Fair enough. I was just surprised to hear her described as somebody who plays music for humanoids.

This is why I do not see you as a fangirl. I guess the term means different things to different people.

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
I do feel sorry for Hodgson for the mess that Rafa left behind him, although obviously they should be doing better. Will be good for the club if he could afford to get his own players in and get rid of the deadwood.

Then you should give Bjork a listen because her music is some of the most beautiful around. If there is anybody who oozes love it is Bjork, so I'm not sure where you got that impression of her from. My rule is that I only buy CD's I will pass on to my children. I would go to more concerts if I had the money. Which means I will go to more concerts in the future.

Nostalgia thread part III: First concert and last concert?
First Concert I went to: Travis 2003. Ugh. So boring. I didn't want to go but my friend (through geographical reasons rather than quality of personality) had two tickets and could only go if somebody went with him. Filled with middle aged men and women. I was in the seated area too. At the end when everyone stood up and started swaying and singing to 'Why does it always rain on me?' I was nearly sick. First Concert I wanted to go to and paid for myself: The Strokes 2006. Drunk on Strongbow. Was amazing. Last Concert: CocoRosie 2010. Beautiful location (a church) and beautiful music. Would have preferred more from the first couple of albums though. Next Concert: I dunno. Need money first.

World of Music Fangirls
Ahh, thank you. I understand. That's why I don't see the difference between a fan and a fangirl/boy. Fans can see the sexual side of a band too, claiming to be a fangirl always appears to me to have an obsession with pushing forward the sexual side constantly. Therefore for the majority I find them less interesting in their discussions on the band. An example is that I have still never seen the Mew 'fangirls' have an in depth discussion about the band, other than a few quoted lyrics and saying they really like a certain track. There never seems to be any constructive critique of the art, it just ends up as a picspam. This is not the same for all 'fangirls' however, but then I don't believe those people to be actual fangirls, just fans of the music who incidentally would fuck some of the band members. I find Bjork really hot, but I don't go on about it because there is so much more to say about the music. Attractiveness can only be discussed to a certain point. Music has far greater depth. That's why I don't know how fangirls keep pushing the sexual side. It would get boring for me. Seems very much a teenage girl thing to do, no offence. I'd just refer to myself as a fan and if it came up in conversation I would say that I found her attractive. /rambling post.

When they refer to themselves as a fangirl.

I am a little confused since you always say that you yourself are a groupie. Are you a groupie (somebody who has casual sex with the bands, and usually targets multiple bands to do this with) or not? I agree with what you say about fans loving the music.

Vegetarian of Non-Vegetarian?
One more point on this. I have never understood the motives of vegetarians. Of course I can see why they are vegetarians and I respect them for it, but who do they decide should also be vegetarians? It isn't fair to expect people in the third world to become vegetarians. On top of this it is some peoples religion to eat meat. Islam have Eid ul-Adha for example. Do you wish to encroach on their religion? Or do you believe people simply people in the Western World who do not come under the above should be vegetarians? How do you pick and choose who to force it on? (Incidentally, I am not accusing you or anybody else in this thread of forcing vegetarianism on people, but there clearly are people who do) Is it simply the way that the animals are killed which you dislike? If so, would your opinions change if it was done humanely, and if you believe there to be a humane way, what would that be? I have no beef (pardon the pun) with vegetarians who stick to their beliefs but respect but may not understand others who wish to eat meat. EDIT - the intent of this post is to stimulate debate so people can put forward their views. Take some of what I said with a pinch of salt and don't waste your time attacking it. I am genuinely interested in what people believe.

CocoRosie
Those two tracks are the only songs I like of Grey Oceans too. La Maison De Mon Reve is amazing. I recommend you listen to Noah's Ark next. It won my best album of the last decade thread (though right now I prefer La Maison) - http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70755 Just noticed you posted in that thread too.

Vegetarian of Non-Vegetarian?
What does it taste like? Prepare for a lecture on why we don't need it :p I imagine we'll be told of the alternatives. But if there are alternatives to give us similar things, then the meat itself will do just fine since I don't care for the ethical side of things more than enough for it to impact my eating habits.

Vegetarian of Non-Vegetarian?
As I can imagine.

Vegetarian of Non-Vegetarian?
Surely it should be a decision made on your own feelings and not other peoples. If it was prepared correctly I would eat pretty much any animal (certainly mammals) from cows to cats. I do not feel bad for doing it. I am looking to get horse meat shipped over from France when I have some money and the best meat I ever had was reindeer. I would also like to try veal and fois gras, simply for the experience. This is greedy on my part but I don't care. I fully respect the rights of others to be vegetarian, and I understand why they are. Them preaching is just hilarious though.

World of Music Fangirls
I don't understand the terms fangirls or fanboys. What happened to simple fans? Simply being a fan of something would make me think that they really liked it and took a large interest in it. Putting gender in to it makes it seemed based too much on sex, and with music, if you are basing it around sex it's majorly shallow. That should be a nice bonus if the band you like have a sex appeal. I always thought of fan as a strong word, and if it was just a band you liked but didn't go crazy over you just said you liked them, or they were decent.

National Geographic Book Club
Haha, well I either make stupid threads or serious threads. Never anything in between. It's not that they don't have an interest in these things, it's more that if we were to discuss these things I would have to explain everything first since I would have just read up on it and that would get really old for everybody involved, like you said. If we had all read the piece we could bounce off each other and maybe teach each other things that some may not have picked up on. That's what I'm hoping to do in this thread if we get any subscribers, no matter how few. I was looking at The Sky At Night and it looked really good. If I was to have a third subscription it would be that. Then I could have one on the environment and world events, one on history and then one on astronomy. If price is a huge factor for you right now National Geographic would be a good choice for you. What will you be studying at uni?

I was a carnivore for two weeks the other month, but I'm usually an omnivore.

I've never 'owned' Kid A. I don't have any children that I know of.

 Yeah, and they'd all be high and nailing prostitutes in clogs. I don't understand why you don't understand. Anyway, just seen the De Jong tackle. Don't see what all the fuss is about. Mis-timed tackle, but you see plenty of them. Seen them sent off for it but there was no malice.

Steve McClaren could manage England again - Brooking
I'd love Allardyce to get it, then he wouldn't be managing Blackburn any more and it would piss the England fans off.
