Ya it's loads of fun when you think, "oh, my nose is starting to run, I better get a tissue", and sniffling isn't making it stop, then you realize "f*ck this isn't snot this is blood", and it won't stop and you're dribbling red all over the place. Then you pinch your nose with the tissue you grabbed to try to make it stop, and since your nose is pinched you have to breathe through your mouth. And when you think it's stopped, just to make sure you take a little piece of tissue and roll it up like, well, use your imagination, and jam it up your nostril to be on the safe side. It is so fun and so purty.

Ugh, he tweeted that? Makes me cringe. As far as the method, I think I'd take firing squad over lethal injection or electrocution. Yes it's old-fashioned, but it's quick (and relatively painless compared to the other two).

Pretending I'm not mad is more difficult. The only thing I succeed in doing is acting standoff-ish, so people know I'm upset about something. If I feel like I'm going to cry I can usually avoid it pretty easily by pinching myself really hard somewhere. The pain is distracting.

May sound weird but... high blood pressure can do that. Maybe you're stressing too much about your boy halp. :D

I don't think there's anything much better, especially if the Coldplay site shows the same thing in a recent article. http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=629 It's just a really crappy quality picture, blurry, etc. I think that's the way it's supposed to look.

BTW, I was making a reductio ad absurdum style of argument, if you haven't heard of it you may want to look it up. Yes there's a different between violent and non-violent crimes, duh, but they are both still crimes. Because a crime is non-violent that doesn't make it acceptable to resist arrest and have your friend help you resist arrest by pushing and shoving a police officer. Although jaywalking may seem like a silly crime/law because it involves an individual's decision about their own safety, it's not JUST about them. It's also there for the people driving the cars up and down the street. If a driver had to swerve to avoid a jaywalker that thought they were in the clear, and the driver crashed their car and injured/killed themselves or others, then the law wouldn't seem so silly. I agree that crimes/laws that are strictly decisions about personal safety are silly. Seatbelts and motorcycle helmets, for example. That should just be up to the person to decide if they want to do it. But there is a way to bring light to that issue... resisting arrest and having your friend help you resist arrest and trying to rough up a police officer is not how you do it. And awhile ago I heard this awful noise, it was really bugging me. I just figured out what it was... it's the sound of Harriet Tubman and MLK Jr. rolling over in their graves at your comparison of these 2 disrespectful girls to them.

Goodness, using this logic I suppose I could just go set fire to the unoccupied house down the street. Then when the police try to come get me I can tell them to stay the fuck out of my business and that I don't need to blindly follow the law. Sounds like a plan to me.

Jaywalking (in the U.S.) is when you walk across the street in a place that is not specifically designated for crossing the street. Even if there are no cars coming, it is still illegal to jaywalk. I actually have a friend who was stopped by an officer in our town and given a citation for jaywalking. It may seem silly, but... the law is the law. And by the way, people should look at the whole video that goes to this. It's hard to say whether what he did was appropriate, but the girl that got punched was trying to man-handle the cop in defense of her friend who was actually doing the jaywalking. And the jaywalker was also fighting back/resisting arrest/whatever. So basically it was him versus two out-of-control chicks. He had to subdue at least one of them somehow for his own safety...

Yet another reason why I pretty much never trust anything that comes out of his mouth. :dozey: And the Oracle basically backs it up!

Ahh, nostalgia... The music video for Trouble (and the song, of course) is what got me hooked. After that I purchased the Parachutes CD. And although I would play it more than any other CD in my car, even then I only considered myself a "casual" fan. My appreciation for them has grown steadily throughout the years after each LP release, up to my very first concert last June, "discovering" all those b-sides and demos, teaching myself to play piano, the utter fan-geekdom of the End of Decade Auction last December, and going to London next month. But it all started with Trouble.

Not to burst your bubble folks, but remember he said, "I'm not gonna go into detail on here about this, and I'm afraid that is not up for negotiation. Remember folks, the station manager isn't the only honest one here... someone else actually turned in the jacket. Without that first person turning it in, who knows what would have happened... And I was wondering, how exactly did this story get out? Did the station manager report it to the news? And apparently Chris' dad took the time to make an official comment; so maybe he was the one who reported the story? Although I wouldn't see someone in the Martin family "volunteering" a personal story like that.

Yeah if we moved even half of our people/troops from places that there appears to be no reason for us to be there, and moved them to the Gulf to help with the oil spill, the water and beaches would be clean by now. Argh.
