Question for the Ladies
Just kind of reminded me of a guy I dated the summer between my freshman/sophomore year of high school. He "turned" after graduation. Hopefully I wasn't responsible. (okay I know it doesn't work like that, but still...) / probably should've mentioned that earlier but was a little embarrassed

Thinking of amateur fighting as a new hobby
Sounds just like my husband. Of course, he claims he's 5'7'' on his Driver's License. Really though, I think being in extremely competitve wrestling in high school stunted his growth and screwed with his metabolism. He wrestled in an insanely low weight class (103 I think?), ate lettuce and Saltine crackers for dinner, would intentionally sweat off excess water weight, etc.

Which is better: Too much or too little?
How so, sir? I suppose maybe after the fact, when 20/20 shows that it was too much. But before that you wouldn't know whether it was too much. This is almost becoming egg/chicken-y.

What's the weather like today in your town?
I feel kind of bad saying that our weather was gorgeous today... because the reason it was gorgeous is that Irene was keeping the stuff from west from coming toward us.

My hubby used to do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for fun. He really enjoyed that. Maybe you could check that out.

LP5 World Tour 2011 / 2012 (rumoured European tour schedule pg.3)
something tells me you'll do a 180 for the 2016 Olympics, apparently a certain sport was approved for addition to those games

Over 300,000 homes without power now... in Virginia alone.

Hurricane Irene: Emergency declared in six US states
Did you watch ABC World News Tonight? They were talking about winds and highrises. It was very informative. Also, back to the topic of flooding in Manhattan. Yeah, there's a possibility of flooding in the subway so that's why they're closing it. But what I didn't think about before... since it is sal****er as opposed to regular rainwater, the salt is going to corrode stuff down there, including the switches and other things that keep the trains running smoothly. Ugh.

Hurricane Irene: Emergency declared in six US states
(from news article) - Obama has urged the millions of Americans in the path of Hurricane Irene to heed instructions from state and local officials, especially if directed to evacuate. "Don't wait, don't delay," he said Friday. edit: The surfers seem to be liking it though.

Hurricane Irene: Emergency declared in six US states
Really?!? I agree with you there. In a normal situation that probably wouldn't be the case. But if hunderds of thousands of homes are without power at once, it's going to take a long time for the electric companies to get everyone back online.

What's so bad about Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall?
You know, one of the things I find interesting is that I haven't seen any middle-of-the-road opinions of ETIAW. It seems that people either really love it or really hate it. I don't think any of their songs prior to this have been quite so much weighted on the "outliers".

Voted again today! I had to do this funky thing (that I didn't have to do yesterday) where I logged in, then had to put the direct link in another window, but... I still voted!

Hurricane Irene: Emergency declared in six US states
Yeah I think it's all of the rain that's going to cause problems, probably even more than the winds. Even if the wind dies down a bit, there's likely going to be loads of rain that will just keep getting dumped. I think Manhattan is just barely above sea level, and will the drains be able to handle all of that rain? I wonder. And imagine the places near the shore that are below sea level, they're screwed.

You won't believe what I found out when I went to The Beehive yesterday...
That also happened when I log in; I didn't have any problems when I registered, but now that I am logging in the following day it's a bit of a hassle. Then the fansite isn't listed in the categories. The only place it is explicitly listed is to submit your site to be on the short list. SO... what I did was open another window with the direct link; then you can submit your vote. Extremely lame, but that's what works.

What's so bad about Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall?
I'm not sure I would consider MM to be "dark", but I agree with you that CB might have been have been a good first choice instead. Well at least we're on the same page here. :dazzled:

Although admittedly I DO like the last minute of ETIAW. You'll notice that corresponds to the point when Chris essentially stops "singing". You can't fool me; considering your immense disdain for IMP, you would like the sound of flies buzzing around donkey poo better than IMP. Doesn't really say much for any potential liking of ETIAW.
