  1. Paradise video. Coming in the next 72 hours... PH
  2. I do hate leaks, this is the first I've listened to. I tell myself that it's OK because firstly of course I'll still buy it when it's in the shops, but more so because I live in a country that probably won't get it immediately anyway. It really does ruin the excitement of waiting for the release though.
  3. Disappointment: The fact that Princess of China exists Surprise: Charlie Brown sounds even better recorded than live, great song :)
  4. My own personal opinions upon first listen: http://thefangirldiaries.blogspot.com/2011/10/first-impressions-of-mylo-xyloto.html Edit: am I allowed to post links like that? Not sure if it's only links to the songs/album that aren't allowed? Otherwise someone just tell me and I'll take it down :)
  5. Let me first say that my expectations for this album were lowered a lot this morning after I heard 'Princess of China',and really did not like it (I know that I'm one of the very few). But I must say I'd give the album about an 8.5/10, I think most of the tracks are great. Favourites so far are 'Hurts Like Heaven' and 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart'.
  6. Hurts Like Heaven is my favourite, I loved it live, but the studio version is even better IMO
  7. Hurts Like Heaven studio version is my favourite so far. Loving it!
  8. OH WOW!! Studio version of Charlie Brown sounds absolutely amazing!
  9. I don't love it 100% on first listen, but then again I thought Paradise was awful at first and now it's one of my favourite Coldplay songs. The thing I fear is that it will go to number one or do really well on the charts just because it features Rihanna. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with her, she sounds good, and the song isn't terrible or anything.
  10. Lovely, thanks for posting it! :)
  11. Happy belated birthday, Debs :) I didn't manage to video it, but in the first verse, Chris sang "give me time, give us a kiss, Debs" and the "happy birthday, Debs" later on in the song :)
  12. This is my own photo and I can't even begin to do the hilarity of it justice, but I shall try... Guy: Idiots, despite them trying to cover up my sexiness by putting this mask over my head...I still make a fine elephant ;)
  13. Left to right: Jonny, Will, Chris, Guy. I promise, I remember what each of them was wearing ;)
  14. When they arrived in Cape Town and saw how beautiful it was/how great the weather was, Will suggested they film the 'Paradise' video in Cape Town. The last minute was filmed at the Joburg show, I guess the elephant heads are a nod to the fact that they were in Africa. Trust me, to actually be there and see them jumping around in those elephant heads live was probably the highlight of the show for me. Absolutely hilarious.
  15. With regards to seeing the soundcheck, we were all queuing outside the stadium gates, and were explicitly told by the security that we were not to make our way through the next checkpoint, which was a set of turnstiles, before word was given. However, the turnstiles had not been locked, and once we got through the gates, quite a lot of people went through into the actual stadium and started running for the golden circle area, which must have been when they saw the soundcheck. They were removed by the security after a few minutes and then made to queue with the rest of us until soundcheck was over, and we were all allowed it. Hope that helps :)
  16. I cannot stop giggling every time I think about this video. On Saturday night, I almost thought Chris was joking when he came onto the stage in that costume... I didn't really believe it was going to be in the video until I read about it on the news on Sunday.
  17. interview with Chris and Jonny the day after the Cape Town show
  18. At the Joburg concert: 'if you get bored of the music, you can just look at our bass player, Guy, he's very handsome' and [about shooting the Paradise video at the concert] "I know it's a f***-ing waste of your time...we're going to be parading around in some ridiculous outfits, please don't put this on youtube! When you're not as good looking as Beyonce, you've got to do what you can for videos' and "How's everyone at the back doing? Don't worry, we smell better from there..."
  19. So lovely of them. I remember reading a while ago that the boy's mom was trying to get in contact with Coldplay about getting one of Will's drumsticks, so I was so pleased when Chris said "this one is for our friend Colby" when they started playing 'Fix You'.
  20. When you get back from seeing Coldplay live, and fall into post-concert depression, then your phone rings and you remember that your ringtone is the 'wa-a-a-a-aterfall' bit from ETIAW and you feel sad :(
  21. Sound great! I love reading such positive reviews
  22. As far as I know, they recorded most of it in the 'desert' somewhere near Cape Town (I honestly don't know any deserts in that area though...) and the last minute with the elephant heads at the Joburg show. I'm really excited to see the video, because the camera was right behind me at the Joburg show :D
