^ If we're going to talk about stuff that bugs us, lemme just say that I hate their portrayal of Mycroft. I can understand his much more frequent presence in Sherlock's affairs, and I can take the fact that the guy playing him (who, if I'm not mistaken, also takes part in writing the shows) looks nothing like Mycroft as he is described in the books. (Now, in "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, I thought casting Stephen Fry for that role was a VERY wise choice.) What I really can't stand is how Mycroft is almost a secondary antagonist to Sherlock, which is never how Mycroft was meant to be. The relationship between Sherlock and Mycroft was great; in fact, Sherlock often looked up to him, in a way.

"Margaret"- ... I will only say that this movie was a waste of 2 1/2 hours of my life. This was supposed to portray some profound point, but all I saw was a bunch of fake, pretentious people getting angry at each other for being fake and pretentious. Perhaps the point was that's just how people are, but not only do I not need a 150-minute long movie to tell me this, it's not true. I don't even know why the hell the movie was called "Margaret" when none of the characters were called that and the only reference to that name was from a play in an English class that didn't have any relevance to any of the main points. So yeah. Despite the fact this movie somehow has a 70% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I thought this movie was incredibly stupid.

"Captain Corelli's Mandolin"-3.5/10, and the only reason I'm scoring it that high is because Christian Bale was amazing as usual. Not even he could save me from disliking this movie. It's not his fault; I blame Nicolas Cage. UGH.

Andrew Scott! That was his name! I'll remember that now. With the Season 2 DVDs, they also had "Sherlock Unlocked," and he seemed like a nice guy. :blush:

Oh. My. GOSH. OK, so I stayed up all night (yes, all night) watching Season 2. Here are my thoughts, placed here in list form so I don't get them all confused. 1. So many people's avatars and sigs here make SO much more sense now. :lol: 2. So many people spending time to watch this also makes so much more sense now. Why on Earth have I not seen this before? This modernized version is remarkable. I love the little nuances from the books that they put in there. (e.g. Watson's blog titles; "The Geek Interpreter" instead of "The Greek Interpreter" and "The Speckled Blonde" instead of "The Speckled Band.") I'm also glad that, like in the movies with RDJ and Jude Law, that Watson isn't made to look like a complete idiot. I mean...wow. 3. I think it's because it's modernized that I can allow myself to think of it as a separate entity, rather than a weird rendition of the books. I find that I really can't be annoyed with all the differences for the reason that it's supposed to be different, y'know. 4. If I wasn't attracted to Benedict Cumberbatch already, I definitely am now. :dazzled: Tall, lean, with dark hair and light eyes. Yes. And that voice of his...OMG THE VOICE. :dazzled: 5. Speaking of voice, does he also speak that quickly in real life? My goodness, there were times when my head would just spin because he was jabbering at 100 miles a minute. I already have to deal with Matt Bellamy being a fast talker. Does he have to be one, too? 6. I don't remember his name, but I also quite fancy the man who plays Moriarty. :wacky: I know his character is evil, but it's brilliantly evil, and he looks good doing it. I mean, what am I supposed to do? Of course, there were things I didn't like about it (Who the hell is Molly!?), but overall, I was highly entertained, and I'll definitely come to this thread more often.

They didn't have Series 1, so I didn't get it. D; If I get spoilered, I get spoilered. At any rate, like I said, I've read the entire scheme of works, so it's not like I don't already have a general consensus of how the adventures will turn out, anyway. ETA: Also, knowing that this is the second season, I already know that whatever happened in Season 1 didn't go badly for Sherlock, so it's not like it's that big of a deal.

:curtain: Hello. I've stepped into the Sherlockian realm because, on a random whim, I decided to rent Season 2 after spotting it in my local Hastings. I'll watch it at some point this weekend, and I'll see how much I like it. I've read all the Sherlock Holmes works (I have the books in two complete volumes. I got a great deal on them at Barnes & Noble. Both volumes for $15. :awesome:), so I'm pretty familiar with the stories.

UGH THE STRING PART. :dazzled: Seriously, I could listen to the beginning for ages. As much as they say it's influenced by dubstep, there sure isn't a whole lot of it in there. I suppose most of Muse Nation thinks that's a good thing. Anyway, I think the "un-sus-tain-a-ble" robot bit is my least favorite part.
