Snow Patrol shouldn't be on anyone's list.

7 from Pitchfork ? This is an historic event
This is nothing short of bizarre.
-
7 from Pitchfork ? This is an historic event
Well...yeah. But...it's frickin' Pitchfork we're talking about.

7 from Pitchfork ? This is an historic event
The hell? :shocked2: I was so positive it would get an even lower score than X&Y.

Hows MX? Im not feeling the reviews
I totally disagree with you, but I actually lol'd at this.

Not a chance.

The Yellow/Clocks/Fix You/Viva La Vida of this album?
Unfortunately, this is how it is. And I actually like the album.

[Article] New York Magazine - How Coldplay Became Possibly the First Band to Be Humanised by a Conce
The thing is, Kid A was not only a complete change from Radiohead's style, but also from the album directly before it. Absolutely no one saw it coming. If we hardly notice a change in Coldplay's sound because they get there gradually, then you can't really compare the album in question to Kid A. Like Sigur Ros? :wideeyed:

Lyrics?!
That's what I thought it was.

[DLIBYH] Lyrics
I knew it was "burning tide!" :D

Up In Flames Lyrics
Yeah, it's clearly "Up in flame we have slowly gone."
-
Lyrics (page 2 onwards)
There's no way it's "through concrete" or "and a cartoon heart."

Album review: Coldplay: Mylo Xyloto (The Scotsman - 2/5)
Doesn't even mention Charlie Brown...

Phrases I Wish Would Go Away
Frankly, it would be better if YOU just went away, because these phrases aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Especially since half of them are true (the Car Kids thing is an exception, obviously :laugh3:).

Coldplay: Mylo Xyloto review (Popmatters - 4/10)
Well...this guy cites Up in Flames as one of, if not the best, of the album. All credibility lost right there. :laugh3:
- New Coldplay eh?

New Coldplay eh?
See, I don't think X&Y's sounds were ever good. There is exactly one decent song on that record...and it's basically just a remix of Clocks. It will always be their worst album in my mind. On the other hand, I geniunely like Mylo Xyloto's dance themes and melodies (I love electro/dance pop), the only problem I really have with it is the lyrics. I have a few gripes with the production as well, but nothing too major.

A Hopeful Transmission Meaning
Does this song sound like a ringtone to anybody else? Seriously. I think that this is the point in the story line when the female protagonist, Mylo's ex-girlfriend, calls up his cell phone (or vice versa). The following track is the conversation they have over the phone, in which she tells him to let life go on as normal, even though they can't be together anymore..."Don't Let it Break Your Heart." Thoughts?

What score will Pitchfork give Coldplay?
Well, MY Mama always said that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say nuttin' at all. That's all I have to say about that. ;)
-
New Coldplay eh?
I don't know why people are ripping on this album so much. X&Y has lyrics just as bad (if not worse), and it's far more monotonous. This album, to my ears at least, has more ideas in it. More sonic diversity.

WoM Mylo Xyloto ranking
:stunned:

Florence + The Machine
Those two aren't even on the normal release. :laugh3:

Do You Think Coldplay Is Done?
Um...do you listen to anything outside of the mainstream? Sure, the slick, manafactured stuff is what's popular now, but there's countless bands and releases that stay away from all that.
