Gah, I'm sorry if my post came off that way! I definitely don't think Irene is a weak character because she was saved by Sherlock. The argument that a character is weak because they need to be rescued is pretty ridiculous. Their plan is to start filming in January, so it will probably premiere in the UK around autumn.

YES. :awesome: Nah, I adore both of them. Aaaaahhh . . . these are just my humble opinions. :anxious: The way it introduced us to the series and to the characters (both Sherlock and John) is one of the main reasons it's my favorite too. I have seen the alternative version, and I'm really happy that they changed the format (it was originally going to be six 60-minute episodes per series instead of three 90-minute episodes). The writing was still great, but the storyline flowed much more smoothly in the aired episode while still maintaining that suspense and intensity, especially during the final showdown between Sherlock and (Spoilering it for Violet, just in case.) I also preferred the different "look" (cinematography, color palette) that came with the 90-minute version. Sherlock's characterization was definitely different in the unaired pilot. He was a lot less colder and seemed a little less confident and arrogant, compared to the new Sherlock.

So glad you really like it! You must see series 1. The first episode (A Study in Pink) is absolutely brilliant, and is still my favorite to this day, followed very, very closely by The Great Game. :wacky: The writing is clever and the characterizations are pretty fantastic. I wouldn't say it's a perfect show (there are some things about it that bug me), but I still love it so much. :heart: He's a bit of a fast talker, but not as fast as Sherlock. :lol: He's also really eloquent and articulate, which you'll see if you check out some interviews.

Ooh, series 2 will be an interesting place to start off. I hope you enjoy it, Violet!
