  1. I hate Muse. Seriously, I won't deny that they're talented guys (Chris Wolstenholme is a beast) but really? Their lyrics are usually worse than Coldplay's, and nearly every one of their songs sounds the same: Loud guitar riffs and irritating synth arpeggios. Their ballads are subpar at best. They have some good songs, but...ugh. Sorry, not my style. If I had to pick though, Absolution is by far their best.
  2. Am I the only one that thinks Snow Patrol is...kinda boring?
  3. Pet Sounds is one of the best albums ever. Period.

If you want it to be a suprise, why would you ask what it's like? :inquisitive:
  5. I actually think Mylo Xyloto has had some pretty good lyrics so far. Charlie Brown, Hurts Like Heaven and Us Against the World come to mind. The rest of them...not so much.
  6. I was merely making a point that indie-pop does exist, even if it sounds an oxymoron. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indie_pop_artists
  7. Arcade Fire is far more poppy than the somewhat challenging Animal Collective, they they could certainly fit the genre. Listen to Sprawl ii, Keep the Car Running, Ready to Start, Rebellion (Lies), etc. They are (were) a rawer form of pop, but pop nonetheless. MGMT I agree with.

I love the live version of Major Minus. :inquisitive:
  9. To be perfectly honest, this song could do with a few synths.
  10. i.e. Deerhunter, Florence + the Machine, Death Cab for Cutie, Grizzly Bear, Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, etc.

Up in Flames is rather...meh. Charlie Brown is the only song from this era that stands up to their previous work, though the live version of Major Minus comes close.
  12. Are you kidding me? ANYTHING would have been a huge step forward after X&Y. :laugh3:
  13. Just leave it off. No one in their right mind would vote for it.
  14. There's nothing wrong with hip hop, you know. :blank:
  15. Personally, I prefer his self titled. But all his releases so far have been magnificent. For Emma, Forever Ago is a modern classic.
  16. Bon Iver is brilliant. Almost better than Coldplay, at this point. Holocene > Mylo Xyloto (So far)
  17. Posted this on the U2 forum. We'll see what they think. :wink3:
  18. This thread has officially been hijacked. :smash:
  19. This thread =
  20. I like the voice, I prefer the live version because the instrumentation is better (rawer).

  22. Definitely a how.
