  1. Please don't even get me started... I get so incredibly grumpy, especially knowing how wonderful his penmanship can be when he has time & energy!! Do you know what makes me even grumpier though? People asking me to sign a slew of paperwork when I'm really friggin' busy. (Ummm....scribble, next!...scribble, next!...scribble, next!...You get the picture, right? Forge the rest.) Once, I honestly think I developed carpel tunnel syndrome from end of the year donor letters. Considering the bazillion projects he's successfully juggling at the moment (LP5, Apparatjik, Pierces, antiques, personal photography thing), all the while maintaining his killer sense of style (love the green raster T from the latest pics) and devilishly handsome looks -- I'll let it slide... this time. Next auction? Not so much. Consider this your forewarning, Mr. Berryman. (kidding, kidding) Okay - back to business: Confiscation of dead vs. alive organic materials Australia "quarantined" (or, in my opinion immediately torched) the lovely straw basket I got for Katie in Mexico. No problems coming from Mexico into the United States because we're technically bound to the same continent, so I never imagined it would be such a problem. It was. They ripped the whole thing apart. Good thing I didn't store her autograph in the little basket like I originally planned. :shocked2:
  2. Love it! The concept, the actual artwork and yes, the little chickadee too, but I think I'll have to sit this one as well. :( (boo!!) For some reason, I just foresee US Customs not letting this package arrive safely to my house without some sort of major issue. NOT that should keep anyone else in the US from bidding (especially since the proceeds benefit such a worthy cause) -- it's just I tend to have terrible luck with these kinds of things!!! :laugh3: If you're like me, live outside of the UK & want to bid, might I suggest finding out what you can & cannot import into your country before you buy...
  3. The Limousines -- Get Smart Loving it.
  4. Katie ~ happy to oblige with the autograph. Like I said, I'm a girl of my word. Besides, I felt slightly awful that I was there and kept texting you with updates. :P XOXO
  5. Best. Picspam. Ever. Well done, Katie! Thank you for calling & telling me to come visit this little slice of heaven. Delicious. :wink3:
  6. Of course you did, dear! :D Wouldn't expect anything less considering your marvelous taste! Back with a few more claims: Will: -Panama Hat -King is Dead painting/sign -Plex Robot doll (a Yo Gabba Gabba character) in his Beehive drum kit -Obvious disdain for stupid questions & sound bites - still working on last one Chris: (two long ones I most likely butchered but won't check for accuracy b/c I'm doing this by taptastic) - There's no excuse to be sat down in this song please. You know, if you stand up, we'll buy you all ice cream. - Johnny Cash picked out all of our outfits -- except for our shoes. Those came from Usher. - Anorak/Rain slicker Chris wears in Yellow video Jonny: - Seeing Jonny play the Til Kingdom Come guitar in Mexico (elaborating on what was already submitted - His "I'm trying to hold in the laughter & keep a straight face" look during the joint interviews with Chris - Guitar in "High Speed" Board: - :curtain: - Don't think this has been claimed yet...but Auction thread? (Willing to divide into sections) - Waiting for confirmation but I claim AusKT's signature until she decides to play along & takes it back from me (Note: Katie's CPing sig is a souvenir gift from my MX trip -- I'll gladly give it up once more whenever she so pleases! :hugs:)
  7. GUY Viva Tour Jacket (:D This one I know I can have -- I'm the auction winner.) Viva tour blue jeans with navy blue stripe/gold buttons down sides; worn front/ripped pockets with red fabric underneath His fully stocked jukebox I know his "camera" was claimed but he has several. I assume the claimed camera is the Leica, so may I claim the vintage Polaroid? Last one is difficult because I want to claim so many good things (mostly textiles because I have a thing for clothing)...but I'll go in a different direction & go with Guy's unknown photo project. (That is if it's yet to be claimed.) MUSIC/BAND Easy again - claiming my "Til Kingdom Come" Guitar (Sorry but pulling rank again...:worried: but I'm the auction winner) Claiming Glastonbury 2005 Live version of "Till Kingdom Come" Claiming "Things I Don't Understand" (B Side/Speed of Sound Single) Okay...going to submit these while I work on the rest so I don't lose out on something! :laugh3:
  8. Okay, let's see if today brings me better luck with Image Shack ~ Item 31, Chris's* Gibson J200, "Til Kingdom Come" Guitar Although I guess "technically" Chris's as per the auction booklet, I've discovered every member of the band played this guitar at some point, most recently Will & Jonny during the LA tour. EDIT: I'll post some "regular" photos in a bit -- aka, ones without funky filters or cropping. Yes, I took a picture of the DHL Guy. Considering just the day before I was told my items wouldn't arrive until middle of next week, I was ecstatic to say the least. Chris's handwriting with "God Put a Smile" followed by "Til Kingdom Come" Shot to show the wood grain Probably difficult to see due b/c I played around with filters after the fact, but glow in the dark tape (yellow) at the top of the headstock.
  9. THAT is the reason why I want to go bathe in bleach right now. It left stains in my ears & eye that no ordinary soap will remove. Also, total ick factor, especially during the slo mo head turns. Bleached out roots Jonny Boy looks none to thrilled to film his -- and I don't think it's because he's supposed to be the dark, brooding member of their particular band. He's well aware of just how awful the darn thing will turn out to be!
  10. :uneasy: ~ Update ~ :\ Apparently, I just may have to wait until kingdom comes... Oh, I wish I had some good news...but I don't (at least not yet). I know the radio silence :lipsrsealed2: is frustrating some of the wonderful people who've been so kind with words & messages. I thank you profusely. So here you go...grab something to drink, sit back, relax, & prepare for some light reading! :shout: Needless to say I didn't think my weekend was going to be too terribly wonderful. I had a complete laundry list of information I needed to provide the US government, (some of it very bizarre and obscure but I'm sure they have their reasons for it...) which I received at 3:30 pm the Friday before a holiday weekend. My paperwork was due the following business day by 5:00 p.m. (luckily, Monday)and I wasn't eligible for an extension because my two items reached the maximum waiting time at the port of entry (wrong email/no phone number listed on airbill). Yep, you could say I was a nervous wreck :wreck:. The way that it was put to me by my point of contact on the phone -- unless I could prove to the government that I'm not a deviant (well, an evil  deviant) trying to smuggle in a whole host of contraband via Guy's jacket & Chris's guitar, then customs could dispose of the items as they see fit. :uhoh: I needed someone with access to specific (and quite frankly, lunatic) information to get back in touch with me or I'd be up a creek without a paddle. SMJ! SMG! (Save My Jacket! Save My Guitar!) :o Then things started to brighten up....:sunny: As if we didn't already know this about her, but Debs Wild is an angel. A complete godsend. We as fans are so incredibly lucky to have a) a band that cares so highly for us in the first place and b) has a liaison that we can seek out for assistance. She answered my SOS email first thing Saturday morning and vowed to help me track down the information I needed. Actually I'd be remiss if I didn't thank Vicki & CJ, Debs enlisted their help too. Last but not least, the costuming people. These poor costume people -- they had no idea when they helped the guys sew their stuff together that one day, years later, after the touring & Viva era came rearing to a close, they would be asked to recall really peculiar, minute details. STAT. I'm sure it's oh so easy to come up with the fiber content in percentages for each scrap of material, plus the genetic make-up for each sewing notions making up a one-of-a-kind jacket from memory. Gee, if only wardrobe could view the jacket up close & person, you know, so they could better answer the requested information for customs?!?!?! :idea2: Oh that's right...it's currently packaged in the exact country requesting the ridiculous information (probably right outside the doors of the customs office to boot). Hmpf. I feel rotten putting all of them through such hell! Forget the band at the moment-- have I told you how much I love Coldplay's little family of crew, assistants & other management? :laugh1: As expected, Debs et al pulled through and sent me the information I needed yesterday right around my lunchtime (COB for the UK) -- yeah! Good thing we're living in different time zones and I received the this info "early" in my day because all of a sudden my 5:00 p.m. deadline...changed. I received an email at 1:30 pm asking the location of my paperwork because the return process would begin by the end of the day. Exactly what European clock was US customs using to tell time!?!?! It may be 5 o'clock somewhere in the world but not where I currently was, and most certainly not in Arizona! First my reaction was something along the lines of this :censored: It then it became a bit more like this, :whaaat: to :\ thanks to rereading the email 10,000 times wording of the email. Sure the deadline moved up a bit, but at least I learned one important thing -- I was no longer considered a threat per se. Now if rejected, my items would be shipped back to the UK (at my expense of course) vs confiscated. Wahhh, does this mean I'd have to plan a trip to London? :bigcry: How awful!! Yeah! No more we're going to blow up your stuff because it's potentially hazardous and you're a terrorist :bomb:... I'm now officially a member of the "ehhhh, sorry buddy, better luck next time!" list. Movin' on up...to the East Side How about I bury YOU in some paperwork? :deal2: I submitted eighteen pages of documentation yesterday to the US government. To give you an idea of exactly how much information, the email from Debs was one page. Lots and lots of tax information showing I'm not running a corporation or planning to open one with the jacket and/or guitar. Plus, the pages from the auction booklet, any ebay documentation, payment information, and correspondence between Gemma (which like many of you was quite a handful of pages). This little gem has to be one of my favorites though... I had to supply thorough details for the Gibson guitar. Literally, every single detail pertaining to J200 acoustic :guitarist: I was trying to import in the US, which luckily I could pull up, copy & paste from their website. Why is this so hilarious? Last time I checked, Gibson guitars are manufactured in the United States. This little baby took an extended holiday to the UK (and just a few other places all over the globe) and now, it just wants to return back home to the US of A. To reject the Gibson guitar entry is like denying a natural born citizen the right to enter his or her own country! :P The last of the updates: Tuesday: Nothing new really. Paperwork officially "received" this morning via my point of contact (e.g. moved from fax machine into inbox); and I turn, got an email back stating I will have to wait 2 days before I hear the final decision. So until then, I'm just going to sit back, try to take my mind off things, bide my time... One example of how I've wasted time - use of emoticons throughout this message. :laugh3: I realize this is an extremely long update but rather than type the same info over & over again for a few different people, I'm throwing it all out there at once. :juggle: Now that it's all there too, hope you don't mind if I drop off until I hear something further :vanish:...it's just that I'm already climbing the walls and don't want to subject you to my growing frustration! :embarrassed: Cheers.
  11. Thanks for posting pics Jason but more importantly, thanks for your emails.. The info has been extremely helpful! Between you and the goddess, Debs Wild, I'm slowly but surely sorting through this crap... Trust me, US customs will not deter me from getting my jacket & guitar!
  12. :wreck: HELP!! :bigcry: Does anyone have experience with importing textiles into the United States? And/Or did anyone else from the United States win any of the other "textile" auction items? E.G. the ones previously dispatched like the football jerseys, or the lot with the wellies & band T-shirt? If so, please, please, please PM me. My items are still with US Customs because Guy's Viva jacket is obviously a textile and therefore puts my stuff into another category of import. I'm not an "officially" registered importer, nor a business, corporation or nonprofit -- things are not exactly working out in my favor at the moment so any advice would be greatly appreciated. :anxious:
  13. Hi Luk'aa, Please don't worry about your English -- the great thing about this place is that we're from all over the world so people understand. Besides, you should see my French! At first glance, I'm fairly certain that it's not one of the auction items from the EODCS sale as I've reviewed the catalogue so often that I think I have all the instruments pretty well memorized. Besides, they didn't sign the actual instruments featured in the auction whereas this guitar is obviously autographed. I know, not much help but narrowing things down by getting rid of things it's NOT can be helpful too. :\ Quite possibly Disneyland Paris asked for signed items because Yellow plays while people stand in queue, some sort of liscencing agreement between the band/record label and Disney would be in place. Great question for you to ask the Oracle! :)
  14. Thanks for the gorgeous piccies! Will's guitar in the second pic - is that yours Amanda? :inquisitive: :D Why yes... that is my guitar Katie. Both Will & Jonny played it during the Latin American tour, and sadly, I feel like a proud, beaming parent watching their child perform at the 1st dance recital or school play whenever I see pictures/videos of the darn thing -- aka, my Gibson J200. Awful, isn't it? :\ Cue Madonna -- I am a material girl (at the moment...) By the way, loving the new signature...
  15. Hi there- I have tons of photos & a few videos (taken on my iPod nano) to share with all of you when I finally arrive home from Mexico later on this evening.
