"O" is gonna be my favorite track!
I can't wait to hear the full version of the studio track, from what we've heard of it it's going to be utterly beautiful. The piano is stunning, and I do think it sounds like being alone and night and looking up into the stars. And I think it will also mean even more to the fans who heard Chris get so emotional about it, because then it has that added emotional and personal resonance.

Chris Martin on Zane Lowe (28-04-2014) - 8pm on BBCR1
I'm listening to the interview again as my 'background' music to revision, and I just can't get over how incredible it is  It's so genuine and sad but inspiring and upbeat at the same time - obviously listening to Chris get noticeably emotional is difficult, but at the same time he sounds like he's looking ahead and becoming more confident in himself, and I love that. I'm just looking so forward to the album

Is it me or is Coldplay becoming more and more like the Chris Martin band?
Honestly, I'm listening to the Radio 1 interview again just now and I'd say it's very much the opposite. Chris has always been more at the front - obviously, he's the 'frontman'! - and I'd also say he's more confident than Jonny, Will and Guy in interviews etc (in a lot of their older interviews, they're often almost reluctant to speak) but in the interview Chris speaks SO much about how close the band are right now, how excellent their bond is and how much they've grown to respect each other's roles in the band. So I would absolutely disagree with that.

A Sky Full Of Stars!! (Out now - See first post)
From the very little we heard of ASFOS, I really liked the sound of it. It sounded a bit like tracks on MX. I also don't think that just because it's been produced by Avicii it should be written off, personally I think that's why Coldplay have lasted so long, because they've managed to evolve their sound and make a different sound on every album without ever losing that crucial Coldplay 'core'. Which, judging by the sound of the other tracks we've heard so far, GS will definitely have. On a side note: guys, we need to stop criticising Coldplay for 'selling out' or 'becoming too mainstream'. Coldplay are one of the most mainstream bands out there, not necessarily in sound, but in sheer popularity and public knowledge. Ever since Yellow they've been 'mainstream'. We just need to stop equating popular with 'crappy generic pop', because that Coldplay is definitely not.

[28-May-2014] Casino de Paris, Paris, France
Anyone else from Britain going to try to get tickets for Paris? I'm obviously hoping for RAH, but I know how difficult getting *any* tickets will be so I'm working on the logic that trying twice is better than only trying once! It's a few days before my birthday as well, so as I've never been to Paris I could make it my birthday present to myself if by some stroke of luck I managed to get tickets!

[1-Jul-2014] Royal Albert Hall, London, UK
The thought of trying to get tickets is already stressing me out, and they haven't even announced sales yet! I'm just so terrified that I won't get to see them, and honestly that's a thought I can't bear to entertain. It has been so, so long. I've always wanted to see a concert in the Albert Hall, so seeing Coldplay there would just be a dream completely beyond belief, but I know the Koln one was sold out in 3 seconds and I just don't know how that's even possible! But I will try my best, and I think I might try for the Paris concert also. Anything to have more of a chance, especially considering how Chris has now said that this may be the only tour for GS! If anyone did manage to buy extra tickets on Coldplaying, could I put dibs on one haha!

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Well, I've fallen head over heels in love with Oceans

Chris Martin on Zane Lowe (28-04-2014) - 8pm on BBCR1
Yeah, the Paris show is a few days before my birthday and a few days after I've finished university exams, so I'm kind of tempted to try for those as well and if I got some I could make it my birthday treat! But I've also always wanted to see a concert in the Royal Albert so seeing Coldplay there would just be a dream. I think I'm probably going to try for both to be honest! As for the Big Weekend, I didn't even know about the tickets for that, so when I realised they'd all already been given out by the time I heard that Coldplay was headlining, I tried to see if anyone was selling but they're all being sold for about £150+ which is just too much out of my budget. And also I hate touts so much that on principle I just can't bring myself to buy one off them :( I'd love to go to that, so I'll go and see what the competitions are about (thanks so much for that information!) but I think I could struggle with that weekend actually, as I have to be about 70 miles away from Glasgow until at least 6pm that day. Why is it such a struggle! Oh well - I'm going to be a proper warrior when it comes to ticket sales for the venues!

Chris Martin on Zane Lowe (28-04-2014) - 8pm on BBCR1
I'm so upset about the fact they're not going to be touring much more at the moment, because I know how impossible it's going to be for me to get tickets (my nearest venue is the London one, and even that's 500 miles away) but it just makes me want to get tickets even more

Chris Martin on Zane Lowe (28-04-2014) - 8pm on BBCR1
Considering Chris' notoriety at being a bit evasive in interviews, especially personal ones, this is incredible to hear him talking like this. I mean, heart-breaking, but I love it when I can feel like I really honestly know my favourite artists

Well, there we go. I'm crying. (I mean, it had to happen some time) That quote about festivals and life being scary and sometimes you just need happy music, and then ASFOS... I'm going to be a mess on the 19th.

Chris Martin on Zane Lowe (28-04-2014) - 8pm on BBCR1
I'm going to put bets on it right now that Oceans will be my favourite song on Ghost Stories. Love at first listen when they played it on the Live Lounge and I just adore it

Oh god, this part of the interview, this is so emotional!!!

Also, Always In My Head sounds beautiful. I was so worried that I might not like Ghost Stories, but every time I listen to Magic or Midnight I grow to love them even more, and each new song I hear makes me so, so happy. Oceans is also beautiful.

Chris Martin on Zane Lowe (28-04-2014) - 8pm on BBCR1
I'm slowly dying right now. I don't know if I'm going to make it to the 19th of May, and if I do, I'm going to die as soon as I listen to it. Chris Martin, aside from being the frontman of my favourite band and an incredible musician, is such an incredible, inspiring, thoughtful person and I love him more and more with every new thing he does  This interview is so interesting. And, content aside, I adore his speaking voice as much as his singing voice because he is so soothing and sounds like chocolate. Ugh, I'm done.

Chris and Jonny
Sometimes I forget how much Chris and Jonny love each other and then I look through this thread again and I basically end up on the floor squealing with the cuteness of their love affair :nice: :P

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
Because I haven't been on Coldplaying in over a year (if not more! :O ) because I've been so incredibly busy, this is a fantastic way to come back to the site! I mean, that *smile* :dazzled: It's so true what they say, the mighty Mr Martin is like a fine wine - simply improving with age!

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
Oh dear me, so it was! Thanks for pointing that out! I think my little head got confused because I think of my Stockholm trip as being September, because that's when I spent most days (got there on the 29th August, left on the 5th I think!) Yes, it was absolutely incredible! I got there by volunteering with Oxfam, which was an amazing experience in itself, and I think being a 'part' of the concert made me enjoy it even more :D
