  5. I think I'm gonna win this round... So, the other day I was at the Dentists office, and the radio was playing Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones. The dentist was prodding around in my mouth and it really, really hurt. But then the song ended, and on comes THE SCIENTIST! :D I went into a trance and the pain faded slowly... But even weirder...I live in Hawaii, so my family went on a two hour whale-watch tour (we get local discounts :laugh3:). After an awesome tour, we were zooming back to the harbor. I was in the very front of the boat, and the wind was whipping past so powerfully that I could barely hear anything. All of a sudden, my brother (leaning over the rail next to me) turns with a twinkle in his eye. "Recognize that?" he asks, pointing the loudspeaker behind us. Like I said, the wind was so loud that I couldn't hear anything. I crawled over there and put my ear to the speaker, and...what do you know? SHIVER! I spent the next three minutes singing along at the top of my lungs. Luckily, none of the tourists could hear me, the wind was so loud. Heck, I could barely hear myself~ :laugh3:

Actually, they usually say Viva la Vida. However, I would have to say that Clocks is their signature song. Nearly EVERYONE has heard the Piano riff.
  8. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH 'Nuff said.
  9. Oh they'll release something else. I gaurantee it. It's just a matter of when.
  10. Radiohead U2 Pink Floyd Coldplay Arcade Fire
  11. I. Would. Die. "Dream For Us?" "Gift To The Stars?" "MAGIC TIMES?!?" Just...no. So bad.
  12. Don't get me wrong. I love the entire album. It's just that I think it would have worked better if it were split into two releases. One LP and one EP. I just feel guilty trying to take in the album in one sitting, because I have so many more important things to do that the indulgence feels selfish.

Street Spirit (Fade Out) by Radiohead is the darkest song ever written. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrTB-iiecqk]YouTube - Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)[/ame] "'Street Spirit' is our purest song, but I didn't write it. It wrote itself. We were just its messengers; its biological catalysts. Its core is a complete mystery to me, and, you know, I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless. All of our saddest songs have somewhere in them at least a glimmer of resolve. 'Street Spirit' has no resolve. It is the dark tunnel without the light at the end. It represents all tragic emotion that is so hurtful that the sound of that melody is its only definition. We all have a way of dealing with that song. It's called detachment. Especially me; I detach my emotional radar from that song, or I couldn't play it. I'd crack. I'd break down on stage. That's why its lyrics are just a bunch of mini-stories or visual images as opposed to a cohesive explanation of its meaning. I used images set to the music that I thought would convey the emotional entirety of the lyric and music working together. That's what's meant by 'all these things you'll one day swallow whole'. I meant the emotional entirety, because I didn't have it in me to articulate the emotion. I'd crack... Our fans are braver than I to let that song penetrate them, or maybe they don't realise what they're listening to. They don't realise that 'Street Spirit' is about staring the f***ing devil right in the eyes, and knowing, no matter what the hell you do, he'll get the last laugh. And it's real, and true. The devil really will get the last laugh in all cases without exception, and if I let myself think about that too long, I'd crack. I can't believe we have fans that can deal emotionally with that song. That's why I'm convinced that they don't know what it's about. It's why we play it towards the end of our sets. It drains me, and it shakes me, and hurts like hell every time I play it, looking out at thousands of people cheering and smiling, oblivious to the tragedy of its meaning, like when you're going to have your dog put down and it's wagging its tail on the way there. That's what they all look like, and it breaks my heart. I wish that song hadn't picked us as its catalysts, and so I don't claim it. It asks too much. I didn't write that song." ~ Thom Yorke
  14. I never did understand why people like Sprawl ii so much. I just can't seem to get into it. Personally, I think that The Suburbs would be a much stronger album with a shorter tracklisting. I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if someone cut out 5 or 6 of the songs.
  15. Have you listened to KID A or Amnesiac? The only way people will ever like Radiohead is to never. Expect. ANYTHING.
  16. Hmm...let me make a list here. Alternative/indie rock Classic rock Hard Rock/Metal (Not too much) Gospel Blues Pop Rap/Hip Hop (A little) Reggae Electronic Classical World (Hawaiian, Israeli, Celtic...all have great stuff) New Age Country Not to mention all the ones I forgot. :3 Edit: Jazz being one of those. :D I'm not a super huge fan, but I still really like it.
  17. I only take it personally if that artist happens to be Radiohead. :P
  18. Um...it's been like three or four years since Radiohead's last release. It might feel rushed, but take a few more listens. It certainly wasn't. Besides, we have reason to believe that there is still more to come... ...leave it to Radiohead. :P
  19. Perhaps... ...but when you add all the other evidence, it's not quite as silly. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon, I think. And if not, I won't be disappointed because the new album is a great standalone. :3
  20. I'm a composer. I'm also a great pianist (not to brag :P), a pretty good guitarist / bassist, and an OK drummer. And I sing pretty well.
  21. I can't see what was just tweeted!!! D: What is it?
  22. What the hell are you complaining about? For once, the grammy's got something RIGHT! :smug:
  23. Keane. Radiohead vs. Radiohead (Don't you dare pick the wrong one) :wink3:
  24. Radiohead is easily (in my opinion) the best, most brilliant band of today. That said, Coldplay is my favorite band, along with U2. Muse is...bleh. I like them, but they have no depth whatsoever. Typical arena rock, with sophomoric lyrics. I love Citizen Erased though. :3
