What's the weather like today in your town?
It has been unseasonably warm the past few days, in the lower 70s (22-23 celsius). Absolutely gorgeous fall days! But today we are supposed to have a really bad wind storm, with winds near 60mph (that's almost 100k/h)! The weatherman said it might be a "history-making" storm, and we should expect power outages. Although I suppose it would be nice to get out of work early... EDIT (half-hour later): Now there's a tornado warning southwest of here, I didn't think it was going to be this bad! And the storm is heading in this direction.

To Wear or Not To Wear... WWE gear whilst casting your vote?
Republicans upset over Connecticut move to limit WWE gear at the polls October 22, 2010|By the CNN Wire Staff Republicans lashed out Friday after the Connecticut secretary of state said poll workers would have the right to ask voters wearing World Wrestling Entertainment merchandise to cover up because it could be considered campaigning. Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon left her job as chief executive of WWE to run for office. And a spokesman for Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz said McMahon is so closely associated with the organization that wrestling garb could easily be construed as political advertising. "It's not that much of an inconvenience in the few minutes that you're voting that you don't serve as an advertisement for somebody'spolitical campaign," said Av Harris, a spokesman for Bysiewicz. Campaigning within 75 feet of polling places places is illegal under Connecticut law. State Republicans reacted angrily to the news, releasing a statement entitled: "Bysiewicz Loses Mind; Clothing Ban Has No Merit." "There is nothing to suggest that any other clothing, where it's promoting NASCAR, a brewery or a college, should inhibit or inconvenience someone from casting their vote. And Bysiewicz knows at outright ban would be challenged quickly in the courts and overturned," the statement said. "On what grounds does Bysiewicz base this ridiculous act of voter intimidation?" asked Republican State Party Chairman Chris Healy. The WWE also weighed in. "Denying our fans the right to vote, denying them their First Amendment rights, regardless if they are Democrat, Republican or Independent, is un-American, unconstitutional and blatantly discriminatory," said Vince McMahon, chairman and chief executive of WWE. He is Linda McMahon's husband. Linda McMahon is competing against longtime Democratic state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal for the right to returning Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd's seat. Dodd, who was first elected to the Senate in 1980, announced earlier this year he would not seek another term in office. Blumenthal maintains a double-digit lead over McMahon, according to a poll released by Quinnipiac University earlier this month. http://articles.cnn.com/2010-10-22/politics/connecticut.elections.wwe_1_linda-mcmahon-poll-workers-vince-mcmahon?_s=PM:POLITICS

How Old Must One Be To Rent A Car in England/UK
Plus you probably need to have a license there. We drive on the wrong side of the road, you know. I don't care how good a driver you are over here, you're gonna get all screwed up and get in an accident over there since you're not used to it. I'm assuming you are referring to transportation next June... just use the trains, etc. And get used to lots of walking. "Not very far" walk over there is completely different than "not very far" walk over here.

Don't worry, I didn't know what it was either! After seeing the responses though, it makes sense. Basically... a hummingbird.

Assuming the theories that it is simply the boys purchasing it, then yes to what you are saying, it would be an "advertisement" for the real estate agents. If the procedure over there is similar to what it is here, the "For Sale" sign would be changed to "Sold" and would remain up for a little while 1) to let prospective buyers know not to bother anymore, and 2) as advertisement for people looking to sell their own place (i.e., this real estate company/agents know how to sell stuff). The thing that seems odd to me is that there wasn't a "For Sale" sign up before it, just the "Sold" sign out of the blue. But I suppose it could just be a contractual thing, they are required to put it up there for advertising purposes. Although I would say it would be odd that they are just now purchasing it; I thought the purchase would have went through before they threw money into the oodles of remodeling. I didn't think you could do extensive remodeling when just renting a place. :\ But again, whatever the case may be... I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Goodness, calm down peeps! :D Hey Natascha... the price of the other place went down again! First 1.75 million, then 1.6, now 1.5... what a deal! But maybe that's what it is; the other place sold after the price went down again, and the real estate company sent out someone to put up a 'sold' sign and they just slapped it on adjoining building. That would be funny! Could you imagine the expression on the boys' faces when they go to work in the morning and they see that sign! Or maybe it's a prank/hint by Phil to Chris, "really, it's almost done, don't be 'confused'." Well whatever it is, real, fake, mistake or otherwise; personally I don't think it's any cause for concern (big or small).

IF YOU CAN READ, YOU CAN COOK
That's a little saying I made up a long time ago, my mom laughed at me. Really though, even if you're not a master chef, if you read a recipe you should be able to do what the recipe says. I firmly believe that. Do you? Or are you one of those people who say, "I can't cook?" Discuss.
