What are your thoughts about their new single?
So...Billboard described Paradise as a "bold anthem." Face it guys, it's not going to be a slow/quiet/dark song. That's the opposite of an anthem. We're probably looking at Viva la Vida / Every Teardrop / Lost! / Clocks material here.

What Are You Most Excited About in the MX Era?
Maybe they'll ACTUALLY DO A SHOW IN HAWAII FINALLY!!!!!! :blank: Seriously, if it's good enough for U2, then it's good enough for Coldplay.

What score will Pitchfork give Coldplay?
Um...yes. Funeral is one of the best albums of the 00's, (possibly ever) and Neon Bible and The Suburbs aren't too shabby either.

Keane, Snow Patrol and Muse are not fit to be mentioned in the same conversation as Radiohead.

The Tracklisting
Only ones I really want a Charlie Brown, Princess of China, Hurts Like Heaven, and a REWORKED Major Minus.

Why are Radiohead so popular?
Oh haha, I totally misread your post. Somehow I read mtv as "they," and thought you were talking about back when Radiohead played good music. My bad.

Bon Iver
Bon Iver > For Emma. Which is crazy, because For Emma is easily a five-star album.

Why are Radiohead so popular?
Yeah man, I know...last year seems like forever ago. :smug:

What score will Pitchfork give Coldplay?
That is because, artistically speaking, Viva la Vida is a far stronger effort than A Rush of Blood to the Head. I would agree with Pitchfork's rankings of the albums if you added 2.0 to every score.

The Resistance is a terrible album.

Tracks that may make the album based on the concept (Really long, sorry, i get really into things li
I hope that Moving to Mars is NOT on the album...it SO doesn't fit the theme. It's also my least favorite of the new songs. :(

Hey Coldplay, this is your Joshua Tree moment, don't mess it up.
You don't understand the definition of the word mainstream dude. Mainstream just means popular, it has nothing to do with musical style.

I agree. The art of trolling is FAR more subtle than that. :laugh3:

Article: How Coldplay chose 'Paradise' over 'Charlie Brown' as the next single from Mylo Xyloto
You haven't even heard the song yet! Charlie Brown wasn't the obvious single because it was the best song, but because...well...it sounds like a single. In My Place was an obvious single from A Rush of Blood to the Head, and I think it's probably the weakest track on the album. Paradise could be one of the best Coldplay songs ever, for all we know.

Because it is possible for people to like both bands, AND, believe it or not, to share their opinion on why one is better? This is the internet bud, expect people to disagree with you. I like Radiohead better than Coldplay (I still love Coldplay), but I still enjoy coming to this forum and chatting.

The Tracklisting
Songs I think SHOULD be on Mylo Xyloto (I accidentally typed LP5 ) Mylo Xyloto (MX) Hurts Like Heaven Charlie Brown Major Minus (Reworked. Keep the vocal effects, but the music needs to be more like the live version). Princess of China Alien Radio Golden Arrow Up in Flames Paradise Car Kids

Release confirmed!!!
Moving to Mars is like...the worst new song. It could have been SOOO great, but they blew it.

Hey Coldplay, this is your Joshua Tree moment, don't mess it up.
No frickin' way, dude. They're great, but The National has absolutely nothing that could even BEGIN to rival Sgt. Pepper's, Revolover, OK Computer or Kid A. Nor Abbey Road, The Bends, In Rainbows, the White Album or Amnesiac, come to think of it...

Where the Streets Have No Name wasn't the highest charting single...and I don't even agree that it's the best, though it's in my top five U2 songs for sure. :)

What are your thoughts about their new single?
Yeah! Where did you live?

Hey Coldplay, this is your Joshua Tree moment, don't mess it up.
Fixed. :P And a wonderful song it is, too.
