazil'
OMG, I'm so sad right now... I just found out my friend's best friends from Germany were on the plane  He was just on the news here in Houston talking about it... I'm so shocked :stunned: I really don't know what to say. The whole thing is just so odd and surreal and now knowing people who were on it is just so much more devasting. The most awful thing about it, is that they had just gotten engaged after meeting in law school in Germany and were in Rio visiting her parents. They were only 26 and 27 and his birthday would have been on Friday  EDIT: http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=6845251

Time that the concert is over at...
They usually end somewhere between 10:30pm and 11:30pm... It really depends what time they come out, which is usually 9pm to 9:30pm. The shows are usually 1 and a half to 2 hours long. The last show I was at last November, they came out around 9:30pm and ended about 11:15pm.

"Strawberry Swing" video - RELEASED! (20th July 2009)
LOL, I have to agree. I have a sort of man-crush on Will... or maybe it's just the coolness that ensues during the Viva bell and drum... :inquisitive: The others are definately handsome chaps though... I think I would be blessed if I looked even remotely like any of them or have even a smidge of their talent - although I don't think I'm too bad to look at myself ;)

I doubt you can get more than one, and even if you can, I honestly wouldn't feel comfortable doing that. I would recommend the thread suggested above to put your name on the list for extras. Or try ebay.

~*~ The Official Will Champion Appreciation Thread ~*~
From Roadie 42's latest blog: "As Will is staying in a different spot to us with his family, he ends up in his own vehicle. He texts that he's lonely in a car by himself and that he's coming to the hotel bar anyway for a quick one before getting "home". We pass his vehicle at some traffic lights and see only a white pair of sneakers (listen, we're in the states, so I'll call 'em what I like) in in the tinted window. Evidently, he's over the isolation and has proceeded directly to spreading out. Somehow he beats us there and sits making friends with the locals whilst waiting for us to pull up. Me, being the party boy I am, I head directly for the elevator. 'Night folks." LOL! :laugh3: It's nice he's traveling with his family this time around though, I bet his wife was rather insistant since he was gone most of last year, ha! Especially with two newborn twins.

too many shows
The Houston show is 'sold out' which surprised me since it has a huge lawn and late July in Houston isn't exactly comfortable! I do agree in a way though. I was shocked that the first set of dates were announced so soon after the last leg of the tour in NA. Then they added all the dates from May through August! They are going to be exhausted. However, they have said that touring is what they love to do, so I'm just hoping after all these dates they don't disappear for more than 3 years...

22-Jul-09: Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Houston, TX - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews, Setli
Just got an email from Ticketmaster saying the show has been moved up to 7pm... PIT tickets have varied by show. For example, Dallas didn't even have a PIT initially, and now you can get tickets in the PIT four months after the pre-sale. I think the Houston show either haven't released the PIT tickets or they have already been sold/given to radio, etc. As of right now, you can't even get a ticket on ticketmaster, not even lawan. It's techically 'sold out' but of course you can still get the scalper tickets...

full venues??
The Houston show is 'sold out' but of course there are still scalper tickets available...

Music in background of Roadie 42's latest blog...
Ohhh, ok I recognise it now... the 'without you I'm miles away' bit finally made me realise what it was! Oh that's great then, since I think this is the next single as they are making a video, I bet this will be on the single release :) I wonder if it will replace the Viva remix at the concerts?

Life in Technicolor played in Night @ the Museum
I think they used pretty much the whole thing since it's only what, like 2 or so minutes long. It might have been edited slightly, but it started the same way and had the 'ohohohs' at the end. I though it was rather well placed actually...

Whose voice do you prefer? Chris' or Will's?
Agreed. Although Chris' voice is pretty identifiable, I also have to say it takes getting used to as well. I have a lot of friends that don't like the sound of his voice, and hence can't really get into Coldplay. I have that case with some bands too, if their voice is annoying, I just can't listen to them no matter how good they are! I don't think Will's voice is cooky-cutter at all, I think he has a very nice timbre to his voice and it's more immediately pleasing... This is very evident on 'The Hardest Part' on LRLRL. His harmony with Chris is fantastic!

So, We'll never see the track 'LRLRL' it looks like...
LOL, yeah that is true... He didn't like 'Speed of Sound' at first either, however, that was when they existed in their first forms. Once it was mixed, he loved it, so who knows... Yeah, I guess 'crappy' is not the right term...

20-May-2009: Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Virginia Beach, VA, USA
Yeah, that's how I plan to play it for Dallas. I don't care to be front row center in the PIT, I'd rather be to the side and next to the little mini stages, so hoping that works out for me. Great pics btw. I'm not worried about the setlist either. It's still different to the one I saw last year due to Green Eyes, The Scientist (full), I'm a Believer, Glass of Water and LIT ii being on there, so that's enough change for me :)

So, We'll never see the track 'LRLRL' it looks like...
From the new interview with Chris on Coldplay.com... Now, Coldplay's live album is called LeftRightLeftRightLeft. Exactly. That was also the name of a track touted for the Viva album. It was indeed. In fact, it was also what Viva La Vida was going to be called, before we found the title Viva La Vida. With the live album, we were going to go for the world record of the longest album title in history by making LeftRightLeftRightLeft go all the way around the CD, so that it never ended. But we took so much shit for how long Viva La Vida's title was, we thought maybe a never-ending title might be a little much. So we opted for five words as just one word. Does the track LeftRightLeftRightLeft still exist? It does, but in about eight different forms. It's not finished. What happens to songs like that? They're sort of torn apart and you might take parts of them for other songs. But the LeftRightLeftRightLeft song itself is unlikely to see the light of day? The song itself has been given the Will Champion seal of disapproval. So, no, nothing will happen to it. Ah crap, oh well I guess it can't be that good then. Will is usually pretty good at scapping the crappy songs :)

20-May-2009: Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Virginia Beach, VA, USA
Based on the last few shows, for the outdoors show, they have 'mini ramps' where the regular ramps were. Then the B-Stage is on the right-side in the space between the 1st and 2nd set of sections. Then the C-stage is on the left-side in the space between the 2nd set of sections and the lawn...
