  1. I have this feeling/belief that Car Kids isn't a song but lyrics in a song or something to do with Charlie Brown. Oh no wait, wasn't it on the list of songs back in 2009? I guess it really is a song...maybe they just decided not to use/finish it for some reason. Although I still keep a possibility open because Up in Flames hasn't been registered yet either.
  2. I don't know but...? Why would they have named the whole album that if the song they named it after isn't even going to make the cut. That doesn't make much sense I don't think.
  3. I asked her this actually because I wasn't sure. She didn't respond. Where exactly did you see this btw? But it really should be a whole song! After all, the whole album is named after it. I don't think they'd pull another Parachutes especially since they decided on the album name for that at the last minute. I bet it'll be mind-blowing. :D I'm not sure why but this has always been my favorite emoticon to see on the boards [[ ]] I never use it but I should. idk it's really cute. And Hurts Like Heaven is the best new live one. Along with Us Against the World that is. :P Charlie Brown was my favorite before but idk. Some of the lyrics are still hard to hear. The one's in HLH are some of Coldplay best in awhile as are UATW. And the guitar is astounding. [[: Something I didn't know Jonny was capable of honestly. UATW also has the best vocals with Will backing on certain parts, i love the lyrical imagery and the intimate sound which apparently they didn't completelyyyy scrap. :) It vividly reminds me of something you'd hear at the end of A Rush of Blood to the Head along with Green Eyes, A Warning Sign and Amsterdam.
  4. Right? That's what I'm saying. And yes! I never get tired of it!! Can anyone take hyperbole/a joke/a clever allusion? Damn. Sometimes I wonder if this is a thread for Coldplay or cannibalism because I'm always getting my head bitten off... :(
  5. Disregard this double post thank you.
  6. Are you SERIOUS? :P A Rush of Blood to the Head theme couldn't have been more clear stated!!! It was about being the best album ever made! (; "Open up your eyes" girl. GOSHHHH!
  7. I don't think it's the same. Could have been the precursor though. Speaking of Roadie blogs, we haven't had any in three weeks. Not. Cool. :|
  8. haha very true. Reminds one of good ol' Muse. [: I like the lyrics of the first one. But they don't sound like something Chris would write. And I'd have to second the prevailing sentiment here. They sound like someone's poetry. Too forced in the rhymes.
  9. I get the gist of what you're saying. But a lot of people feel differently about the albums. Which is the their favorite. Which is their favorite song. Some hate ETIAW. Some love it. Some think their new songs are among their best. Some say they're the worst. Some people prefer Parachutes/ARoBttH and some like VlVoDaAHF/Mylo Xyloto better. We all like the band. But to varying degrees. And we have individual opinions of ever era. Every album. Every song.
  10. Thank you. And this is a good point. [: If everyone felt the same way about bands/albums/songs it would be extremely boring and really weird at the same time.
  11. Not to be rude man. Just a thought.
  12. Indeed sir. In that case this and the Pitchfork thread shouldn't have been created then. Nothing to discuss.
  13. It's a great song. Not the best song ever though. And not exactly. I definitely think the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was more realistic. #65>>>#473
  14. Can't agree more. Especially when a magazine puts "Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan is their best song ever and A Rush of Blood to the Head as the 473rd best album ever. Both of those things are complete garbage. There's an infinite amount of songs better than Like a Rolling Stone and ARoBttH is a really good album I don't care what anyone says. :p And it's also my personal favorite ever.
  15. hahaha that was really bad wording on my part. I should've put 'might' instead of 'would'. Silly me.
  16. When you ask your friends to call you Mylo instead of your real name.
  17. I don't think it is. Because that's not the same thing. They've been planning to call it Mylo Xyloto for a long time the Oracle said. Not at the last minute like what they did on Parachutes. They completely bs-ed that whole thing about why they called it that. They had to choose a title and they chose Parachutes. This title was much more thought out and I don't see them naming it after a 40 second song. I expect Mylo Xyloto to be 4-5 minutes long and one of the best on the album.
  18. I'm not too worried. Drake isn't even one of the good hip-hop artists as far as I'm concerned. If it was, say Jay-Z or Kanye West this would be a different conversation. And I don't think they could outsell Coldplay either. This is Coldplay we're talking about people. The best band in the world. X&Y and VlVoDaAHF were the best selling albums WORLDWIDE in 2005 and 2008 and something tells me they'll repeat that success. Plus, in a sense, who cares? We all know which album will be better. Not even close.
  19. Chris- 10. Guy, Will, Jonny- 13. I'm guessing they'll compromise somewhere with 11 to 12 songs on the album. So along with what they said will most likely be on there, with the ASCAP songs which wouldn't be registered for no reason, this is not what I want but rather what I think is the most realistic possibility: 1. Mylo Xyloto 2. Charlie Brown 3. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall 4. Major Minus 5. Up in Flames 6. Us Against the World 7. U.F.O. 8. Paradise 9. Princess of China 10. Great Expectations 11. A Hopeful Transmission 12. Tomorrow I think Car Kids is more likely a reference to a song we haven't heart than anything. Rex I have no idea. the 'luminous' part of the cover prover refers to one of the songs registered in the ASCAP I imagine. And yeah, that's about it. I imagine one of these songs might be left off in favor of Hurts Like Heaven. But otherwise I'm sticking with this. The day we find out the tracklist will be one of the best days ever as far as I'm concerned. Random. Also I've decided I'm not going to listen to any more new songs until the album comes out. That is to say all of the ones they've already released to this point and the live songs too. I'll still buy Paradise (and any other songs it comes with) and listen to it a few times but then I'm done with that too. I want Mylo Xyloto to sound just about as refreshing, surprising and new as possible.
  20. Same here. I'll probably buy it no matter what. Any ideas how large/how many pages the booklet will be? I've never purchased one of the special limited edition things before.
  21. If it's done why won't it be handed over until September 8th? If it's done why does Chris want 13 songs and the rest of the band want 10? They haven't even decided how many songs it's going to have and yet it's done. Perfect sense. Chris says a lot of things. If you believe everything Chris says this is their last album. And so was VlV. And so was X&Y. Some would say you can't take everything he says at face value...
  22. This makes 0 sense. Why then does Jonny say in the Billboard interview it's only 90% done? If it was finished we would have the tracklisting already. And they wouldn't be working on it until September 8th like the said they would be.
  23. What I don't understand about this thread is, let's see. Basically no one lists Mylo Xyloto on their tracklisting. I mean, it's only been registered on ASCAP as a song, it's only the album title, and Coldplay have only named every one of their albums after a song that was on them. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's most definitely going to be a song on there. Not just an MX intro for Hurts Like Heaven
  24. I don't know about that. but it must be important somehow. The MX paper opens up to UFO on the webside. I don't think it's meaningless. I won't give up on the song! Plus there's no reason to. It was even registered on the ASCAP site. Which is good news for us alien/space-loving types. :) i have a feeling the space theme has taken a back seat to many others though. :| And plus they need three U's. It could be one of them.
  25. [: You speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I can't help but think to add to what you pointed out; Yes and Lovers in Japan deserve mentions on VlV and A Warning Sign does on A Rush. Good point. I'd have to say the first one too. I mean you're comparing 3 albums we've heard versus maybe 1 and 2/5 albums we've heard. It's a no-brainer. I bet MX will rock all our socks off though!
