Came early. Got an email just then that it was to be sent very soon, but I already got it yesterday. Been out the house though.

Radiohead
It's cool how my newspaper album came. The 'little artworks' are not cool though. Not opening mine, may sell it in the future. Seen everything that is in it since my friend had it too.

Different perceptions
Blast from the past. Happened again today when I was re-reading an old quote that I liked. "The reasonable man adapts himself to the conditions that surround him... The unreasonable man adapts surrounding conditions to himself... All progress depends on the unreasonable man." George Bernard Shaw Now originally I had seen a misquote of this, and therefore my interpretation was affected by this misquote. I had first been told that the last bit of the quote was 'The world is changed by the unreasonable man'. This led me to perceive the quote as seeing that the world is run by bad people as I emphasised the phrase 'unreasonable man' as something explicitly negative. When seeing the quote in it's original desired form, simply the language used in 'progress' (and of course it's easy to say language is important within a quote as that goes without saying) hints that the phrase 'unreasonable man' does not necessarily have to be negative, although can be. For example it could well be that the unreasonable man is only unreasonable in terms of not willing to accept the circumstances in which he lives in, for example if he is exploited, or if he is part of something he does not agree with, a freedom fighter or libertine if you will. It seems so simple to understand now I have seen the quote in full, but for years I've misinterpreted that quote, and it evokes something completely different from me. Just figured I'd post it here since it kind of fits in with the theme of the thread. Any one have any of these revelations of their own?

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
Been away for a while but RE Parker: I hate certain sections of the media. They put on this front claiming to love the underdog and the smaller teams, then as soon as anything out of the ordinary happens they don't like it. It's a London team, I would have thought they'd have been chuffed. It's so annoying that they just have to make everything controversial then there is a talking point. Talksport is the worst for that. It's like when Stoke came up they loved them. The long throw was interesting and many described it as 'an extra dimension'. Then after half a season or so, until this season when they actually started using wingers a little more they got no praise whatsoever. Blackpool were loved when they came up, but the media are turning on them a little now the points have dried up and Holloway is annoying them. It's like how they started to turn on Burnley last season towards the end, and like they did with Hull the season before. They were loving them at first when Giovanni was banging them in, then they wanted them down after the first half of the season. They didn't want them to perhaps stop up, improve in the Summer and then reproduce some of the early season form, they just got bored of their flavour of the month. So reactionary. Parker deserves player of the year in my eyes, it certainly isn't a talking point to this extent. The clue is in the title, 'player of the season'. This sin't about what team you play for, it's about individual performance and his contribution. If he'd been putting them performances in for a top club then it would be fine, but because those around him aren't mirroring his achievements meaning they stay towards the bottom, doesn't take away from his individual merit. These pieces should be more about congratulating him followed by some congratulations for those who missed out and who people thought those people were. Not just a straight up, 'Why the fuck has this guy won it?'.

Adele
Well I don't have any interest in seeing her 'looking good'. I don't care about her all that much. I was just saying I wasn't a fan of her face generally. Just a throwaway statement, nothing to do with the music (obviously). From the still in that youtube vid, before you press play, I stand by my original statement that i am not a fan of her face.

Top 15 Songs (Radiohead). Round 1, Poll 2/3
C had Planet Telex as number one and A had Wicked Child and Fog (again) on (even though the original is better). Went for B

Top 15 Songs (Radiohead). Round 1, Poll 3/3
All good but B had pull/pulk and C had a Wolf at the Door, and those are my two least favourite songs by Radiohead, including Pablo Honey B-sides. Gave A the edge.

Well Obama and Mandela have both won it and they have blood on their hands. I support both of them, but a Peace prize was a strange choice for both of them.

If Arsenal and Chelsea beat United (which they won't do since United know draws against those two will be fine) then they'll all be level on points with a similar goal difference providing Arsenal and Chelsea beat whoever they play when the other of those two are playing United.

HIP HOP
First two albums, then a few singles. Don't like him when he takes himself too seriously, I prefer him rapping in a deeply offensive way for the lols, with a catchy backing track.

Adele
She's decent at what she does and can sing very well but I don't really like her voice at all and I really don't like the genre. Doesn't help it's overplayed. I think a large reason she is as big as she is is because she is the size that she is (which isn't that big really, but big for a pop star). If she was some skinny tanned girl who had somebody writing it for her nobody would care that much. Just because somebody writes their own music doesn't mean enough for me to give them a pat on the back if I don't like what they are writing, but obviously she does get more kudos than those who contribute nothing but a produced voice and an appearance. At the end of the day though, if a produced voice with appearance was more enjoyable to listen to than some less attractive person who wrote their own stuff then I'd listen to the better song more. But, as is the case with genres like these, I'd never choose to listen to more than the odd song here and there anyway so it doesn't really matter.

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
Giggs should have been booked for three fouls within the first twenty minutes. Nani should have been booked multiple times for three dives, culminating in the penalty 'fall'. United were behaving like they were hard done to, even though they had got away with a great deal, to so I'm surprised the ref didn't buckle.

My review will be tomorrow. Listening to the rest now and then review tomorrow. I really like the way my mixtape is set out. Great artwork and good thinking with the reminder and all in one track. I think I must have a seasoned mixtaper!
