  1. Same exactly thing here man. OCD's unite! lol It's just not the same having the leak, it feels wrong somehow. Buying the mp3/album is us giving back to the best band in the world.
  2. And with UATW I really like how he goes 'sing....' like the days of Parachutes. And there's no ooh ooh ooh's like a lot of the others on MX. :P
  3. It's too hard to choose. Us Against the World is a lyrical masterpiece in it's entirety. I'd go as far as to say it contends for the best Coldplay song (lyrically) ever. Too many good lines to quote in it, I'd have to quote the whole song honestly. Up with the Birds is up there lyrically as well imo. Chris has these flashes of absolute lyrical brilliance every one in awhile. The Scientist and Viva la Vida are great examples.
  4. I'm pretty sure you can... how many bonus tracks did A Rush of Blood to the Head have again?... ;P
  5. woah woah woah. Woah. Woah. Louis this is NOT my Batman cup!! And. That's 16 songs not 14! :P lol We have a law-breaker. :)
  6. Awesome thread!! 1. Shiver 2. Ladder to the Sun 3. Yellow 4. A Message 5. The Scientist 6. Warning Sign 7. In My Place 8. Us Against the World 9. Talk 10. Clocks 11. Lovers in Japan 12. Viva la Vida 13. Up with the Birds 14. Amsterdam
  7. 1) A Rush of Blood to the Head (9.9 out of 10) [in My Place, The Scientist, Clocks, A Warning Sign, Amsterdam] 2) Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (9.7 out of 10) [Cemeteries of London, Lovers in Japan, Yes! Viva la Vida, Violet Hill] 3) X&Y (9.4 out of 10) [square One, Talk, Speed of Sound, A Message] 4) Parachutes (9.2 out of 10) [shiver, Yellow, Everything's Not Lost, Life is for Living] 5) Mylo Xyloto (8.8 out of 10) [us Against the World, Up in Flames, Don't Let it Break Your Heart, Up with the Birds... whatever happened to the short song titles???]
  8. I completely agree with our top two favorite's (Up in Flames is up there for me too). I don't like PoC though. Well, it's ALRIGHT. Not nearly as bad as Paradise. But I expect more than just okay from them. Second worst song on the album for me.
  9. THIS. Pitchfork always has something really interesting to say. Whether or not you agree with them, they're always scathing and critical- makes for the most original music reviewer out there. If it's bad, they'll say so. Plus they get added cred. from me for naming Radiohead's Kid A album of the last decade. :P
  10. Surprise: All the U songs are amazinggg. Disappointment: why the voice on Hurts Like Heaven? And the guitar effect near the middle? It works great on Major Minus. But...well come to think of it the "Yes I feel a little bit nervous" part with the supreme voice distortion, I could kinda see how that works. I'm hoping it will just take some getting used to. :S It's still an incredible song but the live version wins. Paradise is still as dreadful as ever. And disappointed in all the people who said Up in Flames wasn't good/was boring. Crazy people. :P Also I couldn't pick out the "Luminous" lyrics on the bottom of the album cover in any of the new songs. I don't think any of them used them, weird.
  11. I mean. It's just... okay. It's definitely better than Paradise. I mean at least the lyrics aren't nearly as bad and meaningless this time. And Rihanna's better than I thought she would be. It's not absolutely terrible as I thought it would be. I think a high quality version will be better. I think there's still some unique Coldplay vibe too it. You can hear it in the synth melody and what little guitar there is. It's definitely no ARBH or Viva. But it could've been worse I guess... I'd give it a 6.5. Lower than the rest of the songs we've heard except Paradise which is still like 3.5-4.0. :P
  12. Us Against the World. That song is absolutely stunning lyrically, musically, and vocally. Frankly it's allmost too good to be real. I'm also very interested to hear how the church organs contribute to the song. At first I was really worried at first but now I'm betting it will make it even more fantastic, if that's even possible. :)
  13. Correct. NOOOOOO. It doesn't need any more laying. At all. Period. Viva was the first album that didn't have an acoustic-type song and UATW is it for MX. Why can't it be like the live version? It could very well make it better though. And that means we actually really haven't heard th wholee song even with the live versions if there's an organ. Guess we'll have to see... :| Organ's never impressed me though. Fix You and Lost! are good songs but the song is amazing the way it is.
  14. +1 Glad I'm not the only one here who can add time. lol
  15. It's alright. No worries. haha yes! This x 100
  16. And even for those of us here in the U.S., it's the 24th if you ordered the limited edition with the mp3 right???
  17. I'm sorry honestly, because I don't want to sound/be mean, but either you don't know how to add time or you made a really careless mistake. Because I just re-added the numbers. This is what you get 37 minutes- from just the minutes column 429 seconds- from just the seconds column So it seems as though you made 429 seconds into 4 minutes and 29 seconds, added 37, and got 41:29 which is incorrect. There are 60 seconds (not 100) in a minute, so the seconds column actually comes out to 7 minutes and 9 seconds when calculated correctly. This leaves the real track time at 44:09. While two and a half minutes might not make a difference to some people, they really do to me. And that's also probably why he said it was just under 45 minutes and not closer to 40. So yeah. Hope that clears some things up.
  18. I'd have to agree. I honestly miss the pre-Viva days where a large majority of Coldplay songs were 4:30-5:30 long. And true with the radio part. Today's most popular songs are 95% usually 3 to 4 minutes long. That always struck made Coldplay stand out and seem so original for me. You'd have a tough time to find many songs by them under 4 minutes long that fit in the 3-4 minute spectrum. But it's changed. I'm not saying it's not the correct times, but how do we know for sure? I mean I'd honestly love not only having the TRACKLIST but TRACK TIMES as well. But there's nothing that confirms this as correct. There's nothing to back this up, besides the songs we've heard of course. I hate to be another one of those whiners but...why so short an album? I know they didn't want to duplicate the cumbersome length of X&Y but. What was wrong with A Rush of Blood to the Head? 54 minutes is more than reasonable as far as I'm concerned.
  19. 1. Hurts Like Heaven 2. Us Against the World 3. Charlie Brown 4. Major Minus ----------------------------------------Excellent songs 5. 20. It's Jay-Z my man. Best rapper out there, And about the only one worth listening in my opinion. The reactions to this song tell me one thing: just about none of you are able to be pleased. :P
  21. Same to you! :) And oh. Nice! And coincidental. lol Mine are a lot like yours except moved up on the scale and changed a little. Excellent: Hurts Like Heaven Charlie Brown Us Against the World Moving to Mars Very Good: Major Minus Good: Every Teardrop is a Waterfall Average: Princess of China Dreadful: Paradise I haven't heard Up in Flames so I can't rank it.
  22. Every Teardrop has really grown on me a lot lately. I think 1) Paradise came out and was... and it made it seem better by comparison 2) Now that I think about it, it sounds very U2-esque who I really like of course. Great show!! :) I kinda wanted to hear Up in Flames and Don't Let it Break Your Heart. But since they didn't play them I won't be listening until the new album comes out. :P
